I’ve always loved her honesty, it’s sad that she didn’t achieve everything she wanted in the sport, but she always brought something into her gymnastics which makes it fun to watch
@@lpoco0006 Maroney said it was an older gymnast who said it, I think Alicia and Anna were the 2 oldest. Based on the accusations against Anna’s gym, I’m more inclined to believe that it was Anna who said it. Is there some specific evidence that showed Maroney was talking about Alicia?
Which she shouldn't have, cause she most definitely picked the entire flight faze. But again, russians remember about the rules only when the rules benefit them.
@@volodymyrdolia6544 but in 2012 mustafina vault was 6.1 in value and Sandra isbaza got a gold medal with that vault and Maroney felt on that same vault
@@olgaszoke9241 As it was stated before, she piked almost entire flight faze on 2010 WC EF, making it not a laid out vault, therefore, 5,7 in difficulty. Isbaza tucked slightly only before landing and I remember only one Mustafina's attempt of that vault after 2011, where she fell on it. When exactly did she make that vault in 2012?
Also, Nabieva had both of her vaults devalued. Besides, you can't protest E scores of your own gymnasts let alone others', so what Alicia says cannot be true by any stretch of the imagination.
I hope Alicia remembers that line now that she is one of the people in charge, "I'm not there to have fun, I'm there to win medals." So many people want to make competition about anything other than winning medals.
Here's my thoughts on that: you shouldn't compete if you're not trying to win or outdo your previous score/standing. HOWEVER, that doesn't mean you have to be miserable and abused, whether mentally, emotionally, or physically, in order to win, and it doesn't mean you ignore your well-being in order to win, either. Competition itself isn't about having fun, I agree. It's about trying to win. Competitors shouldn't abandon trying to win just so they can have fun. But I do believe you can have fun during the training and during the competition and still keep a focus on winning, still have your goal be to win. Loads of gymnasts and teams in recent times have shown us that this is possible.
@@chrissyjoy08 agreed. I think we also have to consider that what is fun for one may not be for another. You could have two gymnasts in the same gym one of whom may feel over worked while another may enjoy the challenge of being pushed hard.
For me.. I look back at the 2005 World Championships FX Final.. I'm like.. Alicia has made her mark having Fabulous Sass and whole lot of Power filled with Flair. I think the World missed out have her at 2004 Athens for a possible head to head with the Great Catalina Ponor who too also follows in the same pursuit on floor yet more fluid.

she wasn't honest when it came to taking responsibility for telling Maroney to shut up when she spoke out about her abuse

I love that she was real! Not there to have fun I’m here to win!
I loved her look at this worlds lol
Me too!!!!
You ladies rock! I’ve always loved Alicia’s honesty. This interview gets 10 stars in my book! This is so cool!🤩😊🎙👊🏾👊🏾
The Russian coaches were actually upset that Mustafina didn’t get her full start value on her second vault.

I would pay Alicia so much money to watch her read Kathy Kelly.
She was a perfect vaulter

ASac is one of the greatest WAG performers of all time. Not to mention her floor and vault.
No girl, the russians did not contest your score. They contested Mustafina's D score for second vault.

That would have been an epic match up!
So modest ... Alicia Sacramone !! You are a gymnastics goddess !! Stop it
“But I didn’t fall” SCREAMINGGG
She was so damn hot. Still is.
How is she interviewing after costing the USA the Team gold in Beijing ‘08?
