Geometry dash is a 2D, 1 input, auto scroll, level platformer game.. *with a side of rhythm.*

@@beepduck it’s a level where you have to use two inputs (for example, your mouse and space bar) despite the level not being in two player mode. I also discovered the thing it uses before playing it, and I made levels showcasing them. Just search “compound clicks” and you’ll find them.

Something about silent level that I think that you should have mentioned is the fact that the term is a misnomer. The original silent level was silent club by blackP2Sfull. The reason it’s a misnomer is because the level name was most likely not intended to refer to a silent version of clubstep, but literally just a silent club, since level names were just like that back then. The reason it was likely turned into a term for impossible remakes was likely because people assumed that the “club” in the level’s name was just an abbreviation of “clubstep”, so people interpreted its name as “silent clubstep” and then interpreting that as a silent version of clubstep.

I saw an entry on the iceberg called "gd amino incident" and I have no idea what it's referring to despite having been a moderator on there for 5 years lol
I just realized you can click on the entries for more context but after looking at the screenshots I don’t think I was ever even aware of that happening
I can assure you that this was an incredibly minor event, there aren't really any events tied to gd amino that are relevant outside of the subcommunity in any way (aside from maybe amino sponsoring juniper and evw) but there are ones that were a lot more important than the one you happened to come across

As someone who has been part of the scratch community for almost 6 years, I think it would be cool to see you go more in-depth about gd on scratch at some point. For example you could talk about some of the people who have worked on creating gd in scratch, like how a user called Griffpatch created the original engine for most of the popular recreations of gd, and how a user called iPhone (I can't remember their full username) has recreated literally hundreds of gd levels. Although gd on scratch can seem quite primitive, there has been a lot of work put into this by a lot of people, including even myself at some point, as there have been a couple of times where I have tried to code a gd editor myself. I think a gd youtuber might have made a video on this topic (I think it was either Colon or Alias). Someone could probably even make a 'gd on scratch' iceberg with the amount of projects that have been made. Thank you for listening to my TedTalk.

I took a look at the iceberg and while I knew almost everything since I have been playing this game for 9 years now, I imagine almost no one knows whats under the surface. This will be very exciting
44:04 You know what Scary, I'll help you out on this one. Trusta is a Swedish player and creator, he was the 9th person to beat Bloodbath and the first person to beat Sakupen Hell legitimately. He also spend 4 months verifying Yatagarasu, a level that was aimed to a solid top 1 but was battled with Erebus and Sonic Wave a lot. Trusta is also known for hosting collabs like WOW and Galaxy Collapse, a level around 5 minutes long aimed to a top 1. Around 2019 Trusta quit UA-cam and GD almost entirely apart from a content video or demon competition every once in a while. At the end of 2021 he beat an extreme demon every day for a week and announced he quit his job to play GD and stream on Twitch. During this time he was very active on UA-cam and beat Wasureta and The Rupture as new hardests and was planning to beat The Golden too. Unfortunately during 2022 he quit again after saying this UA-cam thing was not for him, the GDDP website released after this and is still open for use to this day.
There is something you can do to still use everplay, if you turn off your internet it will show the replay and you can screen record it and upload it to UA-cam
around 32:45, how i think the GD leader boards work is that they will start counting players after they reach 501 stars, and carrot master is somehow at the bottom of all of those people (i don't know why he is at the bottom because if he was the first to do that then he should be at the top with people that achieved 501 stars). If you don't have 501 stars yet, then you'll be displayed as the bottom person and there won't be anyone above you if they have

Why did I think of the website scratch before the shopkeeper scratch
With carrotmaster, the leaderboards require 501 stars to be on the leaderboard. When a user with less than 501 stars goes to the global leaderboard and see who is above them, they will see carrotmaster, because they have the lowest number of demons of anyone who has 501 stars.

i actually didn't know amoraltra played gd bc at the time the only reason i knew he existed was an fnf mod by the name of "vs. bob and bosip" which was promptly cancelled from updates and taken off gamebanana due to the controversy, but looking back at it now, it should have been pretty obvious from the look of the mod that amor played gd

I think I know what happened with carrotmaster being at the bottom of the leaderboards. Geometry dash only puts you on the leaderboards if you have more than 500 stars, (which is why carrotmaster has 501 stars) so if you have less than 501 stars, you’re effectively leaderboard banned. I think that whoever took the screenshot somehow forced themself on to the leaderboards, so they’d have less than 501 stars but still be on the leaderboards. Since everyone else on the leaderboards would have at least 501 stars, having less than that but still being on the leaderboards would no matter what put you on the bottom spot.

2.2 might be a forced release because GD was taken off the Google Play store for inactivity. Can’t wait to see how good my grandkids will get at the game though!
Something to note about the fernanfloo series is that they were also made for a gaming youtuber from el salvador called fernanfloo, who was playing the game around the time they were made, which is why they exist in the first place.

16:08 if you want my opinion on the matter, I think their is and their never will be a single concrete answer to this question.
The reason for this is that whatever you call it will be different depending on how you decide to experience the game His argument draws attention to levels like “preheat to 480” where there is little to no sync, but a counter that I can come up with is, “what about levels that are really synced like “JUMPGRIND3R””.
Another reason is that, game genres are inherently simplified. Yeah you could say that “Geometry Dash is a rhythm-based platformer” but when was the last time you were actively searching for a “rhythm-based platformer”, it’s too small of a genre for most people to actively seek out. The whole point of a genre is so that people can easily find and get a new take on what they like. The only other rhythm-based platformer that I can think of is the music levels from Rayman Legends.
My conclusion is that the genre of game that Geometry Dash is will purely depend on who it is being recommended to, as it (in some way) can appeal to both rhythm game and platformer game players.

this was probably commented already but anyway: carrotmaster is the lowest visible player on the leaderboards. so when new players check the leaderboard (they need to have like under 500 stars i guess), carrotmaster will be the one that shows above them. the account is very well known since almost every player who has checked their leaderboard placement has seen them.

I'm not sure if this is true, but if you beat a level (example luster) that is rated say 10 stars and reach the 501 star minimum, if it gets updated for less stars and you update the level, you lose the star but stay on the leaderboard.
I have a suggestion of what to put in the bottom tiers of the iceberg, and it’s a level called “Xentai 2”. By looking at the title, you already know what the level is about. I never clicked on it, but I looked at the comments of the level to realize that the level had actual hen ties in it. I stumbled upon this level while looking at levels with the song ID 1 (You know, Chilled 1?). You should put it on the iceberg due to how obscure it actually is. The scary part about this level was that, when I found it, it had over 10k downloads, so there must be an entire group making these types of levels.
Honestly, I feel like most members know that those "Hent*i" levels exist (same goes for snuff and NSFW levels). I didn't add it since it I thought it would be too obvious and that other icebergs put those types of entries at the bottom of their iceberg to make it seem more "cursed".

GD is not a rhythm game, (unless you make an entirely sync based level). I have played countless other actual rhythm games and this is the least "rhythm game" of them all. It's a rhythm based game sure, but unlike beatsaber and osu and many others, it's not solely focused around rhythm and sync.
One last comment, do you have a Discord or something? UA-cam won't let me subscribe to you for some reason (happens on other accounts and channels aswell) and I really don't want to miss the next parts, I could even help setting the server up, if you need help just let me know.
