  • Situated alongside a narrow seaside street in Long Branch, NJ lies a curious footnote to United State history - a monument marking the death spot of the 20th U.S. president, James A. Garfield. But Garfield was shot by a deranged gunman in Washington D.C train station. So how is it that he came to breathe his last breath on the Jersey Shore?

I grew up in Jersey. In West Milford. My ancestor actually actually Garfield. Weird!!! Charles Guiteau's brain is still on display at The Mesuem of Health and Medicine.
