    I LOVE my Harley-Davidson Mustache Engine Guard BESIDES the problem I had with the foot grip!!! Have any of you had this problem before?

    • @xaviervanlede4253

      I watched your video before I got the mustache engine guard for my fat bob, and didn't put my feet on it (I don't event put my legs that much on it), but last night I did on my way to work, and noticed once I got there that I had lost the right foot grip.
      I went back to take a look but couldn't find it... I'll have to try and find a new one, but apparently it's only available with the whole engine guard.
      Anyway, thanks for the video 👍

      @@xaviervanlede4253 Thanks for watching my video!!! I do like the mustache engine guard, BUT yea that foot grip falls off which in my mind shouldnt be falling off!! Two people commented below and said to use Protape grip glue or JB Weld two part epoxy and the grips will never fall off and you can put your leg over it while riding. I had Harley Glue my right side, just recently my left side got loose so I'll prolly try to do that myself because it cost $50 to just glue it!!! Hopefully you can find a replacement for your grip! Thanks for commenting 🤙🏻

      I mounted the same engine guard from Motea on my Sport Glide. It has the same issue with the foot grips, as there is the same method in fixing these. The foot grips were rolling and moving and just looked cheap and silly. But as I don´t like the position anyway when I put my foot on the engine guard, I just pulled them off. Looks way better... ;)

    I've been putting my feet on my rubber rests for over 2000 miles. I didn't buy mine from HD. There's $314. I got mine from Motorsports Supply for $160. The first thing I did was slide the rubber rest down out of the way and applied gorilla spray glue to the bar repositioned the rest. Now it's permanent mounted and the only way to remove would be to cut it off. 😊

    • @MotoMiracle
      @MotoMiracle  Рік тому

      Yea you prolly made a better decision with the engine guard 😅. That's actually a great idea! I was thinking about doing it, but honestly was worried it wouldn't stick that well. That's good to know though taht the gorilla spray glue worked!!! Now my left one is falling off so I"ll definitely try that! Thanks for the tip, bro!! 🤙🏻

      @MotoMiracle don't let HD tell you that you can't put forward controls on with their engine gaurd. It really depends which controls you get. They just won't tell you!

    • @MotoMiracle
      @MotoMiracle  2 роки тому

      It may be worth the $300. The one I have I think was 200 something, maybe $275. IF you buy the Linby one let me know how that one works!!! 🤙🏻

    Probably should've bought a better highway/engine guard, like LINDBY. No I don't work for them but I've used they pars on previous motorcycles. One is a 2007 FLHX, I used the multibar.

    How does it look under the rubber?
    I have the Chrome version and i would take the rubber of if it is just Chrome with some glue or rings, which probably can be removed.

    • @MotoMiracle
      @MotoMiracle  3 місяці тому

      It doesnt look like the rest of the bar lol. If I remember it dips down a little and it has a lattice look, but not in a good way. I recommend keeping them on, be careful though because if you use your feet to much on it it falls off like mine. You can always glue it back on with some apoxy. Im pretty sure on of my Mustache engine guard videos one of my subscribers commented on it with options on what to do if it falls off. Thanks for commenting and watching 🤙🏻

    AND I JUST GOT MY CRASH BAR TODAY. I NOTICED THAT THE RUBBERS ARENTTAFIXED TO THE TUBE FIRST OFF. BU WHAT I WAS GOING TO DO WAS SLIDE THEM BACK AND ROUGH UP THE AREA WHERE THE RUBBER WOULD BE MAKING CONTACT AND PUT LIQUID NAIL EXTRA STRENGTH ON IT. I ALSO PLAN ON ATTACHING SOME AUTO LED FOG LIGHTS. SO WE'LL SEE

    I bought a sportster that had one on it and I put my feet on it many times and legs across it, not sure what brand but thinking about getting one for my street bob that I have now. Only thing I thought it was a little high to put feet on

    • @MotoMiracle
      @MotoMiracle  Рік тому

      If you do get the mustache engine guard, I recommend to not rest your feet on it since both of mine fell off, BUT at the same time now that Harley dealership glued it now I can rest my leg on it. Just be carefull and when it does get loose get protaper glue or JB Weld two part epoxy. Harley makes you pay $50 for just for them to glue the grip. I havent used the protaper glue or JB weld but 2 people replied and told me those work very well. And I think it really depends on how tall your are. Since I'm 6'1" it lets my feet and legs fit perfectly on my ride. Thanks for commenting and watching 🤙🏻

    I'm waiting for my FXLRST and bought the mustache guard. I really hope i could keep the same lean angle because on the pics i've seen, it seems lower than the foot pegs and i'm really worried about that.

    • @MotoMiracle
      @MotoMiracle  Рік тому +1

      Nice!!!! I've leaned very low and never scrapped the engine guard. I think the lower part that you wrench is lower than the foot pegs, but the actual bars have a nice angle so when you lean low it shouldnt scrape. I have forward foot pegs andd the ST is mids which are actually higher up so you should be good. Let me know though when you get it!!! I hope you're excited for your bike! Congrats on the bike!!!🤙🏻

      @@MotoMiracle thank you so much for your reply and explanations, it reassures me a little because i have forward controls (I'm 6'4 so no choice seen i didn't want a cruiser or another model at all). I'll see in few weeks now and i'll let you know how it is. Still a bit worried because i've ridden Hypersports bikes and muscle roadsters forever so i tend to lean alot ofc.. hope it won't be too much with my first Harley ! Thanks again and keep up the good work. V from Belgium
