This is what God taught me when I was going through sleep paralyses 40 years ego and use to experience many nights of terror and I had trouble sleeping. I was caught up in God's presence, I did not see His face, but I did feel love and complete peace all around me. God heard my prayers for help and brought my soul in His presence and said to me "Why do you have fears if you say all the time you trust me 100% and why do you pray to crosses that have no breath in them and can not help you?", then God said "Who do you choose to have control over you, Me or Fear?" Then God said to me very clearly... SEEK MY FACE/MY PRESENCE! This was THE DAY when God took all my fears away, even the fear of death, when God showed me what I was doing wrong.... and corrected me. I grew up in Crown Heights. My parents moved during the white exodus from Crown Heights, while I was in Israel, living there for over a year, and I returned to their new apartment in Flatbush. I applied to graduate school with an intention of making Aliyah, but I met my husband to be in graduate school, and though he was Jewish, he was not interested in Israel. Indeed, when I went back to Israel for a visit a few years after our marriage, he chose not to go. After we divorced, at the end of 12 years of marriage, I was so preoccupied with survival that I did not even consider Aliyah.

But your reminder - which reminds me of my actual experience, not just a hopeful ideal - that we do have a lot of supporters here in the States, really brings some sanity back to the equation. The very destructive, very vocal minority is still a tiny _minority_ ! Our job, wherever we are, is to be the light to the nations around us.
Shimon, there are two ideas relevant to this question. 1) Is the general idea that the Rebbe emphasized more than once about the idea that something like the Holocaust could never happen again. That antisemitism like that could never happen again. To this the Rebbe emphasized that such a thing could occur even in the blink of an eye. And 2) is what the Rebbe taught primarily, which is the coming of Moshiach and the final redemption. What happened with the Holocaust was specifically associated with the beginning of the period associated with Moshiach. Among other places, this is described in signs 1 through 4 in book one of Sefer Avkat Rochel by Rabbeinu Makir. In Talmud, it is called “The Heels of Moshiach”. The previous Rebbe discussed this many times. Today, we are long past that point. We are well into the Days of Moshiach. In Sefer Avkat Rochel, it is approximately at sign 8 out of the 10 signs. In terms of the Alter Rebbe’s teaching, we are past the spiritual ingathering of the exiles, which coincides with the histalkut of the Rebbe, and even the reconstitution of the nascent Sanhedrin in the next blessing in the Amidah prayer. We are in the period associated with the Malshinim blessing which is also referred to by the Prophets as the time when the Spirit of Tumah would pass from the earth. It started 7 years after the passing of the Rebbe, in 2001, and continues to this day. The Rebbe wrote about this explicitly in his letter to Elchonon HaKohen Cohen in volume one of his Igrot Kodesh, quoting the Zohar. That Zohar quotes the Talmud which describes this time as part of the redemption that the Sages didn’t want be alive to experience. Like is mentioned by the Rebbe and many other sources, this period lasts for 40 years starting from the time of the Rebbe’s histalkut. For here in the United States now, we are living the book of Ovadiah HaNavi. With that context and following the explicit teaching of the Rebbe from the time of the first Gulf War, the time of the Pekidah, the “dress rehearsal for the final redemption”, the Rebbe stated repeatedly that the safest place in the world for Jews is in the land of Israel. It was true then and it is true now. That is not in conflict with the idea that the final redemption is not to be in a way of fleeing, like it was in the first redemption from Egypt. For those inclined to move now, it should be in an orderly and calm manner without loss or hardship, going from strength to strength.

Though I am a Christian and a supporter of Israel as well as all the Jewish people, this verse needs to be better scrutinized in the context that it is given. There are many Christians who take a verse "out of context" and give it a meaning by itself rather than in the context where the meaning is more clearly understood. Whilst the prophets say that the Jewish people will return to their homeland, that time is only set with Hashem's calendar, which is unavailable to the mortal man.

IMHO the safest place is to have complete trust in God and do not allow fear control you.

I grew up in Crown Heights. My parents moved during the white exodus from Crown Heights, while I was in Israel, living there for over a year, and I returned to their new apartment in Flatbush. I applied to graduate school with an intention of making Aliyah, but I met my husband to be in graduate school, and though he was Jewish, he was not interested in Israel. Indeed, when I went back to Israel for a visit a few years after our marriage, he chose not to go. After we divorced, at the end of 12 years of marriage, I was so preoccupied with survival that I did not even consider Aliyah.

Shimon, there are two ideas relevant to this question.
1) Is the general idea that the Rebbe emphasized more than once about the idea that something like the Holocaust could never happen again. That antisemitism like that could never happen again.
To this the Rebbe emphasized that such a thing could occur even in the blink of an eye.
And 2) is what the Rebbe taught primarily, which is the coming of Moshiach and the final redemption.
What happened with the Holocaust was specifically associated with the beginning of the period associated with Moshiach. Among other places, this is described in signs 1 through 4 in book one of Sefer Avkat Rochel by Rabbeinu Makir. In Talmud, it is called “The Heels of Moshiach”. The previous Rebbe discussed this many times.
Today, we are long past that point. We are well into the Days of Moshiach. In Sefer Avkat Rochel, it is approximately at sign 8 out of the 10 signs.
In terms of the Alter Rebbe’s teaching, we are past the spiritual ingathering of the exiles, which coincides with the histalkut of the Rebbe, and even the reconstitution of the nascent Sanhedrin in the next blessing in the Amidah prayer.
We are in the period associated with the Malshinim blessing which is also referred to by the Prophets as the time when the Spirit of Tumah would pass from the earth.
It started 7 years after the passing of the Rebbe, in 2001, and continues to this day.
The Rebbe wrote about this explicitly in his letter to Elchonon HaKohen Cohen in volume one of his Igrot Kodesh, quoting the Zohar.
That Zohar quotes the Talmud which describes this time as part of the redemption that the Sages didn’t want be alive to experience.
Like is mentioned by the Rebbe and many other sources, this period lasts for 40 years starting from the time of the Rebbe’s histalkut.
For here in the United States now, we are living the book of Ovadiah HaNavi.
With that context and following the explicit teaching of the Rebbe from the time of the first Gulf War, the time of the Pekidah, the “dress rehearsal for the final redemption”, the Rebbe stated repeatedly that the safest place in the world for Jews is in the land of Israel.
It was true then and it is true now.
That is not in conflict with the idea that the final redemption is not to be in a way of fleeing, like it was in the first redemption from Egypt.
For those inclined to move now, it should be in an orderly and calm manner without loss or hardship, going from strength to strength.
