I've only listened to the new album a few times but this is my favorite so far. Lyrics are simple but I think Christian puts some amazing singing and passion into it. The third "closer" gives you goosebumps.
I've noticed that my two least favorite albums (Lowborn, Dark is a way light is a place) have two of my favorite songs. Closer and Hearing Voices. My favorite song by anberlin will always be THE feel good drag though
I hate to say it, but I originally didn't like this album, but i think thats because this album was released around the same time as a different band's new cd that I had been looking forward to for an entire year. Now, a full 8 months later, having heard that other album a good deal of times I listen to Anberlin's new songs again and realize that it sounds a bit more like Cities when compared to NS. Bottom line, I was a fool to think that their newer album was inferior to their previous work.
@chadalac07 Fair enough. My reasoning for the not like Linkin Park sound is that the Linkin Park from the last few years have fallen away from their original sound which is what I grew up with.
I've always loved this band :) and no lol not really like LP at all, in my opinion these guys are better and are a different kind of rock. In short LP is simpler, always has been, always will be. Thanks for uploading this :)
@TrulyEmoFreak doesn't sound like the Linkin Park I fell in love with. The classic (and 1000x greater) Linkin Park. New Linkin Park, in my opinion, is just too far away from the sound I grew up with. Totally agree with you on one thing. This is an awesome song. lol
I miss old Anberlin, before they moved to a different label. "Blueprints for the Black Market", "Never Take Friendship Personal" and "Cities" were excellent. Now, they just sound like every other mainstream band out there. :(
