I read that the band said that it was about those people who hide their real selves from you, wanting them to give you their all. I don't think the song is meant to be dark really, just sort of longing. I like the contrast between the chorus and the verses. Shows the contrast of who one is and what the present themselves as. And the catchiness I feel compliments the fight we make so often to hide our true selves from others. Great song.
My favorite may still be a Day Late (or possibly Godspeed or Reclusion.. gah, too many good ones) but this is probably the best song I've heard on their last two albums. :3
I love Anberlin, but I do not think this last CD is their best work. Nothing on it catches my emotional interest like Inevitable or Retrace or gets me all up beat like Resistance or A Day Late.
