Thank you for showing the Gorse! I've always had a mild curiosity about it as I've read stories set in UK where they talk about gorse, and I would wonder what exactly it looked like. Never enough to look it up, but just curious. I burst out laughing because it turns out your Gorse is a plant I grew up around but know by a different name! I grew up calling it Scotch Broom, and it is one of my allergies when it's pollen is blowing about. I've spent a lifetime rolling up car windows whenever I'm about to drive near a patch and cursing to myself when I've forgotten. I do like the yellow flowers, so it is a plant I dislike close up but can appreciate at a distance! From context, I always had the idea gorse was an unpleasant, pesky thing - but now I will be able to nod to myself commiserating with the poor character struggling through a patch or exclaiming about the blooms on a distance hillside. 🙂
Hi Cheerio That sounds odd 😂. Its many found in the North but less so in the south. We love the brightness of the flowers but I agree with you. I now have a vision of some poor soul trying to get through it 👍
Its a lovely change seeing life on the Scottish canals, my parents were both Scottish and i still have relatives up there so its nice to see parts of it. The tow paths on the aquaducts are beautiful with the old cobblestones. I see what you mean about the steepness of the town, i bet you had to make several pit stops on the way back up lol. Thank you for that i really enjoyed it.
HI Steve and Chris. I am glad you managed to go to the palace as it is a fantastic place to visit. Just sorry it was closed. Loved the vlog. At least smudge had his own life ring as a bed. Greetings from Fish Hoek
