I didn't interpret that at all. Not the ego, the ego is dissolved at death. You get to see how you acted n thought throughout your life ( you get to see your ego in action) . That's not what goes forward. The essence of you does. If you reincarnate ( at the 3rd Barto) you pick yoyr next life. You will develop a new ego based on your new experiences n what you are there to learn n trancend. At least that's what I understood. Incredible Book !
Buddhism is not about magic, rituals, and radical ways of thinking. True Buddhism is simplicity. I am a Zen monk living in Japan. I know Zen is not entirely Buddhist either. But I look at other forms of Buddhism and think they’re way off Tamark. Chief of which, is Tibetan, Buddhism, and its counterpart here in Japan SHINGON Buddhism. Remember, Buddhism is simplicity, not complexity!
There are many different schools of Buddhism and if everyone of us learn the essence of the Buddha’s teaching and not deluge with new fashionable new age trends, then we can keep Buddhism alive…..
Wrong. True Buddhism has never been simplicity. The whole point of aspects of the Nikayas and Agamas was was radical ways of thinking. Then there is magic and rituals, backed up by Mahayana sutras and especially Tantras. Of course Lord Buddha and his disciples did magic and miracles, but in tantric contexts they are extremely powerful. You don't believe in Tantras? Why? You are a Mahayana monk? What differentiates Mahayana Sutras from Tantras? Answer this please. Both are divine revelations from the Bodhisattvas. You are greatly mistaken in your judgement, I pray that Avalokitesvara will guide you ☸️🙏
