Have done this ride more times than the Pope got prayers being from the Bay Area and and avid skier for about 40yrs....Even in the winter , if your not an idiot the ride is nice if Hwy 89 is open...Even when its hot, that water is cold....I know , ive jumped in the middle of that lake when it was in the upper 90's ...Gets your attention like that....Water is always bit warmer near the shore...So many kewl spots on the lake....My favorite, the warming hut on the mountain at Homewood Ski resort on West shore...Unbelievable views ...Another place we love in the winter is Sonnys's BBQ, sitting by the fireplace....LOL
Hello, I am assuming it's currently open. I would like to come and visit SF, Yosemite, lake tahoe, middle-ish september from Jersey. Do you think ppl from out of state is allowed in lake tahoe. Also, do you think cops will pull us over, since we will have a rental car.

When I was in California conservation corps in 98 we did a lot of the trail in that area and part of the Tahoe rim trail

I can't help, but American copies of original European houses, castles etc. always have the feeling of the fake buildings in theme parks.
