I have a (smart living) frig/freezer thermometer does not have access holes in back. Tried to pop off back plate, but could not remove it. Your guidance appreciated. Thank you.
SO, if this thermometer is out of calibration, how do you know what the temp. of you frig. is? Seems to me you need ANOTHER thermometer to make sure your frig. is at the temp. you are setting the first original thermometer to.
This is a great point I've thought alot about. Considering the wide range of temperature available, you could maybe calibrate it to room temperature based on your home thermostat setting but I'm afraid of the possibility of an office by the time it reached refrigerator temps.
My power was out for three weeks. It had been stable at 34 before the power outage. I have a thermometer just like yours. After the power was restored it couldn’t get below 40. I put a digital thermometer inside and it read 34 just like before I lost power. Just to make sure the thermometer was faulty I took it out of the fridge and it promptly indicated 75 sitting right next to my household thermostat which which is reading 70. I had never had a thermometer go bad before. Nice to know my fridge wasn’t broken.
Thanks for this great tip. I found my fridge thermometer in the oven and now it's completely out of whack. I did find the little tab but didn't know what it was. I was about to take the thing apart to directly move the needle, but hopefully I won't have to after watching this video.

I just changed my thumbs up vote to a down vote because you did not reply to me original question.
Got married 9 days ago and been honeymooning since. I'll take the hit
Best of everthing with your new mate Blake @@BlakesGarage1 Sorry for my comment, changing it back to thumbs up.
Looks like more the screw in the middle is for adjusting than poking in the side holes around, what reason would be other to have the screw ther. 🤔

What happens if the refrigerator thermometer has been in water before?
