Solo Female Traveller in IRAQ (Not What I Expected)

Everyone, almost everyone I met in Iraq asked me why I travelled here?
Many couldn’t understand it and thought that I just wanted to unnecessarily risk my life.
But for me it’s not like that.
In my opinion, the world's most remarkable archeological sites are located in ancient Mesopotamia - nowadays Iraq - with the most significant being the ancient Babylon, and there are endless other.
For safety reasons I decided to travel first to Kurdistan - the autonomous region in Northern Iraq - the most secure and stable part of the country in case the security situation would not allow me to travel further south to the Arabic part and fulfill my lifelong dream of visiting Babylon.
When I arrived to Erbil the situation escalated...
