Holy crap, what a gorgeous car! Such a difference from the fashionably cheerless “colors” of today. I hope its new owners treasure it as much as you have.
In 1957 Chrysler's entire line was given the Motor Trends' "Car of the Year" award and the Industrial Design Institute gave Exner and his styling team a gold medal. But it wasn't just the styling, 57 saw Chrysler use for the first time Ball Joints, Torsion bar suspension, and Vynl wiring with plastic connectors. The Chryslers were lower, the suspension tighter so they handled like sports cars. I know because I had a 57 DeSoto Fireflight in the 70s and I was the terror of L.A. freeways!
That is a real beauty. My Uncle Tony drove the 4 door version of this car. I can't remember if it was a hardtop or a sedan. It had the 2 headlight design, since the 4 headlight system was still illegal in NJ at the time he bought it. It looks much better with 4. It met its demise in 1961. My uncle had it parked at his country place in PA, but had not set the brake. Someone had leaned into the trunk to get something, and the car started rolling, and went right into the lake. Remember, these cars did not have a 'PARK' position on the transmission. You HAD to set the brake, which my uncle failed to do. He replaced it with a 62 Chrysler 300 Sport 4 door HT. Black with red interior. It was sharp!
I remember back in 1957 i was 11 years old and i had a older cousin that drove Desotos. He had a 57 desoto with the hemi. He said it did not have a top speed or if it did he never found it.
Beautiful. Original CA plates in 1957 would have been yellow with black letters. The black plates came out in 1963 and everybody (almost) tossed the yellows in the trash. Maybe new owner will put yellows back on.
I love the Chrysler!! The color is spectacular and I've never seen that trim before. Hope you were able to find a buyer, or will find an appreciative buyer soon. Best wishes!
The 1957 Chrysler Windsor is a Royal classic. ( The only thing I would change is the straight steering column. I would substitute it for a safety rack and pinion steering system.)
I worked for Chrysler Corporation for 38 years as a Tool & Die maker. I ' ve owned 26 of them. They were suseptable to rust as well as Ford and General Motors products , but not any more than usual. Maybe you did have a lemon 🍋 , but that happens in all brands. Good Luck with your next car purchase ! 🍀
We had a '58 Windsor 2-door from 1964-67. Ours was blue instead of red. It had been mostly garaged since new, but by '64 it was ragged. The front seat was replaced, the build quality was terrible. The paint was nothing like what you see here. Even with 50K on the odo, I'd be amazed if this car hadn't been completely rebuilt. The carb on ours was terrible - the electrical system was a disaster - the neutral start switch used to break. By the 60's this car looked like old hat, style-wise. BUT...in retrospect, a rolling piece of art? Agreed.
I wonder if Lee Iacococa took notice of this as an engineer at Ford. No wonder he went to Chrysler to eventually head the company and build these gorgeous Chrysler cars like the Newport!
Have even weery Nice Chrysler Windsor 57 100% solid.354 cui Engine weery good even the Aut runns grate..4dr no HT car.Thes are weery rare Thes Days I think.2 running cars in Sweden wath l heard!!!
Just have a look at that thing! while it may be long, pointed and a deep blood red, it’s not too terribly attractive. I couldn’t imagine taking it home to meet mother.
It would look better lowered a little without whitewalls, I don't like whitewalls. Would you wear white floor shimes? No, unless you want to be known as captain tacky, lol.

As a child growing up, I remember these. I thought they were huge…☺️
What a beauty! The 1958-only Studebaker-Packard "J" body bears a remarkable resemblance to it.
This could be the nicest '57 Chrysler in existence.
Volocars have a couple of '57 New Yorkers and a 300C but they are all north of $190000.

A real shame they skimped on the rust protection.

Behold the glory of the Forward Look! Mid Century art on four wheels, with a Jimmy Hoffa sized trunk. Ol Walter P would be proud!
What an amazing automobile
😍Beautiful car Charles!!!!!👍
Lovely colour. Great lines.

Never realized how much the front end mimics the 46-48 models with that gorgeous wraparound chrome!!! I need a 62 Chrysler so badly
Beautiful car
It’s fabulous without being ostentatious ! Chic is the word .. A very Elegant simplicity to the lines of the body
What a beauty! The GM cars from that era had a heavier look.
Charles your honesty is beyond refreshing. Chrysler did use a lot of pot metal.
Really nice Chrysler. Looks almost pristine, and in fantastic condition. Chrome, tail fins, whitewall tires - back when cars had soul!
Girrrrrl!! You are so fortunate to have this beautiful Chrysler in your possession. As a die hard Mopar fan, I am VERY impressed!! ✌️🏳️🌈✌️
Great car!
It is amazing how Chryslers base model car Windsor. This was Chryslers' least expensive offering in 1957, and it was so luxurious.
Good Lord, it is BEYOND gorgeous and the same age as me! However, it has aged much better than I have.
Stunning! Thank you for sharing it.
What a spectacular Chrysler!!! 👍👍🎃
I need to buy an extra few lottery tickets. GORGEOUS car.
Please do!

When I was a kid friends of my parents owned a 1957 Windsor 4 door sedan. It was all maroon.
I love the Chrysler!! The color is spectacular and I've never seen that trim before. Hope you were able to find a buyer, or will find an appreciative buyer soon. Best wishes!
It looks a lot like the Desoto Fireflight! I had that one in Dinky Toys when I was a little boy....
nice car i love the color and the year
Like a beautiful lipstick on wheels!❤

My father had a '58 Windsor. 2 door hardtop metallic green. He'd let me drive it when I was a kid sometimes on my morning morning paper route.
Woof, this dog is barkin my dude!
This is incredible, how could you ever top this beauty? 😊
Congratulations, Charles. Awesome car!
The car that put an end to Desoto.
They don’t make distinctive cars like this anymore! A Virgil Exner masterpiece!
Thanks Charles another beautiful car, thanks for sharing a great video my friend
SWEET! 🍬🍭🍫
Is this the same model car from the Stephen King movie,Christine? It’s beautiful!
No that's a 58' Plymouth Fury
what a beauty made my day
Charles nobody but you is elegant enough to be honest about chrysler pot metal and make it sound good.

Rolling sculpture. So absent on the road these days.

It looks like a 1958 Edsel from the side.

Love the Chrysler but the narrator of this video has an extremely obnoxious voice.
