Next to the Knicks, watching the Kings journey to the playoffs was one of the hypest things to watch this NBA season, hope to see them again next year!
I think only Kerr in nba history to have deserved it in 2015. Many other coaches in NBA history were against some great coaches. Also hard to argue against coaches having all time great in their primes. Maybe Phil in 96 for breaking the NBA record but people will always argue he has MJ. What Brown did was just amazing. From a 16 year drought to a top 3 in the West. Expect Brown to take the Kings to the next step and become a legit contender.
I hope to see the Kings in the playoffs again next season. They have a lot of potential and they seem like they will learn from their loss in the first round.
@@fadhil3648 well he's a FA, so hard to trade him when he is no longer in the team and a sign and trade is usually up to the other team. But Barnes needs to accept the role player off the bench and get paid like one. He is being paid as a co-star last 4 years, when he no longer is for the Kings. I thinks Barnes is a great locker room guy but he is no longer playing at a starter level. That's why I would be keep to keep Barnes but definitely not paying him 20 million a year as a starter.
@@Noah62405 im not signing Barnes for more than 15 million. There's a lot of role players this off season. I also think a lot of trades will happen. We already see a lot of coaches being fired and I guarantee at least one more.
I find the Kings the most wholesome team to watch, they're fast, fun and young, and De'aaron Fox did stay loyal to the franchise even when they didn't deserve it (Passing on Luka Dončic specially)
I am so happy for the Sacramento Kings. To push the defining champs to seven games as a young inexperienced team is impressive. They have a bright future.
That first round loss was devastating, but there was three major developments from it. 1. The Kings had the expertise and the willpower to push the defending champions to 7 games. 2. There's room for improvement (and that's scary for other teams!). 3. The Warriors gave up fourth quarters too easily. The Lakers saw that. "If it bleeds, we can kill it."
I'm a Lakers fan, but I give huge respect to the Beam Team for their performance in the regular season, especially Fox and Sabonis. Underrated, but scary. 💜💯🙌
11:57 The most dynamic part of this move wasn't getting Mike Brown for defence. During his interview, he laid out a plan to make them top 5 offence to get to the playoffs. They went number 1. The rest, as they say, is history. This was the Kings' year even if they didn't get the 💍.
I love watching the Kings, remind me of old Warriors team. The two funniest thing in the playoffs so far (1) Sabonis pulling a soccer move and acting like he got shot to the chest with a gun (I need x-rays) and (2) Anthony Davis in a wheelchair leaving stadium. Both players seemed pretty healthy after their near fatal incidents, LOL
Here is hoping Delly is brought back within the next year or two to be a quality coach under Brown. They both really understand the culture of a team, especially in Sacramento.
The Sacramento Kings were a laughing stock for the past 17 years. Now, they've came back. It looks like the Kings aren't much of a bad team after all. They have a bright future ahead of themselves. This is just the beginning
@jay warvz can you do one of spurs timeline from missing the playoffs and falling out of contention after the kawhi trade to getting wenbanyama and potentially be another dynasty again?
When Jalen said kings couldn't mess this up is because he thought whoever ever they draft between Bagley and Luka, theyre both were going to be good. The Bagley draft wasn't a bad draft pick. It was nevee Bagley's skills, it was gis availability. Still glad we didnt draft Luka or else Fox would had been shipped for Porzengiz and rather gave Fox over Luka.
@@alexescutia4805 Fox > Luka. Lukas game doesn't translate into an actual team ball. Luka is an overrated stat padder. In about 6-7 years, the same narratives that Westbrick and Harden have will follow Luka. Dude isn't dedicated to improving when he comes to overweight.
I love how much Mike Brown kept the team grounded and focused, from key franchise players - Fox and Sabonis - being models for the younger rookies and role players like Murray through to the calming veteran locker room presences - Barnes and Dellavedova - giving them preparation for Finals-bound, Championship calibre teams throughout the season. And finally, the Beam lighting the way and giving hope when the Kings had only seen darkness. Sure, it is a gimmick, but it worked wonders for cohesively linking the fans to the team and vice versa.
Hey man really appreciate your content. Would you be able to show an improvement/deprovement compared to previous ssason on the regular season win/loss bar that you make? For example, if a team goes from 35-47 from one season to 45-37 on the next could maybe indicate that on the bar. I think it'd help show how the team built on the record/collapsed from their peak.
Fox's potential, pick and trust was genuinely the breakthrough they needed. Shame that Cousins left already, but they wouldn’t have Fox to rebuild. Win/Win situation.
Could do a timeline of Miami and their conference finals appearances from the past couple years, and or a Iggy & Haslem career timelines since they’ll be retiring
Hearing Kendrick Perkins talk makes me feel like I’m losing brain cells. I’m glad the Kings were able to end the drought. This coming from a diehard Laker fan.
Congrats to the Sacramento Kings for finally making the playoffs after 17 seasons (the longest active drought in professional sports). Y’all are no longer the Sacramento Peasants.
I've been a fan of the kings since 2007. Obviously I've been through insane amounts of incompetence with this team. Drafting Fox was truly the stepping stone. I was sad about haliburton but I knew sabonis would be a positive player for us.
I am a firm believer that Vlade Divac held this team back so much for so many years. It was a blessing when they finally got rid of him in their front office
It’s insane when you go back over the last decade and look at how many draft picks we fucked up. If we would’ve drafted right we could’ve had rings by now. That’s how bad we fucked up. I love that we’re on the right path now, but my god that was painful. Year after year missing on all-star level players
Personal opinion: Jimmer Fredette - Could've been a 3pt specialist like JJ Reddick but not given an opportunity to grow Thomas Robinson - No comment Ben McLemore - Role player Nik Staukas - Role then bench then out of the NBA Willie Cauley-Stein - Has talent but why getting him if you're still keeping DeMarcus Cousins? Papagiannis (his first name is Greek but hard to remember) - Went back to Europe Those "draft busts" are part of poor organization the Kings front office are doing last decade. Tough scars for the fans too.
Marvin Bagley - Picked over Luka, constantly injured, traded away after Dad's tweet Tyrese Haliburton - Great player alongside Fox, but trading him away for Domantas Sabonis was the turning point that allowed the Kings to finally make the playoffs.
Just imagine they drafted luka instead of Marvin Bagley could have been the next big three de Aaron, sabonis, and luka Instead they drafted a bust as usual for Sacramento
From getting eliminated from the Warriors , and getting Draymond Ejected into game 2 , and 50 Points made by stephen curry in game 7 . I think the kings should be prepared for another season , unlike what sabonis did from game 2. Matured and helping the team out
