Have to admit though, I was not a fan of Marc when he first joined, but over the past 2 albums, I think he's improved a lot, sure it sucks ZP left, but I think DF has got a new style/identity with Marc's inclusion, and I'm really liking him now more than ever

Bret Chamberlain No doubt about that at all....granted, he's always been deemed "Mr. Scream", BUT.....he has ascended to a new level......I feel higher than ZP's....I think both deserve props, but Marc can transform almost any song to his liking....
Hard to believe this is DragonForce. Still taking time to get used to this new voice. I seen them live in 2008 and it was simply EPIC. Go see these guys live!!!
As much as ZP's voice suited the band 150%, I feel like letting ZP go gave DF a chance to start fresh, and maybe be taken more seriously. With Marc coming with a clean and great vocal range, and probably more professionalism, DF was definitely reborn. ZP was like Mustane in Metallica. As good as their skills are, there was something about them that was dragging the band down. And I say that as a big fan of both Mustane and ZP. Dave was always a great drummer though. So Gee replacing him isn't necessarily an upgrade, or downgrade. It's just a new awesome dude bringing us what he can do on drums. Big respect for what Dave left behind in the band, and big respect to Gee for stepping in and giving us a fucking incredible and seamless transition into the next chapter of the band.
In min 03:22, he looks like Thorin Oakenshield lol. So, i think here's the reason they choose "DragonForce" for the group's name. After defeat Smaug, they turned into a pro' drummer and found the band with others.
I thought I would really miss Dave when he left (he's one of the best drummers I've ever seen), but the new guy is doing a remarkable job, with a very similar style.
after listening to this song for over 10 times it is definietly my favourite DragonForce song so far and also my favourite music video. this song would be perfect if the parts where Marc sings "The time has come for me" at 1:29 and 4:09 were a bit louder (or to be more precise, a bit amplified). i feel like these two parts are too quiet for the deep and strong drums and guitars coming right after. it's just my opinion. other than that it's a perfect song that shows what DragonForce is capable of. great release.
They really feel much more mature and established as a band. They've always gotten better with every album for me. Looks like that trend will continue.

Sorry to say, but I listened to it. And on this one the trend stopped... Its a chore to listen to... I am not kidding. Only this track and Edge Of The World are really worth it in my book...
Astral Empire and Midnight Madness are pretty good, I'm very not sure what people would think about the latter half of the album though, doesn't sound like Dragonforce and the choruses are a bit poppish.
Ive had the album for around a week now. You are right in your prediction that this album continues to show evolution from the band. People saying some songs don't sound like Dragonforce don't really want the band to change from Inhuman/UBeatdown days. This album is a new beast entirely!
Oh yes Herman is a legend on the guitar, but Sam writes most songs for Dragonforce. Herman writes too, but I think Sam is the expert songwriter. You can't have it all.

after listening to this song for over 10 times it is definietly my favourite DragonForce song so far and also my favourite music video. this song would be perfect if the parts where Marc sings "The time has come for me" at 1:29 and 4:09 were a bit louder (or to be more precise, a bit amplified). i feel like these two parts are too quiet for the deep and strong drums and guitars coming right after. it's just my opinion. other than that it's a perfect song that shows what DragonForce is capable of. great release.
The things I love about power metal are the fantastical lyrics and the soaring vocals. The lyrics tell the story of a sort of journey or path
They really feel much more mature and established as a band. They've always gotten better with every album for me. Looks like that trend will continue.

actually the power within was amazing album, I never got into maximum overload but I will like the next, I enjoy 3 songs off the record so far, hope the rest will turn out perfect!!!!!
Sorry to say, but I listened to it. And on this one the trend stopped... Its a chore to listen to... I am not kidding. Only this track and Edge Of The World are really worth it in my book...
Astral Empire and Midnight Madness are pretty good, I'm very not sure what people would think about the latter half of the album though, doesn't sound like Dragonforce and the choruses are a bit poppish.
Ive had the album for around a week now. You are right in your prediction that this album continues to show evolution from the band. People saying some songs don't sound like Dragonforce don't really want the band to change from Inhuman/UBeatdown days.

Oh yes Herman is a legend on the guitar, but Sam writes most songs for Dragonforce. Herman writes too, but I think Sam is the expert songwriter. You can't have it all.
