When I was in middle school a friend of mine gave me a random mix CD. I had no idea who was on it, or what the names of the songs were. I saved them all to my Original Xbox and had to name them all myself by listening and feeling. I named them one by one, but there was this one track that really stuck out to me. I called it Black Diamond. Fast forward over 20 years and I stumble across this gem yet again! Thank you so much for posting this video all those years ago!

This is the my very first introduction of the awe inspiring album "Visions" back in 1997, had to "Special Order" the CD it wasn't in stock at my local music store at the time very first album in 1997 "Visions" bought on CD from "Stratovarius"!!! I was hooked,line and sinker from that moment on!!! Long time fan!!! Cheers to all metalheads everywhere globally!!! Rock on!!!

people think that this song has some kind of profound meaning but actually timo tolkki himself said that this song is about a dog. in an interview he said that he was writing songs and his dog wanted to play and he had to put the dog aside and resist the temptation to procrastinate from his work and go play with his dog, and the "black diamond" were the black eyes of the dog looking at him. thats the whole meaning of the song, of a dog that wanted to play.

I'd say Forever Free is the most "stereotypical" power metal song in the album, this one is a bit more original cause of the neoclassical keyboard and somewhat sad mood. But yeah amazing song.
