    I’ve watched loads of these cutting in videos and, for me, it’s way easier to take time taping up. It makes the whole painting experience less stressful too as you’re not as worried about paint going somewhere you don’t want it to.

      Well considering the price of tape blue tape wouldn't work you would have to buy green tape I think 2-inch green tape is at 1499 a roll I was taught to learn how to freehand with painting with a paintbrush I do utilize tape once in awhile but never for taping trim or ceiling lines but everybody has their own preference I don't have enough patience to set tape up LOL 😂😆 I would get frustrated real quick thank you for your comment and thank you for your interest keep watching and learn more

      @@RightWayInteriorpainting all good - I'm just an amateur who only decorates his own home. I buy the tape in bulk, it's only £8 for a 40 metre roll here in the UK.

    I've watched a ton of videos about cutting in, including ones by pretty high-profile UA-cam painters/DIY guys, and this one was by far the most helpful to me. I like that I can see exactly what you're doing, and that I get to see you do it over and over and over and over while you describe what you're doing each time. Also, you have a cheery, encouraging attitude, which is nice :) Oh, and I love the Boston accent.
    I'm halfway through painting my basement right now, and even though it's my first time painting, my lines are super clean. Thanks!

    Nice teaching video. Please consider talking about the type of brush/rollers and set up of pan versus bucket with grid etc. Please use a longer pole and save that back. Thanks for posting this, I look forward to more videos. I almost forgot to give you credit for cutting with left and right hand, well done.

    Just watched all of your videos. Good explanations! I found it useful to paint a house my friend is selling.
    You have a lot of good vids of what to do. How about some examples of bad technique and common mistakes and how to fix them when you make them? (Accidentally touch the ceiling with the roller, too much paint in your brush when cutting the baseboard to the floor, paint drop gets on the floor, washing brush)

    • @RightWayInteriorpainting
      @RightWayInteriorpainting  4 місяці тому +1

      Yes the trim was painted no the ceiling was not painted that wasn't part of the job for the customer

    • @RightWayInteriorpainting
      @RightWayInteriorpainting  4 місяці тому +2

      Normally when we do a whole room we paint the ceiling first and then we paint the trim and the walls are always last to give it a fine cut line

  • @gianthills
    @gianthills Місяць тому +1

    why are you hiding the inside corner of the trim? obviously you don't want us to see all the paint you got on it. You are using the roller incorrectly. You should not be bending over. You have a long stick in your hand so you do not have to bend. you will also get hurt that way. You also do not roll in whatever direction you want. you have to keep to one direction. if you don't you will see flashing, which means you will see different patterns on the wall once it dries instead of a uniform appearance.

    You should also never allow paint to exceed the first 1/2 of the tip of your paint brush bristles!
