- In this video I talk about a very powerful dehumidifier. This thing will suck the humidity out of a room! I hope this is helpful.
This is the dehumidifier on amazon: amzn.to/2XqA3Bf

these units are notorious for throwing a "'EC'" trouble code (sealed system failure) a few months after the "one" year warranty expires. Frigidaire uses to have a 5 year warranty on the sealed system; I suppose they would rather loose customers, than replace units.
Thank you for your help. I was trying to figure out how to run it on continuous and you helped me out.
You are welcome!
On continuous mode, if when the power goes out and comes back on, does the dehumidifier power on by itself ?
Does it ever stop completely? The fan seems to be always on.
what size garden hose fits with this? 1/2" 5/8" ?? Thanks for a great video!
I don't have air conditioning at the present moment, will the dehumidifier actually heat up the room from the warm air from the exhaust?
Just bought this and it won’t turn on? Any suggestions? When I remove bucket it beeps at me, so there is power, but I can’t adjust fan or humidity.
Mine is OK. I have a GE that works so much better. I run my GE at same temp and fills up in less than one day. I bought this one as an extra and if I put it in the same spot as where he GE is (and don’t run the GE) it barely fills up at all
I just bought it, an amazing device. Thank you for your video.
What kind of square footage does this cover...seems there are different answers tot this?
I bought one of these and it works fine, but the buttons on the top are really difficult to depress. I feel like the buttons are too far recessed from the top cover template. Is yours easy to deal with?
I have the exact same model that I purchased just 15 months ago. Unfortunately, mine died yesterday (September 05, 2023) with error code “EC”; 90 days out of warranty. I’m not quite convinced that Frigidaire is the best brand out there… Maybe all brands poorly built? 🤷🏻♂️
Yeah, it's to the point that I buy extended warranties for everything electronic. Allstate has great ones, they just refund you the amount you paid if they can't fix it.
The compressor locked up on mine. I'll have to buy another one
You didn't want to go with a 22 pint one?
😅 hello i guess I am not getting it if I don’t have a hose do I fill it up with water ????!!!! - thank you
No. A dehumidifier will take moisture out of the air. So it collects water from the air, you will empty collected water in bucket. i have 2 of them and barely use my AC unit in the middle of summer.
dumb question, but what is the purpose of the "fan speed?" if you are setting your desired humidity level, how does the fan speed factor in?
I'm pretty sure it means it works faster, so it dehumidifies faster because the fan is going faster. This is just my theory. I've looked at a ton of these and on many of them "fan speed" is an option. Hope this helps:)
@@TheInternetSorcerer you are correct! After I commented, I started researching and found the answer. Basically it just dehumidifies the air faster (but also draws more energy). Thank you!!
Had bought one of these failed a little under 2 years with ec code replacement failed in less then 5 months with ec code 3rd replacement failed in under 2 weeks ec code, just found one same model 50 pint at a yard sale , lady told me if i wanted it , it was free, she says it freezes up which it does, so not to sure these are amazing unit, they do remove moisture while they work but there are some major issues with these
Mine keeps stopping. How do I keep it running 24/7?
Use the hose for 24/7
I realize this video is a year old but giving this a shot: This is the model I have and inside where the bucket slides in, there's a metal clip where the button is that actually makes it turn off when the bucket is full. That clip is flopping around so it's not shutting off when it's full. I'm trying to figure out how that clip is supposed to look so I don't have to buy a new unit. Any ideas? Can anyone out there show a picture of where the bucket slides in so I can see what position that clip is supposed to be in? LONG SHOT!
Did you figure it out? I am having the same issue
Same here! Having the same problem and there is NO SOLUTION ANYWHERE! Even their customer service was of no help.
Crap. Hose drain feature does not work. They sell a kit to make it work, and that doesn't work either. I took mine back
Mine keeps turning off after 3 min!! Worked for only a few times
Oh that is so bad! I am so sorry!! Did you try contacting the manufacturer? These things are expensive they can probably help:) Good luck!!
Unfortunately, mine lasted 16 months, quality is not there.
Perhabs you needed to change an element?
I have one just like it and it will not run in any temperature room without freezing up, so I bought a different one that will work.
Same thing happening to mine (same model as in the video). This is the second one (I exchanged it a year ago).
Same. Disappointing. Lasted less than two years operating only 5 months out of the year. Had a Danby that lasted for over 10 years until I lent it to my dad and he decided to “clean” it by taking it apart and then it didn’t work anymore. Buying another Danby.
How has this dehumidifier kept up in the year since your review. I’m on the fence between this one and the midea. Thanks.
Hi. I'm getting a dehumidifier and I'm wondering what you ended up deciding?
@@dianeibsen5994 I couldn’t decide but the Midea seemed to have good features. I just got it and will be installing it soon. I will let you know here how it goes. I did purchase a Tenergy mini dehumidifier on Amazon for a small bathroom. While it does collect water it doesn’t really lower the humidity below 75.
@@lfuentes4098 okay. Thank you for your reply can you tell me what you mean by the features you're talkin about.
@@dianeibsen5994 well it’s supposed to have a set it and forget it feature. Takes the temperature and humidity level and provides a comfort setting. After I receive the Midea i noticed there’s really just two settings, medium and high. I have been using it for about a week in my bedroom that has a humidity problem. I don’t run it continuously because I’m in an upstairs apartment and it’s really loud. The fan isn’t too bad but the compressor when it’s on vibrates and is in the upper 60’s decibel reading. I’m afraid the downstairs neighbor will file a noise complaint. It does collect quite a bit of water. The humidity reading is quite different then the ones I use but it does lower the humidity a bit. I’ve read on reviews that it’s takes about a week of a continuous run for it to really affect the humidity. I think they are talking basements. Mine cycles on and off but never really shuts off. Compressor kicks on and off every few minutes and the fan runs constantly. So it’s pretty noisy to me. Hope this info helps. I think I’m going to contact Amazon or Midea customer service to see if maybe I got a faulty one. The Frigidaire has 3 speeds so that might have been the better choice. I will look for more reviews and see if anyone has used it in a bedroom with decibel reader.
@@lfuentes4098 okay thank you so much for your reply. I read that there's a difference between the refrigerant one and the desiccant one currently the refrigerant one is louder because it has the compressor. Are there some that have a decibel reading on the humidifier is that what you're saying?
Assume?????
"Awesome" when they work. Not so much when they don't. So far it's 0-2 with me.
mine died after two years!!!!!
So did ours, right at two years. Thank God we purchased the extended warranty through Frigidaire.
@@rickyhopkinssr1826 So did mine .Just 1 week short of 2 years.
Mine died with the EC code 2 yrs. Wasn't offered an extended warranty. JUNK JUNK not made in the USA anymore Chinese junk
Fridgidaire was a great product many years ago when it was part of General Motors, now it is absolute crap!
DO NOT BUY this appliance. Mine lasted only one season, and then the dreaded EC Code appeared and the unit shut itself down. (This is a very common fault-just do some homework on UA-cam and Amazon.) Resetting the unit did nothing. I called Frigidaire service center and they said there was nothing they could do, and they recommended that I purchase a new unit.
Frigidaire use to be a good brand but this brand has become crap! Be warned. Also, they outsource there customer service now. So getting quality help is not possible.
