This woman has had an incredible couple of years. Nice to see her get the recognition she deserves ❤❤❤
I saw Chernobyl when it first came out, i didn't know who was her at that time and i couldn't care less about researching who she was. Then The Lost Daughter came and she took my attention, which made me look back to see what else she does and i was surprised that the lady in Chernobyl was her. I'm so happy that her career is doing great
please welcome for the second time jessie buckley
Her performances in I'm thinking of ending things and Fargo s4 were amazing
I want Jessie to appear in more musical movies. Her singing was absolutely incredible in Wild Rose. A typical "A Star Is Born" story but her performance has so much weight and energy that it made the movie great and extremely entertaining. An overlooked movie and absolutely worth of watch for her performance and for her incredible singing. A great actress and a great singer
She was in Cabaret in london and it was one of the best performances I’ve ever seen
You need to check it out the song latter never come she sing it with actor Luke evans great voice
welcome back
Here's the live cast recording of her Sally Bowles: ua-cam.com/channels/8hDjgTxmhW4bzQFr6JenkA.html.
Shit film. Irish actress to play a Scot, and an English actress to play her mother. And Rose wouldn't have gotten into America anyway, with a drugs charge against her, thus trashing the central point of the film. Awful 'writing.' But Buckley can sing, I'll give her that.
I have come to the conclusion that there are simply no boring guests from across the pond. They are all quirky, witty, extremely talented in their art, and just a joy to watch on a chat show.
😍🔨👁️ yes across the Pond had some very very very Fine Talent
To be honest with you the talent from over here doesn't have the money or pressure your talent makes, so they tend to be happier xD
@playgoogle3364 She's Irish, born & bred, from the lovely Co. Ciarraí.
@Play Google She was born in The Republic Of Ireland 🇮🇪🇪🇺 an EU member state 50 years we are not part of the UK or GB haven't been for 100 years thanks from Dublin 🇮🇪🇪🇺
@Play Google If I'm born in The Republic Of Ireland 🇮🇪🇪🇺 train and live in the UK does that Make me British even though i dont have a British passport only an Irish one
I can’t help but laugh when she laughs. I just love her! 💖
Consider myself to be a huge fan of Jessie Buckley as The Lost Daughter caught me attention on her talent and then research what else she has done in the past like Wild Rose, Fargo, Misbehaviour, The Courier, War & Peace, I'm Thinking Of Ending Things, I consider her to be one of the most exciting actress working today and I cannot wait to see this for her
Check out the British mini series The Woman In White. She's excellent I'm it. But some trigger warnings that it does involve domestic abuse, medical abuse and deplorable sanitarium conditions. Nothing graphic, but they are fairly intense.
Her voice is incredible
She gave one of the best performances of anyone in _War and Peace_ , and considering the cast of that show, that's saying something.
@@bossyboots5000 I've seen that miniseries. Good miniseries with a solid performance from her
Glad to see Fargo there. What about Men and Taboo?
jessie!! i love her so! she has such a screen presence in every one of her films... what a sight to behold.
I remember her from way back on 'I'd do Anything' where she came runner up for the role of Nancy. I still have her performance of 'The Man who got Away' in my playlist.
I've followed Jessie Buckley since I saw "Wild Rose." She's one of the best actors working today.
She truly elevates everything she is in with her performances.
Only watch Wild Rose for her singing, wasn't dissapointed one bit. Love her acting in that movie
Jessie Buckley is the TRUTH! 🤩
Amazing talent. Loved her so much in Fargo.
She was incredible in Fargo. Such a talent.
Yesssss! She literally did the best part and was such a hit!! 💯🥳
Brilliant actor… delightful personality… best wishes health, joy and wellbeing… 🥂 🖖🏻
This woman its pure gold
My first time seeing her was in the Fargo series. She was amazingly sinister. What a great performance
.she is such a versatile, accomplished actress. She can play any role amazingly. And wow what a voice.
Jessie Buckley is riveting on screen. In Lost Daughter she completely blew me away
Beyond beautiful and so talented! Love this woman.
It must be nice for anyone to be friends with her. She seems very energetic and enthusiastic about anything and I love it. She doesn't stop laughing while telling her Christmas story proves how fun she is
Well, I love her. She seems very fun & happy.
Jessie Buckley is delightful. Until this interview, I did not know that she's Irish! In Women Talking, she's intense and very important to the story. I just watched the trailer for Wicked Little Letters and am very eager to watch her and one of my all time favorite actors, Olivia Coleman, together being naughty.
WLL is out now. Enjoy.
I will always love this woman
Jesse Buckley AND Olivia Coleman? I DIED.
One of the best actors out there. Absolutely charming. Really cannot say enough nice things without being a weirdo so I'll leave it there. 😂
She was great in of my favorite films of all time - I’m thinking of ending things
I can't wait for her Colbert Questionnaire
She's a triple threat lately - Cabaret in London, on stage; a nominee for the Mercury Prize (best British or Irish album of the year); and all her acting work.
Forgot video games
Just got home from watch Women Talking at the cinema and she was great! I cannot believe she was snubbed out of a golden globe nom, along with Claire Foy. I was hoping Rooney would have also gotten a supporting nom but nothing.
Those awards...idk, sometimes they are just off.
@@ImahSillyGirl I feel like the Hollywood Foreign Press people are biased, sleeping on indie films like this and Nicholas Cage’s “Pig” .. I hate it when great films get snubbed .. No noms for the series Yellowstone either .. like wtf .. great films and series and no golden globes or Oscar’s ..
Omg "And that's it!" I loved that 😂
Her smile.... wow...
🗣COUNTY KERRY!!!!!!!!!
Stunning redheads unite!!!!
Si, yo entiendo 😘
I watched Wicked Little Letters today and can confirm she’s so funny and brilliant in that too!!
I can't stop staring at her mouth... I'm in love with her mouth... the color, the shape, how it moves, the sounds and words and thoughts coming out of it... just wow.
I also love that Cabaret with Eddie Redmayne was part of this dark parts with dark stories continuum. She was so stellar in that show.
Stephen is so happy!!!
Love Jessie ever since seeing her on the Graham Norton show, and not realizing I’d seen her in Tchernobyl only attests to her talent. But seeing Stephen doing fake laughs, what’s with that? She carried her whole own interview…
Yeah I think Colbert was a bit mesmerized. I don't think it was fake laughing, I think he over laughing 🤭
After watching his interview with Sarah Polley, and now this one with Jessie, I wonder if Stephen felt nervous to interview them about this movie in particular because of its themes. In both interviews he kind of fumbles his words and seems to be worried about saying the wrong thing
That laugh.. oh she is a sparkly bunch of fun.
Just watched Women Talking (I know I’m too late already) my goodness gracious! Why did I waited so long?!! Did this film won the Oscar?
Her acting is amazing
Love Jessie!
I have loved Stephen Colbert for years. It is getting harder and harder to watch him interview women. He needs to learn how to talk to women as something other than baubles. A whole new world would open up to him and men like him (well meaning middle aged white men) if he was able to connect with the complex humans sitting before him. Asking this guest during an interview about this particular film to do more rom coms because she is so joyful and funny is like saying “you would be prettier if you did films where you smile more”.
I believe people may actually learn much about the world of women who have been brutalized in this way, then, because of the same patriarchy but incorporating a religious teaching, told to forgive.
Versus speaking, spending time seeking retribution or not, and healing, and choosing to forgive.
I can’t wait to see how this movie is received and she’s a 🌟 in every way
she's such a delight!!
An excellent professional and women. Kudos
Future best actress, easily. Chernobyl and Wild Rose were both excellent.
Watch ‘I’m thinking of ending things’!!! Amazing movie and a must watch to the end.
I’m never been this in love with an actress before.
She’s so divine
She's just amazing.
First comment!!!! 🥰 Go Stephen !! Can't wait to watch "Women Talking"!
Ms. Buckley is truly delightful! I first saw her in _War and Peace_ (which is great and everyone should watch it) and her real personality is such a contrast to her character in that show (Maria Bolkonskaya). I suppose that just means she's even better at acting than I thought!
The BBC War and Peace adaptation was fantastic!
Such a wonderful woman. Huh? She's Irish? Ah, that'll be it 👍🇮🇪😉
I first saw her in clips on UA-cam from the Royal Shakespeare production of The Tempest, as Miranda. She's lovely.
Her work in "The Last Post" (2017) was also brilliant.
I will watch this..anything she does is amazing. I fell in love with after I watched Fargo season 4…so good.
This is one talented actress. She does have good range when it comes to acting, she's paving her way to be one of the best of her generation, much like Saoirse Ronan.
Being a mega fan of both her and Saoirse, I desperately need a movie with the two of them in it! Any genre would do!
I've seen her in a bunch of movies and TV series and I can confirm that she's one of Irish's best young talent alongside with Saoirse 🙌🙌🙌
Oh dear. I thought Irish Italian was rowdy but Mexican Irish is kicking it up a notch!😂
Fabulous woman
i love her
She would be great in a romantic comedy!
She’s also incredible in a very meh season 4 of Fargo
Indeed. She carried that entire season, IMO.
I loved that season!
What a lovely girl
Steve, why can't you talk about "So I'm Thinking of Ending Things"? too depressing? too great? It's seriously great
Weird he didn’t mention it. Amazing acting in that film.
I would have given her a full hug, wife be damned. She's from County Kerry after all. And offer a shot of Jameson or Bushmills.
I love this woman way too much
I’m Thinking of Ending Things is undeniable
She's so cute and bubly. I love her
Great voice her and Luke evans deserve a Oscar for latter never come love that song I can listen to that song all day long
Her laugh!
Love this woman. Literally. She’s got a great laugh and such a “guys gal” air about her that makes me think she’d be really fun to hang out with.
"Guys gal"? Nah, she's just Irish, we're all like this. We're just up for the craic.
Stephen she was hilarious in Fargo.
So pretty and a good actor too!
The only thing I've seen her in was Judy, and she was brilliant.
I think it’s important to clarify that Jessie doesn’t have the story exactly right. The attacks themselves are from a true story, but not the women’s meetings represented in the film. The story of “Women Talking” was written as a (masterful, incredible) novel by Miriam Toews in 2018 that imagines what might have happened had the women had the opportunity to gather and create something new and different. The real women did not have this opportunity and some reports suggest that the attacks have continued. I think it’s important both to acknowledge the reality of the situation without idealizing it, and to give credit to Toews as the creator of the story.
What's ringing at 5:45?
Jessie Buckley
omg. did Colbert just do the equivalent of, "you need to smile more with your acting," with his last comment about Jessie being funny so why doesn't she star in a rom-com?
I worked in Rede Record's reportage, back in 2014.
Delighted she is now getting the spot light an amazing ACTRESSES not Actor sick of this political correctness to b seen to b fashionable
She truly is a delight and recently I wondered why she played in movies like "Men" knowingly hiding her bubbly and delightful character.
3:17 Uh oh, she’s figuring out the “applause sign” gimmick.
'The Great Jessie Buckley' Mark Kermode.
"In the bleak mid-winter."
Yo Stephen, bring on Andrew Callaghan and interview him about his HBO documentary "This Place Rules".
She so reminds me of Isabella Rossalini!
Why not Sarah Polley?
whose phone was that rudely interrupting in the background? I wanna know, lol
she's so pretty
First time seeing her was in Doolittle.
Oh Stephen, “post COVID”?
The news no longer discussing what’s happening doesn’t mean it isn’t.
Surely you know there are more COVID hospitalizations this year than last year.
She was scary good in Fargo Season 4
The Village was a good movie
You buried the lede. All you had to say was, "Sarah Polley directed."
Summer in america ?
Wow, the captions here are so bad that they completely turned some stuff into the exact opposite of what was actually said.
She’s so beautiful it’s a crime
JFC, Colbert! “You’re a bubbling font of joy! […] You’re so funny […] Don’t you ever just wanna be the fun ‘love interest’ in something?”
aka … MAN: You’re so pretty! Why don’t you smile?
DO BETTER. “Steven Spielberg you’re such a great story teller! Don’t you ever just wanna make Rom-Coms? Something completely light?” Don’t remember you asking him something so trivializing about his work?
Barb liked Catcher in the Rye so the story went.
For decades, 150 cases have been registered in the Manitoba colony, a place where about 4,000 Mennonites live. A religious group that lives according to the tradition of two ancestors. Even with the seven-suspect prisoner, the attacks continue. To try to understand what is happening, the team of Domingo Espectacular travelled to Bolivia. What link?
@@obeahpantie YT erased it. If you search: rede record Manitoba mulheres estupradas na Bolívia, it will take you to the video.
Shit
I’ve been just giggling
Remember her since I'd do anything but I've never warmed to her atall. I've watched her in lots of things and I just can't get on board with all the hype.
seriously?
Yes, but does it pass the bechdel test
I have seen some real hate about this film on reviews of it because its 'feminist'.
Its a fictional story about the conversation the women could have had, about true events they suffered through. Because the women hate them men they live with for what they did, the comments talk about how the women hate all men because some of them want to kill them. Its baffling how men who watched it came to that conclusion.
