Mega Construx did make the darker skinned Donatello. It was in a 4 pack with 3 Rock Soldiers. It was part of the last wave was pretty hard to find, at least in stores.
I'm pretty sure I only ever saw that 4pack on Amazon, along with the Samurai Leo vs Mousers(?) set. At least I think it came with Mousers. I heard the Donnie & Rock Soldier set had QC issues where the Soldiers' heads fit too tight & would break off at the neck. Might have been a factor in them being hard to find.
Man, the 2012 line was so much fun to collect! That's the one that got me back into Turtles after years of focusing on Star Wars pretty much exclusively. I also started picking up the Mega Construx blind bags based on the 2012 series around that time, which led me into the 80s cartoon & Mirage Mega Construx sets. 😅 Edit- Metal Mutants box set! Love that vac metal!
My personal favorites, the ones I view as the quintessential appearing like the ‘87 cartoon is the old S.H. Figuarts. It was a bummer it was canceled before the shredder release. Second place is definitely the NECA “color guide” turtles since Michelangelo has a neat nunchuck accessory that looks like he’s spinning them.
12:50 - If you look more closely at those reissued movie star turtles, you'll noticed they reused Leo's body for all four turtles, they all have Leo's scar marks on their shells and his limbs. The original movie star turtles all have different scar markings in different places and their limbs were made to hold their weapons. With Donatello having Leo's sword hands, it makes it tricky to get him to hold his bo staff. Also, I think they used the 2012 turtles' colors for this reissue.

Amazing! There are so many different ninja turtles figures especially from the late 80s and early 90s cartoon. Your missing the Third Movie, Next Mutation, 2003 Toddlers, Fast Forward, Rise Of Tmnt, Batman with Ninja Turtles, BST Figures, Funko Pops, and Coming Out Of Shells Tour Neca. I even have the 1992 Toon figures and Trolls Turtles you're also missing. Hope you get IDW Comic Figures they just made. Next year is the 40th Anniversary.

I have almost all versions of the tmnt 2012 series. For the 87 line i have the original playmates, star trek, shell storage, Neca ones including the arcade versions and 87 classic ones. For the mirage turtles I have Neca, elite playmates turtles. I have the 90s movies playmates, samurai turtles, all 3 neca sets. I have the basic Next Mutation turtles minus Venus. For the 2003 I have the original, fast forward ones, battle nexus, paleozoic ones and other versions too. I only have the basic 2007 turtles too. I have the 2014 and the sequel movie turtles. I also have Rise of the tmnt figures. Soon I will grab the mutant mayhem ones.
Not gonna lie... If NECA stood up and said "Hey, we're going to make a highly detailed and articulated set of the Paramount/Bay Turtles, I'd probably buy them if they were as good as the New Line ones!
Nice collection of turtles especially that 2012 vac metal set because it reminds me of the old 90s metal mutant figures which i loved so much as I was watching ronin warriors at the time. my favorite turtles are definitely the 90 movie figs, the trench coat raph that comes with casey jones is a grail of mine. I also have a soft spot for the first neca mirage turtles box set which got me back into collecting turtles again. I wonder if we will see another company maybe import releases their versions of the mutant mayhem turtles, those designs work perfect for modern articulation. Will you be picking up the recently released IDW turtles from from loyal subjects? I have mine on preorder and can't wait to them to release.

I still think we got robbed on the UNIVERSAL/TMNT line... nobody was Dracula! So since Splinter was Van Helsing, why the hell didn't we get a Dracula Shredder all capped-up and fanged under a removable helmet?? COME ON, NECA!! You set the pins up, now knock em down! It's right there!
I think you missed the most important 2012 figure.Which was Revoltech Tmnt 2012 figure.They were the most show accurate tmnt 2012 figures.And they had alot articulation than any other turtles.I hope you soon collect them via internet if they are available.

So has anyone seen the new Mutant Mayhem film? It's surprisingly good. I'd happily pick up one of those toys (Mikey or Raph in particular, they're my favourites, moreso the latter), because the designs are some of the best these Heroes in a Half-Shell have seen. However though, nothing will top the 1990 film.

Oh, I hadn't noticed the mold reuse. That explains why they look off. I definitely see the colors matching 2012

I think the update movie star turtles uses the color scheme of the 2012 turtles.
