The CVT sholudn't always be spinning... You may need to take some weight out of the cetrifugal clutch shoes if they're grabbing at low RPM, or maybe the idle is too high and causing the shoes to drag. There should be ZERO drag on the system at idle. GoPowersports has aftermarket carb kits, cam kits, flywheels, everything you can think of for the predator, if you need it. I cant wait to see you bombing this thing around town. I want to see how it handles the snow

If you haven't heard of them, check out Robot Cantina on UA-cam. They're doing some similar stuff, including a Predator powered Saturn and a Kubota diesel powered Saturn. Might be up your alley.

Such a puzzle! I expect it will do fine once sorted. Drove over the bump well.
The crushed into cube part shocked me.
Longer intake and exhaust system will improve air velocity inside the engine

Hahahaja i suggested that centrifugal clurch when you started this project ...its simple yet effective check the weights in the clutch probably to much weight for disengagement of the drive portion... easy fix! Cant wait to see you blast this thing around town

The drive clutch on those Amazon CVT’s are junk, I had similar issues with mine where it wouldn’t completely disengage. You can buy a Comet drive clutch on its own and pair it with your driven clutch. Drivability/engagement is so much better. Also noticed the air box is missing, if you rejet the carb you should be in good order.

A better clutch will have a spacer pipe that free wheels that the belt rides on that prevents the vehicle creeping until you rev the engine and belt always spinning.

what you have built is a microcar-go. they have a cvt then a manaul gearbox for reverse, at idle the cvt output doesnt spin, so should be possible for you. ivew worked on a few , there rare here in the uk but they exist.

@@mikem5475 Maybe not better, but more adaptable. The interface could make for easier tuning than an analog carburetor, especially if it would require jets/needles/metering rods/ whatevers to be modified or made from scratch.
The most adaptable carburetors I know of are old-school SUs. I love those things. You can use them on anything from a motorcycle to a V8, there is that much variety and overlap.
