Hi guys, I wait always for your new videos that are little gems about my region. There are a lot of beautiful places to visit seldom not well known by the same people that lives in Sicily. Continue to discover and thanks for share them with us.
Congratulations guys, since you are in this part of Sicily you must absolutely visit the archaeological area of Selinunte and, if you are looking for something unusual, also go to the Cretto di Burri, which is located in Gibellina.
@@TheGlobalExpats Yo can find Zabaione all round Italy, not every Gelateria will have it but is pretty common. It's just egg yolks, milk, sugar and Marsala.
Really enjoy your videos and fun personalities, Matteo and Micha 😊 You've been keeping me company in the past 2 weeks since I discovered your channel. What a unique place and that sunset is stunning! I also love that music you use for extended scenery shots. Lots of Love and Blessings your way. ✨
Those clouds at 9:15 are amazing. As for the Marsala, I can't imagine more than a tiny glass of it, as I use it only to make desserts like zabaglione. But maybe it goes with the cheeses?
It's true!jajajaj Everybody visiting Marsala has that sensation of a tiny town. Most of the tourists enter through the Porta Garibaldi and they stroll up to the amazing Cathedral and if they have time, they reach Porta Nuova, and that's it!. On the contrary,I would define my town as "citta' territorio" which has no translation in english, but the meaning is that it is more a vast territory than a simple town! If you consider that from south Marsala up to north you can drive up to 30 km you can realize how big it is!
I subscribed!! You two are so good!! So nice and your videos are so good. You both look so kind and so excited about the travel!! Im American with my mom side Italian ancestry. My grandmother was born in Sicily but grew up in NY. Marsala. You must try Chicken or Veal Marsala. Not Italian but Italians made this in the USA. Amazing delicious dish very popular in the Northeast of the USA.
Ok: It's important understand Marsala is not a wine that you can drink to dine. This kind of wine is not suitable even as an aperitif because it is very strong. It's a fortified wine that you can drink at the end of a meal like a digestive.
Great video! Planning to be in the area late September. Already excited to explore! BTW, the technical quality of the video, is very high. Curious to know what kind of camera was used?
In the north there is no siesta ( which is a Spanish word..).. People at work have a lunch break, usually an hour, most shops don't close at all... But in the north people have dinner at 7/7.30 not at 9.30/10 like on the south!
@@robertopezzutto5843 The hot weather in summer time doesn't allow us to keep shops open betwen 13.30 and 16.30. Moreover, they wouldn't sell anything because people are in the beach! jajajaj We do beach break in Marsala!
Thank you for this video, heading here on Wednesday! Great shot of the bottles of wine too, very useful. What was the vinoteca that you visited called?
Hey guys! We have a little under a dozen videos left for Sicily. We are in the process of figuring out our next region so it's not set in stone yet, but we will keep you updated 🥰
If you guys could pop up a map of the region during editing it would be very helpful. You say it’s windy “on this side of the island” we don’t know what side you mean. Love love the video tour!!
Along with Mazara del Vallo, Marsala is the other Sicilian city where the Arabic influence of local cuisine is strong. Couscous is part of local cuisine.
Not only for cooking. It's excellent as an aperitif with aged cheese and as dessert wine too. Actually, any moment is perfect for sipping a marsala wine! The history of this wine dates back to 1773 when some English merchants discovered it during their stay in Marsala, for other reasons. As they were(and still are) heavy drinkers they decided to export it to England. So to avoid the wine got ruined during the long journey back to their country, they added brandy to the local wine. By so doing they created the "fortified wine"which was later on called Marsala Wine. The wine is classified based on colour, age and sweetness. The alcohol content ranges from 18° up to19° and it is made mostly from white berries grapes but from the red ones too(in that case we have the Ruby Marsala). I'd like to stay hours writing about this amazing wine...!
vicino le saline sta lo Stagnone con altri isolotti e saline , al centro della laguna e posta l'isola di mothia , un area archeologica , una città fenicia in mezzo al mare.
Marsala is sweet vine as Porto Vinsanto vermouth etc. Is not a wine for dining. It's like a liquor but with light alchoolic gradation. It' used on dessert cakes ICE cream, cream and as aperitif Sorry fo my english
@@TheGlobalExpats with any luck I will make y way back in the early summer or late summer. I have made great friends in Marsala. Keep enjoying your adventures an I will keep watching. 😁. Happy New Year!

That was a beloved Grey Mullet. The Sicilians and Sardinians love them. Especially the Bottarga they make make out of its roe.
Thanks Matt for the very interesting content about the salt flats and processes 😊

It's funny: Marsala have 83.000 inhabitants. For the foreigners it's a very small town. For the italians a medium size town.
For us Hungarians a 83.000 inhabited city is a provincial centre.
