Erice has been one of my favorite places I’ve visited in Sicily since living here! We visited during the week of Christmas and it was something straight out of a movie. Decorated beautiful and such a cute little market in the city square!
Hey Kristyn, what part of Sicily do you live in? I moved my family from Canada to Sicily three years ago. We're about an hours drive from Erice living in a little town called Santa Ninfa.
iremos en unos meses más con la familia...................haremos el teleférico............limache, chile....................gracias un gran video, los felicitamos.
I have been to Erice 3 times in the last 8 years and have taken both the cable car and driven up to the town. They are both great ways to get there but the drive up can allow you to stop at different vistas so that you can get out and take some beautiful pics for your memories. Either way they are both great to do..
Ciao! Crazy to find someone with the same name in these comments. Where are you from? I am originally from Wisconsin, USA but now live in Florence, Italy. I am looking to move to Sicily in the spring, possibly to Castellamare del Golfo. It sounds like you are familiar with Sicily. Where might you suggest to live there long term? Again, so funny to see someone with the same name here. I look forward to hearing back from you. Paul in Firenze
Whenever I go to a new town or village in Italy, as soon as I check in and and drop my bags, first thing I do is wander around and find all the bakeries / pasticcerias. As I know there’s going to be many a visit during my stay 😋
I was there in July 1999. It was scorching hot and sunny but cool and misty in Erice. You two explored much more than we did and it is evident a lot has been restored and updated since 1999. I am pretty sure there wasn't a funicular back then. Very nice video as always. Looking forward to Ortigia and Siracusa.
Yes! Another video! I’m currently halfway through college, which means I don’t have the funds to travel at the moment. You guys help out quite a lot, and have also made Italy my first destination for when I do finally get to leave and see the world. Keep up the great work guys!
That sounds incredible Dawsyn! We are extremely happy to hear that, it is an awesome country to begin your journey. We have all too much experience budget traveling so be sure to take a look at some of our earliest videos which can help you out! Study hard and stay safe 🥰
I was going to say how could you visit Erice without visiting the pastry shop of Maria Grammatica but you saved it for last. I actually got a chance to meet her when I was there. She is as delightful as the pastry in her shop.
You missed the rear of the pasticceria , there is a beautiful space with garden and place to eat seated at 'tavolini'. A suggestion for the next region to visit when the weather turn warmer: Tuscany. About the same quantity of things to see (and eat, drink) as Sicily!
We saw the beautiful space outdoors but unfortunately it was raining and wet when we were there, so the outside was closed 😓 Thank you, we should be exploring Tuscany soon! 🥰
I have been there for two weeks during June 2017. Really incredible place. This video introduced me to some historical places which I was not familiar with. Papoli Castle was then the place of eternal peace for me. The town is famous for some unique wines as well. Moreover, different food courts should had covered in video.
A new video!!! So excited. The energy and passion that you guys have, always makes every video worth the watch!👌🏼 I really hope that someday I will have the chance to go to Italy too!
Wow! Another video gem!!! Thank you guys! Erice is a splendid place to visit! The right place to find in summer fresh and cold air when down is hot. The cakes are impressive! Thank you, pizza assured!
Hi! this is really a great video! 22:50 - In Erice since 1963 there is the "Ettore Majorana Center for Scientific Culture". Every year the Center hosts several workshops and conferences covering different scientific disciplines like physics, medicine, chemistry, astromony, law etc..
Great video as always ! I have never been to Sicily but after watching your videos I want to go there, I think you were unlucky about the weather in general even in October it’s warm and pleasant
Thank you Gianluca, you should definitely plan a visit to Sicily when you have the chance and hopefully when the weather is a little more predictable! 🥰
@@TheGlobalExpats traveled solo to Sicily in 2019. I drove up for a few hours however drive up was stressful but beautiful. Thank god I rented automatic car or else I’m sure I would have had crazy issues with the drive up the mountain. Lol. I got stuck on one of the narrow roads because someone parked poorly and had to drive in reverse for a while. Crazy time. All this to say, I’m glad that you guys were able to show me more than I was able to see as I left shortly after my driving adventures to see Trapani.
We were there just before you guys in September and they let us take our Yorkiepoo to the top of the bell tower and into all the churches. It was the hottest August in history and the rainiest October!
Aww that’s awesome John, we hope you had an amazing time! 😍 and yes the weather during those months was crazy - August was ridiculously hot & then October the Medicane hit! 😳
Another good one. We were looking for somewhere on the west to visit and Erica looks like it. I wonder if the Trapani Card is still going. We'll see you in Alto Adige in June...
Great job guys! Discovered your channel looking for info for Messina. Thank you! Your videos are very informative and very well filmed. I can’t believe just 2 of you did it. I have a few questions. Will look for your Instagram to ask them there.
Hi Mateo and Micha, great video, love the tower sights. I rode the huge cable car down from Mt. Rigi in Switzerland and was kind of terrified! Beautiful view, but I think once was enough for me. That one is small😅
About Maria's bakery. We took your advice and to be honest we really regretted about it. All sweets pretty mush the same test. They are all sprinkled with sugar and it prevails over everything else. They also were dry and obviously not fresh.
Sembra che tutti vanno in Sicilia soprattutto per il buon cibo.! Come mai i bravi cuochi siciliani quando aprono un ristorante all’estero , non riescono a fare gli stessi cibi genuini e gustosi?! Perché solo in Sicilia ?!
@@TheGlobalExpats nice video. Congrats guys u so nice. I'm Italian from South living and working in Portugal Lisbon. I really appreciated your video and the real sensations u tried there. Keep going on

Love the Erice video! There is so much history AND Goddess history to share about this mystical town!
Thanks Jodi! 🥰 Yes, there is so much to this town, it’s incredible 😍
Ciao Jodi, I also see your comments on You, Me, and Sicily!
“The museum has museum stuff in it” haha! Well put. Cheers Kirk
Love the length of these 30 minute videos. They are perfect for the step mill. Pretending to climb towers with you!
I am so looking forward to going here and all the other places you guys have been to!
We were hoping to see more about your trip to Milan. Meanwhile, it was a nice town tour . Thank you.
You two are still my favorites. I love you both and I want to let you know that I will be moving back to Palermo next year. Remember me Pasquale !

Awesome Video again guys! It's always fun seeing this place through new eyes. Erice is one of our favourite little day trip getaways :)

That city looks so great. Adding to my list. Also adding that “pistachio” ball, lol!
I love your Italian adventure. I hope to make it to Naro, Sicily this year, the comune where my grandparents were born!
Amazing videos guys, so uplifting, perhaps you should do one on the budget and how you survive there without working
The drive up to Erice was a little wild. You did well to take the lift. Amazing views.

happy new year, you both. have a nice travel year 2022!
Aww thank you so much! 🥰 Happy new year to you too! 🥳
Love you guys, Matteo a little bit more ❤️❤️❤️
Cool. I lived in trapani. Erice is a nightmare in the winter. Freezing cold. Cool vids. I took the bus cause the cable car is closed during winter

Wish you could have gotten a behind the scenes with the bakery
Sicily is one of the most interesting place on the face of the earth. I want to see the Stromboli volcano at night while it is erupting.😍
They sent a warning in the form of a fire 🔥
Would love to know where Micha’s backpack is from!
Similar place in Sicily is Pollina.I visited Erice and Pollina in october 2021.
Love your channel and love your camera. If not a secret, what camera do you use for making videos ?
Aww thank you so much! 🥰 We film in 4K on our iPhones 🤗
Pistacchio ❤️❤️❤️ annnnd add alcohol 😍
Two beautiful ingredients! 😍
My guess is, to,warn the others of an incoming warship, maybe light a bonfire? They did that in Denmark around the north.
❤️❤️❤️
What camera do you use ? Great video quality
