    Hi Chioma,
    I graduated in bachelors in Social work in 2017( well got the transcript in 2018) will ACWA would do my education assessment. I also have relevant work experience of 3 years or more.
    Also, could you kindly enlighten from the perspective of AASW. In my country my field work requires of 250 hours of placement. Thr hours you mentioned of 980 hours has also an addition now as, if i have a valid work experience after my graduation of 1 year, i am eligible to apply for an assessment. Basically what are the chances of my profile getting a positive review?

      All you need to do is register with the province you need to practise your social work since you got your social work from Canada,it won't be hard.
      First send your credentials to the Canadian Association of social workers and then go to the province.
      You can even write to them and inquire,they will respond to your email and give you advise.
      You don't need to have practiced.
      But si

    Hello there Chioma, greetings from the Philippines! Mabuhay! Finally found someone who has a genuine experience being an International Student particularly in Social Work to being a Social Worker in Australia. Your shared experiences in your videos, from family to work to migration from being a mom, to being a woman who just wants a little spare quiet "alone time" at home. I truly love your videos they truly inspire people like me who wish to migrate as a Social Worker/Community Worker in Australia.
    May I Ask for your opinion, If I do stand a chance in the assessment for ACWA? I am currently a Resettlement and Development Officer in a Government Housing Agency in my country, currently with the position for almost three years, our responsibilities focus more on tagging and census operations, socio-economic profiling of targeted housing beneficiaries particularly those of lived in danger areas and the marginalized. We also do consultative sessions with the community and other stakeholders and socially prepare them before the actual relocation and their resettlement to their new homes. Prior being a Resettlement Officer, I was also a Community Relations/Support Services Officer for almost 6 years with the same agency. Tasks are mostly conducting motivational information campaigns to community, gathers feedback information and drafts proposals for community services. Conducts/assist in trainings for the community.
    I am really confused if I should get a student visa and take MSW or be assessed by the assessing authority, I hope you get to ready my comments, and I really appreciate if you could spare your time for a reply. Thanks in advance and more power. God Bless! please do make more videos.

      @lifewithchioma  2 роки тому +1

      Hi, the assessing authority's website will give you all the information you need to assess your skills in your occupation, including how to demonstrate work experience. If your assessment is positive, that is when you express interest in the PR visa you want and begin the application process.

      Hi Mrs Buch, to be honest, I am unsure, but my opinion would be Yes. The assessment is only relevant for migration purposes or if your prospective employer requires proof of membership or eligibility for membership with AASW.

      Hi Vanishka, if I understand your question, my answer will be yes. You will still need to submit your master's qualification from ACAP to be assessed by the AASW for migration purposes. Thanks for watching

    What would you advice in your own opinion for someone looking to move to Australia but is not registered with AASW. Will it be to look for job fist or register with council first?

    • @lifewithchioma
      @lifewithchioma  2 роки тому

      Hi Hazel, you do not necessarily need to register to AASW to get a job. You only have to demonstrate that you meet eligibility for registration (in other words, that have a social work degree). For migration purposes though, you would have to apply for a skills/qualifications assessment before you apply for a migration visa

      In Australia, the minimum requirement is a Bachelor or Master's degree. I am not sure what that means for a graduate diploma obtained overseas. Please email the AASW for further clarification.

    Hi Chioma ,
    I am Ghanaian who read Social work as a major and study of religion as a minor in college.
    On my certificate it was written “Social Work with Study of religions.
    Am I eligible to apply for skill assessment where religion has been referenced on my certificate?
    Thank you.

    • @lifewithchioma
      @lifewithchioma  2 роки тому

      Hi, to be honest, I am unsure about the attached 'Study of Religions' bit. A part of the assessment involves comparing the units/subjects you studied with the Australian equivalent to determine if you completed the core subjects that will qualify you here in Australia. If that comparison is positive, then you have a chance of getting a positive assessment. My suggestion is to email the AASW and see if you can get some advice on that. Thanks
