It was a very special era - not that long ago really - but we’re such a different society now - this was my happiest time of life and I can’t help but feel the negative change that came around 2007 when Facebook and social media and smartphones became ubiquitous. It has had a huge, and in my opinion detrimental, impact on our world - these technologies have shifted us into addicts constantly attention seeking, constantly looking for mass hysteria and looking for things that might be offensive. Everyone seems to want to share or know about opinions and are constantly complaining if those opinions are misaligned from their own. Its dividing us all. Life was just better without the constant connection. Such constant connection and drive for consensus and homogeneity will kill our creativity, and the individuals that create banging tunes like this. 😭

I usually try not to get too wrapped up in nostalgia so much for the fear of the present never being good enough or not enjoying the moment, but this song evokes a feeling that I don't hear too often from progressive/trance nowadays.

Very true - another issue is how social media has in some sense supplanted normal human relationships. People are more connected today, via broadband at least, than they have ever been and yet something real and human has been lost in the process and I think the lyrics of this track perfectly call out to that now supressed part of our being. I actually get a bit emotional listening to it. And yes it's a bangin' tune! :-)

Story time: I managed to catch this song when I was a teenager at the time. Peer pressure, mental strains of anxiety, depression, isolation and nowhere to turn were all fixated upon me. This song helped keep those feelings at bay - in hopes that someday, I may the feel joy and happiness that I so longed for years and years. A family and 2 kids later, I have this song to thank for helping me through it all and I hope it can for anyone who needs this message too! Long live Trance!
What a great fucking story lv. Honestly lv…good for u. Ya see I wasn’t so lucky…I ended up getting addicted to heroin and crack at 17, fast forward years, I’m 34, been clean just over 6 months, which is an achievement to me. N I’ve always listened to choons like this, love trance, 90s etc but this song has always resonated with me, and makes me think about my bad choices and what life could of been like if I took a different path. So basically…u had the normal life that I craved for but it was too late. But to hear your story lv…honestly your comment gave me goosebumps lol. My girlfriend used to play this when she was sad and alone and wish for someone to save her and do all those things. Now she has them with me and we love to enjoy it as a happy song now. Every time we play it she lights up. To you Alison❤️

This song brings it all back, the music the late nights the trance the euphoria.... in our late 30s and early 40s and we still get that feeling to want to go back to it when we hear this song. I was born in 2002, which means that unfortunately I was never able to join those Trance Energy parties or even Love Parade (because I never knew it existed). Yet, this song is very nostalgic for me. It reminds me of the old days. I reminds me of the days dance music was much different than what it is right now. There isn't a single song that is this nostalgic for me. 'Need To Feel Loved' inspires and motivates me to make music. I wish there were more songs released like 'Need To Feel Loved'. Maybe that day will come ;)

i always come back for this one.. because this one it's too special for me, I don't know why... maybe it was one of the best times in my life, and it reminds me how good my childhood in 90' was, thankfully. When I heard it for the 1st time in 2005 it became my favorite song immediately, there were days that I heard this more than 2/3 5 times a day. It's amazing that I'm so fanatical about music that I even produce for a hobby, with so many millions of music I've listened to since 1990 until now but this is still my favorite song until today. This is a epic song same as robert miles children. And anyone who was born in this era and loved electronic music like me knows well what I'm talking about and doesn't forget. Always been a fan of house/techno especially more trance. The memories The feelings of nostalgia are strong in this one, the old days of vinyl and tapes also :)
All the samples and elements all sound so good together and mixed in this song, the kick and bass, the Violin/Cello, pad, synth and ofc the vocal, and the other instrumental's and effects. All amazing... This is what me influenced to study music and produce. This type of music that's connects us and have fun with the people, that made me to live, have a happy life.
