Okay so the deacon is what is created with the engineer and the trilobite. the trilobite is presumably the reaction between the fetus and the black ooze that was slipped into that girls drink. This is not a precursor to the aliens but it does give background on the engineers as a species and how they created the face huggers which was being carried by the space jockey in the 1979 alien film. The predators fid not create them but nearly farm them as part of their rituals. A skull of the alien can be seen at the end of predator 2 so it is shown that they hunt xenomorphs. This film is not a huge prequel on the creation of xenomorphs because it seems like they had been around forever considering the space jockey was fossilized to an extent so the face huggers had been there forever. This is merely a film on the failed mission of the prometheus to explore the engineer world. The deacon is not the original alien just another variation. Remember xenomorphs take on the traits of their hosts.
