Klay's dropoff has been so catastrophic, I actually won't be mad if he leaves. It might just be the change both he and the team need. Just like all teams in the NBA that have reigned as champions, there comes a time when reality sets in. Klay might go ahead and sign with another team and get his contract dollars. But if he shows himself to be the Klay of old, the Warriors might pull something to try to get him back. I said before the season ended Klay Thompson would leave Golden State, it makes business sense. As for Andre Drummond, I felt they should have added him during the regular season to make a deep run into the playoffs. He will be fine with the Magic. Look for Andrew Wiggins to be the next man moved in what would be a reduction in payroll but stay competitive.

Just a negotiation tactic but ultimately it doesn't matter whether he stays or goes the team is cooked as far as contending is concerned. Doesn't matter what roster moves they make or don't Kerr and Steph are still there so the system as we know it will largely remain. A system that has shown over the last few seasons to be very much lacking in almost all aspects of the game. They don't defend as well as they once did nor is their really anything to speak of offensively outside of Steph. No one else can reliably get there own shot or create for others and the team remains small and physically overmatched most nights at almost all positions. We just had a whole post season that showed the importance of size, athleticism and positional flexibility. The Warriors as currently constructed have almost none of those things up and down the roster. The sooner the team and fans accept that the past is the past and look to the future instead, the better off everyone will be. 36 Year Old Steph is not a player to build around regardless of his past accomplishments and level of play.

KT has shot poorly in key games multiple times over the past two seasons. The thing is, the dubs signed Kerr. He was a big part of the problem this season. They might as well sign Klay at this point and ride off into the sunset. I'm not sure the super small ball 6'4 center type of deal is gonna work. We'll be trading for Jacob lanyard as our guard for the future under Kerr while signing Bronny as the team's PF.

Just a negotiation tactic but ultimately it doesn't matter whether he stays or goes the team is cooked as far as contending is concerned. Doesn't matter what roster moves they make or don't Kerr and Steph are still there so the system as we know it will largely remain. A system that has shown over the last few seasons to be very much lacking in almost all aspects of the game.
They don't defend as well as they once did nor is their really anything to speak of offensively outside of Steph. No one else can reliably get there own shot or create for others and the team remains small and physically overmatched most nights at almost all positions.
We just had a whole post season that showed the importance of size, athleticism and positional flexibility. The Warriors as currently constructed have almost none of those things up and down the roster.
The sooner the team and fans accept that the past is the past and look to the future instead, the better off everyone will be.
36 Year Old Steph is not a player to build around regardless of his past accomplishments and level of play.
Well, he can't be more than a role player going forward. He was never a 2nd option at any time so he'll really have to make that adjustment mentally.

KT has shot poorly in key games multiple times over the past two seasons. He & Kerr together (their history & relationship) can’t seem to find a new nonstarter role for him that works for all parties involved. It is time for him to move on.

The thing is, the dubs signed Kerr. He was a big part of the problem this season. They might as well sign Klay at this point and ride off into the sunset. I'm not sure the super small ball 6'4 center type of deal is gonna work. We'll be trading for Jacob lanyard as our guard for the future under Kerr while signing Bronny as the team's PF.

Klay was a good player, a big part of GS dynasty. But, he needs to realize that he is not the player he once was. He should ask for less money, and know his role on the team. The Warriors would be crazy to give him the money he wants.

@SwishCulture Drummond cannot play in the Warriors scheme, he is too slow. Also, Kerr would not play him anyway. Do you watch the Warriors. They are not going to play a plodding center. TJD is their ideal center type.
