Dear teacher.
I was not attending online classes for a while.
I'm sorry for causing disappointment.
From now on, I'll try to attend on time as much as I can.
The dearest inspiration in studying Russian has disappeared from my life... but I realised I'd still like to learn this wonderful language. However, this time, I found it very difficult with this loss.
I will try my best.
Thank you for the lecture.
I have been thinking about you and wondering why we haven't seen your comments here for a while.
I am so sorry about your news 😢
I hope your 💔 will heal and something good happens in your life very soon.
I will keep you and your dear one in my prayers.
May every Blessing be upon you & yours 🙏
Sending you a hug
@Miracletoyou Рада твоему возвращению, Miracle! 🧡

3. продолжение следует...
Impressive! 👏
Btw, have you noticed that "unique and inexplicable phenomena" usually manage to occur again?!!
😳🤔🧐
@@lilyrose4191 Hi Lily. For me the most inexplicable phenomena are the wars that keep breaking out!
But you now which ones did you mean?

Dobra outra.
Доброе утро! 😊
He has a "hall" of a brain! That's how clever this guy is!
Such a big brain, that it "could fill more than a mere room ... an entire hall instead ... a hall full of incredibly intelligent people!"
"U nego uma palata !"
However, it could also be used in a sarcastic way. So in that case, it could be referring to someone who isn't very smart. Or about someone who isn't as clever as he or she pretends to be.
Or someone who has delusions of intelligence.
It depends on the context.
Or for someone who accidently did something stupid and is sarcastically "praised" for it 😒
Hi Lily.
I hope you're feeling better today.❤
I like your take on this idiom! It also made me think of the BBC series Sherlock - where he delves into his "mind palace" when investigating...😂
Someone with a brain the size of a planet - mostly uninhabited!
Not sure where I heard that one!
Love and best wishes to you; have a lovely weekend! 🏵🌼🏵
Pete just said " What about ' the lights are on, but no one's home." ?"
😂
Hi Sasha and Pete Hope you are both fine ☺
Thanks for the good wishes 🤗 I had a lot to do today, but didn't even try to attempt it as my leg is more painful today than yesterday 🤕 I'm fortunate it is isn't broken.
Anyhow, hopefully on the mend soon 🍀
Pete is right: "The Lights are on, but no one is home" 💡🏚came to mind when I first looked at that idiom too.
Pete can quote Sherlock, "I got it right!" 🧐🔎
The following is according to 'Russia Beyond' -:
"The hall or chamber of the brain" (or intelligence). The proverb is usually attributed to very smart people. "He is incredibly clever" is replaced with "He has a hall of a brain!"
Meaning his brain is so smart and large, it's bigger than a room (Russians used to believe the size of the head and brain indicated intelligence). The bigger the better!
"Palata" in Rus means a huge hall where important political and military people met.
There were also Tsar and clerical halls - gatherings of educated and clever people - that ruled and decided.
"He is a walking encyclopaedia." Similar meaning.
However, it can also be used in a sarcastic way.
The old version of "The hall of the brain" is "There is chamber of brain, but the key is lost."
Another version: "There is chamber of brain, but there is lack of mind." *
(* Sounds like my local council chamber!)🧠 🏚😒
So, you can't enter or use the hall, as the key is lost. It's useless. Therefore it came to mean 'a person who doesn't know how to use their brainpower.'
It became attributed to clueless people!
@@lilyrose4191 Спасибо, Лили! Очень интересная информация!👌
