Depends on the state. All the federal government says about it is that states *can* prohibit felons from voting if they want to. (That was a 1974 Supreme Court decision, Richardson v. Ramirez, so it could change, as SCOTUS has been known to reverse precedent). The federal government itself doesn't prohibit felons from voting or running.

Are you being facetious? U.S. Constitutional Amendment 14, Section 3, explicitly states that no one who has previously committed acts of treason, or given aid or comfort to such persons, are ineligible for such a role. This is something SCOTUS deliberately twisted so that an oath-breaking insurrectionist _PRESIDENT_ is exempted unless and until decided differently by a 2/3 vote by Congress. This is NOT what the Constitution _says_ , but SCOTUS clearly made this b.s. ruling to keep Trump in the running. It is a blatant example of how corrupted Trump-appointed Judges have delegitimized SCOTUS.
