Hook's bass Morris's drumming the glue that held New Order together 😊
New Order never fail to smash it live. I was also at Reading in ‘89 to see them. A weekend that I will always treasure but not totally remember for all the right reasons
Hooky's bass...such a distinctive sound that takes me to my 80s happy place!
Australia loves NEW ORDER.
I was and still am a big Joy Division fan, I really loved that band, especially the album Closer. New Order are also very good of course, right in my wheel house. As for song suggestions, Joy Dvision "Passover" would be a good one to do here.
Was lucky enough here in America at Summerfest in Milwaukee Wisconsin 2013.❤
I know there are many things and requirements you have to meet.
Love the banter and the fact you play the whole. Playing link Ray it opened a major door to some of the greatest rock bands in North America. Interest ing how Rory Gallagher did not get mention in Irish week. Two guitar legends keep up the good work hoping to see more music for North America check out Laurel canyon and Hait asbury growth of North American rock
FAN (pun intended) bloody tastic. Every thing you said. Thanks
Brilliant. One of my fave bands and they are still performing today. Be a rebel (Bernard’s outlaw mix) from 3 years ago was a banger.
That was so much fun, thank you, I love them so much. I actually saw them last (I've seen them many times) in 2021 in New York, MSG, with Duran Duran. I was visiting friends and saw they would be on while I was there, I got my friends to get tickets for us and it was an unforgettable night, 2 of my favourite bands, and such a different atmosphere than I'm used to in Aus. So grateful to have experienced it. ❤
So cool!
When you have to immediately replay. Love this song. New Order were hugely popular in Australia too. I remember dancing to this in the clubs back in the day and we used to sing along like this. Never got to see them live.
The video of the original studio version with the Cirque de Soleil performers is a lot of fun too.
Delightful, and fun to watch you two recap the phenomenon we lived through in the 1980s. Inimitable and life changing, New Order forever!
We were there!
It’s great to when there’s the right meld of tech/synth with humans and traditional instruments. Top stuff.
That was a fabulous performance! They definitely had the crowd on their side -- didn't see any cups or bottles full of urine being tossed at the stage, lol -- but, George, come on now. Q: When did you guys meet? A: I don't know, I think we were 5 or, maybe, 8 years old . . . not exactly a narrow target (I'm teasing you!)
my favorite band since early '80s...great energy from the lads//troutbumandsam
That's my weekend listening sorted, new order what a band. I have to argue with you about Glasgow crowds though. Best crowds in world I reckon. They go crazy, as you can hear.
Also I remember Reading, didn't hooky try to set his base on fire with a Zippo and fail miserably?
The best live version of this IMO is the Glasgow 2006 show, it's amazing. My fave NO song all time.
Yeah was in the Carling Academy in 2006, I was happily there, and the band seemed happy too 🙂
How awesome
Music for the ages, it never gets old.
Some people diss the 80s music, but damn, there was a lot of great music back then.
Ooops I just commented before it started my fave version, the Glasgow show, a-fucking-mazing. 2006.
You should listen to the studio-version,too !!
When you watch them first time in 1979 1980 at Long Island we’re they had great fans then they were they were a lot movie soundtracks like married to mod greatest live performance
Say again?
You guys should do the hooks lights band love will tear us apart live
That was brilliant. Please more.
Amazing, as always! Listening to this I was struck by a familiar guitar sound that I couldn't, at first, place. Am I imagining it or did The Cure incorporate a similar guitar part in some of their work?
Manchesters finest 😊
and Salford
@@charliegeorge9393 I'm from Salford precinct Charly! 😊 😊 😊
Heartbeat music.
Was this the concert in Glasgow?
More Alex notes, and done twice!! Well done on that BTW.
The band does indeed have an interesting sound. Seems like really good road trip music if you are driving a ways early in the morning.
Back from a club
That would have been up the top of the scoreboard if you still had it.
Ah, sweet nostalgia... I remember having them blaring from my car. ❤
You still can!
Never heard that one from them before, what an introduction to Temptation.
What a song to discover for the first time. Glad we could help
Moby grape
Nice..! I hope you keep doing live concerts 💜
I hope so too!
Hooky forever!
Nice.
Thank you! Cheers!
Interesting sound may have to listen to another track to get a better feel for the group right now I would not walk out of a concert but not sure I would rush to buy the album
They came from a new place and set up whole new genres of music
