I loved seeing you review this bit of SW "What if?" history Joey. While some of the concepts were certainly present in this initial script, I'm so happy that we had all the changes that we did. It's still wild to consider where it started though, especially knowing where it ended up. Those are some huge changes for sure. It would have been amazing to have been a fly on the wall to watch the process as it blossomed. I'm so thankful for George Lucas - not only for his imagination & creativity, but willingness to evolve the story well beyond the initial script. It could have been easy to have been stubborn & not open to the changes (having written a lot myself, I completely understand that mentality). Great topic for the channel. Looking forward to getting deeper dives into this here again soon.
Thank you very much for going over this. Loved the video. I'd like to see someone make a movie about George Lucas making movies. Having parts of the movie where Lucas is going through draft after draft of that little "space movie" no one wanted. :) I think that would be a really good movie. Thanks for the video
Lucas gets all the credit, but so much of what made Star Wars a instant classic came from other people. Left to his own devices, Star Wars would have been another flop scifi flick.
