Ahsoka Episode 1 & 2 Review with NO Spoilers | Some Concerns
I remember hearing in an interview that Joseph Campbell said that George Lucas really nailed it (the use of mythological symbols and archetypal positions). And yes, Joseph Campbell really did enjoy Star Wars. :)
You are the BOSS ❤❤❤
Thought for sure I'd know all of these after all these years Joey. But did not know about Harrison Ford's ankle injury 🤯. If I was forced to choose, ESB is my favorite SW film. So anytime we get more behind the scenes and more information on the film, I'm all in. Thanks for digging deep & bringing these fun & interesting facts to the small screen for us buddy. Great work as always! MTFBWY
Kasdan wrote the 5th and final draft, which became the shooting script. Lucas had actually written 3 drafts of the script that he described as being closer to the finished film. Kasdan got the job because George liked his script for Raiders
Couple things to point out about Leigh's original 1st draft: 1. Han Solo survived the whole film 2. Luke's father and Vader were separate characters, with Luke seeing the Force ghost of his father on Dagobah and taking the oath of the Jedi from him
The initial copies of the comic had the original visual concept of Yoda with blue skin
I had a Yoda puppet and a Slave 1 as a kid
At the time they were filming in Norway, Scandinavia was going through its worst winter in 50 years
According to Empire Of Dreams, Lucas initially budgeted 25 million dollars for ESB, it ended up going 10 million dollars over budget
Fun fact: When Kirshner told his agent he'd turned down Empire, the agent's response was something to the effect of: "Are you crazy or something?"
Please give this video a like!
Great y

I like that elephants were used often in SW. Banthas, TIE fighters, and used as a study model for the motion of an AT-AT's walk. :)
I support you.
"It's J- ☝️😀 .. oh, Ok .. " 😮 "Yer mom's a jizz wailer" 😄 Jus' kidding. :) I have that ROTJ comic and the one with the alternate cover.
Mark Hammil tells an anecdote about a conversation he had with Alec. Alec told Mark not to address him by his accolade/title, Mark asked if he should call Alec "Big Al" or something. Alec laughed his butt off and from there he and Mark got along famously. Apparently, Alec loved irreverent American humor
Awesome ✅
That's what I love about Lucas's galaxy, there's a familiarity and the unfamiliarity of the Star Wars galaxy. You've got the French accent for the language for Twi'leks, African for Ewoks, and a skewed Vietnamese(?) dialect for Rodians.
How they make the sound is even neater From what I read years ago it was made using a CRTtv and waving a microphone back and forth in front of it
😂😂😂😂😂You'll believe anything.
@@strategygalacticI mean the concept for the noise sabers make is using random technology so not too off the mark. Google it
@@strategygalacticI worked on a project involving star wars sound design and that is a valid choice that would've been possible
Speaking of lawsuits: Lucas sued Universal over Battlestar Galactica saying that it was too much like Star Wars
You should see the Jabba from the original 1977 Marvel Star Wars comics
Supposedly Carrie Fisher was one of the few people to have a DVD copy of the Star Wars Holiday Special, she got it as payment for doing the audio commentary for the Original Trilogy DVDs She would play it at parties... when she wanted everyone to leave, lol
Actual 1977 budget was 8 million dollars,it went 1.25 million dollars over budget. An 8 or 9 million dollar budget, while low for a feature film at the time, was typical for a sci-fi film
Fun fact: In a very early version of the script,Tarkin was a Rebel commander
I've known fact #17 for years The reason why Lucas ended up.killing Kenobi was because he realized that Kenobi was essentially useless after they got off the Death Star. Lucas knew he couldn't have a character that important essentially be useless,so he made the decision to kill Kenobi. Alec almost left the project because of it. It's why Lucas had to create Yoda for Empire because all of the training scenes in Empire were supposed to be Obi-Wan training Luke. Yoda's death in Jedi was actually supposed to be Kenobi's death
With regard to #2 on your list: Another big influence on Star Wars was the Flash Gordon serials, in fact Star Wars came about due to a failed attempt by Lucas to secure the rights to Flash Gordon
You should've seen the Jabba from the 1977 Marvel Star Wars comics
Brother, you didn't go into why the sound was given to the Lightsaber
I have that in another video. This was just to highlight the original plan.
@@StarWarsRewind Ah, well that explains it then lol
Silent, but deadly. :)
All Day!
Should have been a Movie Franchise
Ah, yes, the Negotiator
"9M?! We could make our own movie for that!" "But who's gonna direct it, kid? You?" "You bet I could, I'm not such a bad director myself."
That's a little less than the entire movie cost to make! Jack Nicholson made a similar deal for Batman. Not only did Nicholson get top billing, but also a piece of the box office, but Nicholson and Keaton both got money from the figure sales.
Nicholson got top billing because he was the bigger star out of the the two. And the action figure thing is pretty common, but can be and likely was separate from their contract with the studio, because of likeness rights. The figures weren't just of a character, but a character that distinctly resembled them enough that people would know it was Keaton or Nicholson in toy form.
@@bufordhighwater9872 I know this. :)
I doubt Nicholson had to negotiate much for top billing. He was by far the biggest star in the movie and marketing strategy alone would have made him either top billed or as a co-lead with Keaton, and still listed first. Keaton was still a comedy guy in '89 and Nicholson had at least one Academy Award and multiple nominations. Giving him top bill added gravitas, a real piece of cinema, not just a goofy movie for kids or a madcap comedy.
This is what Jack got for Batman in 1989: 1. Salary 2. A percentage of the box office/profits/ticket sales. 3. A percentage of the merchandising, including a cut of home video sales
@@bufordhighwater9872 With very few exceptions, actor or actress likenesses are not their property, but either the property of the studio or whoever is making the film. For example, Lucasfilms owned the rights to the likenesses of the entire cast of the 1st 6 Star Wars films. Arnold Schwarzenegger is one of the few exceptions to the rule as he owns all rights to his image/likeness,you want to use his image for something, you have to ask him
DECLan. Not "De'Clan" you silly sod
Thank you 😮
I’d of been fine with the Guy he was dressed like the warthog / wild Bore men.
The gamorreans?
@@pixxeltrap2590 ye thats the one
@Bart-Did-it He really does match though.
In the special edition scene in the Tatooine hangar Han Solo even has a line where he says "Jabba, you're a wonderful human being"
Is that Patrick Duffy and Victoria Principal
Now, it seems to be adjacent to The Star Wars Universe. Fuzzballs are in the upcoming Disney + series, Skeleton Crew.
Just do it
He’s always been trying to get Han killed.
Why wouldn't the ejected seat be sealed and able to fly/propell itself to safety?
Thank you 😊
Wookiee
in the case of the original trilogy, we remember both heroes and villains for a long, long time
Ok...😮
Thank you 😅
Better yet Star Wars’ (a New Hope) budget was only 11 million in 77’ and it became the most profitable movie ever made for decades and it’s still arguably the best in the franchise
