1: There is something like 2 men for every 1 women in Alaska
2: It's extremely rural outside of the population centers, therefore crime is easier to get away with.
3: A lot of these super rural places don't even have a police force, so you'd have to wait hours for a state trooper to get to you, if you are even accessible by road. Lots of villages are only accessible by plane or snow mobile.

Im from South Dakota. Beautiful state but the Pine Ridge reservation has more rapes than the entire state combined. We have many Native reservations which are ridden with drugs, alcohol, and sexual violence. They get minimal funding and are a hub for crimes. It largely contributes to the anti-colonial attitude Native Americans have due to the land largely being stolen via war/laws at some point, leaving them with minimal funding for schools and positive resources.

The reason Sweden's rate is so high is because they calculate it differently than most countries. If a woman is being abused in her relationship, and says that she was raped, say, every day for a month, most countries would count that as one rape occurring, but in Sweden it would be counted as thirty.
