SCHD is one of my biggest holdings. An absolute beast of an ETF, especially when paired with Voo or DGRO! Thanks for dropping over on my channel by the ways, hopefully I can grow as big as you in the future!
One ETF (SCHD) investor. My entire portfolio is SCHD. No regrets and I am totally fine slowly compounding. It has performed remarkably in this downturn and cash dividends make this a perfect ETF in my book.
@@Dividendology Growth, solid dividend, dividend growth, low PE, good companies, diversified holdings, low expense ratio, not market cap weighted, solid company (Schwab), only a 100 companies (as opposed to 1,000) chosen through value metrics, makes this exactly what I was doing with individual stocks, but automatic and without worry. Perfect for me.
Fantastic analysis and clear projection of future growth with this ETF! This style of vid is interesting and would be a good combination with your usual stock analysis vids: analyze the stock as you usually do, and then project dividend payments out over future years.
Great video. Some people that active managers and higher fees means better returns. Wrong…it has proven that the lowest expense ratio is in Index funds or individual stocks. Remember it is the final money in your pocket, NOT active managers (per Warren Buffett).
I just started a divden portfolio and building out other positions but I do have 2 shares so far of SCHD along with 20 O 6 JEPI an 4 VICI I am sticking with theses for long time to build them out but SCHD will be my biggest holding
Any thoughts on SCHD compared to FDVV? Top 10 holdings are very different between the two but both have similar dividend rates though FDVV is trading below 50% of what SCHD is. Taking both ETFs into consideration is SCHD still the best bet?
Put it in your Roth and have it auto reinvest the dividends. You will have a steady flow of free cash when you're 59.5 and you don't have to sell a single share to pay your expenses.
Great video, do you know if there is any way to invest into SCHD as a European? Or if there are any equivalents? As American ETF’s are not purchasable in the EU.
ETF valuation is wayyy different from typical stock valuation. Much harder to come up with a specific buy price, but if you are planning on investing into SCHD for the long haul, a DCA strategy can work well.
You can buy US based ETFs even if you are living in Europe, using options. Buy a call and exercise it and you will be assigned the shares. The downside is that you can only buy in multiples of 100 shares at a time, which is rather expensive. Try searching on reddit, thats where I found this out. Good luck!
Just a correction. The fee is based on the value of your investments, not the amount that you invest. If you have invested $10,000 but your portfolio is now worth $100,000, you will pay $600, NOT $60.
I need help - I have 520k cash, and I need 800$ per month in income, so I basically will be taking out 2400 every quarter and reinvesting the rest into the fund. My goal is to get my monthly income to 2400$. How many years will it take me to get to 2400 per month considering that I will be taking out 800 from the dividends payments?
You're already there. 520,000÷75 per share = 6,933 shares 6933 shares × .65 = $4,506 per qtr Or $4,506 x 4 = $18,024 per year. Expect between 5 and 10% increase per year and your budget is met with some growth for inflation. And check out the capital gains tax rate to see if you owe more than 15%. Hopefully, you bought earlier when shares were under $74/ share so you are making even more per year.
I am in the same boat, between JEDI and VOO I have my 1000/1000 a month maxed out. I'm not rich but thats all I can bring to the investing table. so IS it a good time to buy SCHD?

how many shares are you at right now?

I’ve been investing into SCHD since 2019, currently holding 691.77 shares.
Same... it's all Ive been buying this year

I don’t think there is anything wrong with making this your sole holding. It is great!

I do the same although I hold around 10 high quality individual stocks outside of SCHD. And hold VOO in my roth!

Great vid. SCHD is absolutely owning right now. Consistent in every aspect so far.

It would have been neat to show a similar comparison to VOO or even NOBL too. To see how they compare. Good video though.
I'll do a video on that in the future!

Yup. I own this for a while now and Im waiting for a nice correction to buy it for the kids in their stock accounts. Set it and Forget it ETF
awesome!
What would you pair SCHD with if you were in your early 40s (both ETFs in a Roth)? And what would the % breakdown between the two be? Thanks!
Great question. I’ll probably make a video on this soon. Many variables at play and it can depend greatly on your goals.
Pair SCHD with what ETF?
Def put it in the Roth IRA. The dividends won’t be taxed and you can compound even more. Maybe pair it with the SPY etf
Is it wise to hold schd and vti
Love the videos man keep them up.
Appreciate it!
Would you also have VYM in your portfolio?
Great video thanks for sharing 👍
I’m pairing SCHD with VOO keeping SCHD my first ! Any thoughts ?

IMPORTANT QUESTION: Do you know if SCHD replaces companies that are not performing well with better alternative companies like in the S&P500?
It does. It typically does this once a year.
Can you do 3M since they are very close to their 52 week low please. I’m trying to see if I should buy. It’s been on my watch list for a year now.

Curious, if people have this in their Roth or taxable account? 🤔
I have it in both. The dividend is great to live on, and my roth has it being reinvested
