$500 a month isn't a lot of money to rely on and your dividends shouldn't be taken out of your portfolio but reinvested. Your securities would appreciate much faster. For example, no matter how the market performs, you'll always receive nore shares each year when you reinvest.
My dividend journey began when I realized that two particular expenses in my budget were always going to go up and never go down. The two expenses were taxes and insurance. I realized that the dramatic rise in both will need some added income. So, I started buying shares paying dividends. I can now see that this will be the path I need to take to make sure those two expenses will not overtake my future income.

I started investing because I liked the extra money from stock dividends. The key, in my opinion, is to make enough money through both investing and dividends, so you can live off the dividends without selling anything. This way, you might pass on this financial advantage to your kids. I've put more than $600K into dividend stocks over the years, and I'm still buying more, planning to keep going until prices drop more.
Hearing from an experienced investor who has survived the crisis and prospered is always comforting. It could be worrisome when your portfolio goes from green to red, but if you have invested in strong firms, you should just keep growing them and stick to your goal.
I wholeheartedly concur, which is why I appreciate giving an investment coach the power of decision-making. Given their specialized expertise and education, as well as the fact that each and every one of their skills is centered on harnessing risk for its asymmetrical potential and controlling it as a buffer against certain unfavorable developments, it is practically impossible for them to underperform. It's recommended to save at least 20% of your income in a 401k. You can use online calculators to estimate how much you should save based on your age and income. Saving at least 20% of your income in a 401(k) can help ensure that you have enough money to retire comfortably. For a successful long-term investment strategy, find high-yielding stocks and shares that pace the market. Consider consulting a financial advisor to create a personalized plan that meets your goals
With the guidance of a financial advisor, I strategically diversified my initial investment of $400,000 across various markets, resulting in a remarkable net profit of over $900,000 in just a few months, thanks to a combination of high-dividend stocks, ETFs, and bonds
I like investing in close-end funds that pay monthly dividends. The trick is to hold long term and reinvest the monthly dividends plus buy more shares on a monthly basis or when ever you can afford to. This can be easily done because close-end funds are bought and sold on the stock market just like regular stock. That’d be enough to create a portfolio that would pay you between $50k to $70k in dividend income

Something I'll be waiting for. US pharma stocks are generally quite good, but there is one underlying concern I have with them as to why I am reluctant to put money into them - predominantly because I'm not certain how long the US will continue to have a heavily privatised healthcare industry. Everywhere else on earth has a health service, while the US uniquely has a health sector, and I think it's an inevitability that the US will eventually shift toward a similar model reflecting what almost every other country in the world has; I'm just not sure when this would happen.
Currently retired and receiving about $40k in dividends, imo I can say that dividends are indeed good for passive incomes and are long term investments that grow profits overtime, it's a good defense against bad markets and also reduces risk.
i would be so grateful if you answered my questions! :) When did you start investing? How did you get so good at picking out the best dividends? What app/ website do you use to get dividends?

I don't own HD, but do have LOW's (2.78%) and finally I have JNJ (4.06%) and five shares of it spinoff or whatever they are going to call it with Kenvue (.04%). To my understanding this just proves how much we need an edged as an investors because playing the market like everyone else just isn’t good enough. I’ve been quite ensured about investing in this current market and at the same time I feel it’s the best time to get started on the market, what are your thoughts?!
thank you for this tip , I must say Margaret, appears to be quite knowledgeable. After coming across her online page, I thoroughly went through her resume, and I must say, it was quite impressive. I reached out to her, and I have booked a session with her.
The Market have been suffering over the past month, with all the three indexes recording losses in recent weeks. My $400,000 portfolio is down by approximately 20%, any recommendations to scale up my returns before retirement will be highly appreciated.
Find stocks with market-beating yields and shares that at least keep pace with the market for a long term. For a successful long-term strategy I recommend you seek the guidance a broker or financial advisor.
Very true , I diversified my $400K portfolio across multiple market with the aid of an investment advisor, I have been able to generate over $900k in net profit across high dividend yield stocks, ETF and bonds in few months.
My advisor is ‘’Isabel Cecilia Ramsey’’ she’s highly qualified and experienced in the financial market. She has extensive knowledge of portfolio diversity and is considered an expert in the field. I have 100K in Robinhoods cash account earning 4.4%. I'm getting $366 per month or $4,400 per year. I went on Robinhood to buy some of the stocks you mentioned but did estimations on each of those stocks if I bought $100K for each of them. It turns out that none of those dividends beat the return of 4.4% return from the cash account. I realize that I would miss out on the gains and the dividends, especially from the VOO ETF, but with the market up in the air I stand to lose a lot too. Wouldn't it be better to hold onto the 4.4% until there's some solid ground under the market?
>>Wall Street pitched so-called quality stocks with high profitability and low debt, as a kind of insurance against whatever the economy might throw at you. Quality stocks have underperformed the S&P500 this year, waiting may not be the best decision for investors. It might sound basic or generic, but getting in touch with a financial adviser was how I was able to outperform the market and raise a profit of $350,000 since Jan 2022. Dividends are taken directly from the net income of the company = it is taken directly from the future investments/improvements = negative for the share price. Both now and forever.
Excellent video as always. If picking stocks is making your head spin and want a quick and easy way to add dividend exposure, the Schwab US Dividend Equity ETF (SCHD) is a solid choice!
With inflation currently at about 10%, my primary concern is how to grow my reserve of $240k which has been sitting duck since forever with zero to no gains, sure I'm all in on the long term game, but with my savings are lying waste to inflation and my portfolio losing gains everyday, I need a remedy asap.
it's all about finding the right moment to take advantage of and generate colossal profit, which is why you need to do your research and find a portfolio--Advisor.
i agree hobbs, I thought I was doing alright profit wise, until I needed assistance with diversification, I reached out to a financial advisor and in less than a year I was just $51,000 shy away from $850,000 which is like 7x more than I make on my own

Series 1 Bonds are currently at 9.62%. Ally Bank is currently at 2.10% APY. Have to have cash on side for scenarios like this. Where at least 100% of your money isnt losing to inflation. I have about 40k (dropped from 50k+) invested. $20k in "cash" (bank) but have it in two different banks (2.10% and 2.50%) while yes this money is at risk to surely lose to inflation, at a time like this the cash on side is not only leverage to seize an opportunity if one to arise, but also cuts my loss that my portfolio is currently seeing. In short most people are not only losing 10% to inflation but more due to unrealized losses. While im also losing im not losing to the full extent most are. I can put 10k in Series 1 rn if I wished and would not lose to inflation, but this is where opportunity cost comes in. Have to wait a bit to see if a good opportunity arises...
Total return is more important than just dividend yield. When stocks pay dividends instead of reinvest thats capital excluded from the company and value taken away from the share price. Both dividend yield and share price affect the total return; its less important where that return is coming from. Whilst dividends produce regular cash flow if thats really needed stocks could just be sold instead. Not to mention in the US dividends incur the horrid 30% tax. What other difference is there? Also its worth mentioning dividends paid out as stock instead of cash can dilute earnings, which can also have a negative impact on share prices in the short term.
When oil went negative, I jumped into XLE at around $22 per share, the dividend was a monster and even though it was way off, the companies behind it were quality, fast forward it trades between $80-$92 so got a huge boost, but the original investment is making roughly 17% in dividends or something around that. Sometime timing is the difference maker and it takes experience to recognize the oversold
So many questions. How much you put cash to get just $500 a month? All dividents you mentioned are payable once every 3 months. And they cost a lot. Plus the go down in value. It is not a smart move to make when I can just buy a 6 months bond and make 5,5-6%
Really good video Henry, and I'd like to add that 55% of PepsiCo's 2021 revenue (sales) were from food! And that Lay's is far and away the leading potato chip brand, with a 29.6% market share compared to Pringles at 9.6%. And, they are a DIVIDEND KING (50 straight years of dividend growth).
Good content but what's lacking is explaining how much you have invested to achieve the $500+ a month. Rough estimates reveal hundreds of thousands in shares need to be invested in these various securities just to earn over $500 in dividends a month, is that right?
Building out a solid dividend portfolio is something I plan on doing in the future when I’m more focused on passive income. Right now while I’m young I am mainly focused on building my wealth and investing in myself while setting myself up for retirement in the background through my 401k and Roth. I think your portfolio will shift with you as your life stage changes, and that’s the beautiful thing about investing. This was a great video Humphrey and thanks for the ideas!!

These are very valuable info for anybody who wants to get rich. Unfortunately, most people who will watch this video will not really be able to apply the principles. We may not want to admit, but as Warren Buffett once said, investing is like any other profession-- it requires a certain level of expertise. No surprise that some people are losing a lot of money in the bear market, while others are making hundreds of thousands in profit. I just don't know how they do it. I have about 109k now to put in the market.
My advice to new investors: Buy good companies stocks and hold them as long as they are good companies. Just do this and ignore the forecasts and market views which are at best entertaining but completely useless. I’ve only ever saved(510,000), never invested but want to start.
This video is generally correct in his philosophy to buy dividend stocks. However, stock prices are forecast to drop significantly in the near term. Right now, I would be more inclined to buy CDs, mostly as a hedge on inflation. Interest rates for CDs are generally going up, and can in some cases exceed what one would get from a stock dividend yield. Eventually, this trend will reverse, and stocks will be the better investment. But right now, I find CDs attractive, and unlike stocks, CDs are insured.
Essentially at the time of the video you had around $k180k invested in 7 stocks and based off your dividends in lets just say JPM you had around 1524 shares with a $1/share dividend paid quarterly? $508x12= $6096/4= $1524*118= $179,832. So how does the average guy making $55k a year get there? If he saves 10% of his income with no pay raise, no kids, no rent hike, gas hike, inflation, etc. it would take 16 years to get the same initial investment... then another 20-30 to see the compounding interest take effect... I don't see the practicality of this video for anyone who doesn't have lots of disposable income...
I know oil isn't going away anytime soon, but considering the auto industry is headed toward EVs over the next 10 years, shouldn't we be investing in the big electric utilities that also pay good dividends? Just curious what your thoughts are.
How many shares of each stock do you have? I am getting confused as you are talking about how much they pay every year yet your title says every month?
hopefully oil doesn't go anywhere. having all of our cars running on electricity will allow the government to shut off our cars whenever they feel like it. So you won't get to choose when to drive your car if they shut your car down.

Looks like a pretty well rounded portfolio, but I think you should really look at some energy stocks for dividends. Some are SO, AEP, DUK, ED, all pay a nice dividend and tend to swing up when the market is doing poorly. People like to hide in these until the market swings back.
I like the idea of Webull, but I have my brokerages, and I need to reduce the number of stocks I have and focus on adding to positions. Once I can, at some point, sell some growth stocks for a decent profit, I could consider adding another company.
why would you risk buying stocks if all you can get is a dividend under 5% when you could make more than that in a bank account without the risk? I like your chose of stocks, but you should put your money where it can get the highest return with the least risk
JP Morgan Chase, AbbVie, PepsiCo, Kraft Heinz, Exxon Mobil, Home Depot, VOO, Johnson & Johnson. I don’t have any of them individually, I think some are in my ETFs.

Mathematically, will need to own thousands of shares. About $250k invested in dividend stocks could yield $4k/monthly. That would be more than a life time of work for average sheep.

I wholeheartedly concur, which is why I appreciate giving an investment coach the power of decision-making. It's recommended to save at least 20% of your income in a 401k. You can use online calculators to estimate how much you should save based on your age and income. Saving at least 20% of your income in a 401(k) can help ensure that you have enough money to retire comfortably. By saving this much, you can take advantage of compound interest and potentially grow your retirement savings over time.

Not because of ignorance, it’s because of the high rate of unprofessionalism in the cypto market

lnvestors should be cautious about their exposure and be wary of new buys, especially during inflation. Such high yields in this recession is only possible under the supervision of a professional or trusted advisor.
I agree, having a brokerage advisor for investing is genius! Amidst the financial crisis in 2008, I was really having investing nightmare prior touching base with an advisor. In a nutshell, i've accrued over $850k with the help of my advisor from an initial $120k investment

Building wealth involves developing good habits like regularly putting money away in intervals for solid investments. Instead of trying to predict and prognosticate the stability of the market and precisely when the change is going to happen, a better strategy is simply having a portfolio that’s well prepared for any eventually, that’s how some folks' been averaging 150K every 7week these past 4months according to Bloomberg.
That’s crazy, I’m just doing everything wrong with my portfolio.
The US-Stock Mrkt had been on it’s longest bull-run in history, so the mass hysteria and panic is relatable considering we’re not accustomed to such troubled mrkts, but there are avenues lurking around if you know where to look. The markets generally are unpredictable, so that one has to have different scenarios. The idea that you can actually predict what’s going to happen contradicts my way of looking at the market. My advice for investors is to get an expert.
Currently I'm just being smart and frugal with my money, I'm in the green 47% over the last 23 months and l've accumulated over $700K in pure profits from DCA’ing into stocks, ETFs, dividends and futures. However I’ve been in the red for a month now. I work hard for my money, so investing is making me a nervous sad wreck. I don’t know if I should sell everything, sit and just wait.
Stocks are pretty unstable at the moment, but if you do the right math, you should be just fine. Bloomberg and other finance media have been recording cases of folks gaining over 250k just in a matter of weeks/couple months, so I think there are a lot of wealth transfer in this downtime if you know where to look.
I completely agree. I have been consistent with my profit regardless of the market conditions. I got into the market early in 2019 and the constant downtrends and losses discouraged me, so I sold off. I got back in December 2020 and this time with guidance from an investment adviser who was recommended by a colleague
Is there any chance you could recommend who you work with? I've wanted to make this switch for a very long time now, but I've been very hesitant about. I'll appreciate any recommendation.
The thing is that I really don't like making such recommendations. But there are many freelance wealth managers you could check out. I have been working with "Helene Claire Johnson " for a long now, and she's made decent returns. If she meets your discretion, then you could go ahead.
I looked up your advisor's full name and she appears to be trustworthy and knowledgeable. She is a fiduciary who acts in any individual's best interests. So I left a message on her website, and I'm hoping she responds soon.
Real talk. Kudos. Though my greatest concern is how to recover from all these economic and global troubles and stay afloat especially with the political power tussle going on in the US.
As with any big financial decision, it’s important to keep your guard up for economic risks. However, smart planning, time management and seeking advice from a financial adviser can help keep you and your money safe.
I've been in contact with a coach for a while now, primarily because I don't have the background knowledge or the mental toughness to handle these recurrent market conditions. Although there are tactics to be applied in this market, the common person cannot access these strategies. Would I be better off investing my money somewhere else?
If the market has taught me anything, it's that it usually bounces back, but I can't seem to concentrate on the long term, especially because important variables like my retirement and my reserve are having a disastrous impact on inflation. I need a reliable data trajectory as well as a solution as soon as feasible.
It's not that you're doing anything wrong; it's just that you don't have the knowledge to profit in a down market. The only individuals who may earn greatly during tumultuous times like these are experts with considerable knowledge who must have observed the 2008 catastrophe. Their whole skill set is based on trading long and short at the same time, using profit-driven strategies and reducing risk as a buffer against unavoidable downtrends, thus they are well-suited to do so.

One thing to note is that JNJ will be splitting its consumer health business and its pharmaceutical business. It’s consumer business will be more of a stable dividend stock whiles it’s pharmaceutical business will be more like a growth stock.

Thx spencer :)
@@humphrey Of course Humphrey!
12:12 you're kidding right? There are over 1 million homes under construction or due to be finished before year's end and it's crushing the real estate market
22 years old and made $120 in dividends back in 2022. Been reinvesting that back in to grow more this year.
I love when i see a notification of a dividend payment received and then reinvested in my brokerage account. love your videos
Beware of the investment activity that produces applause; the great moves are usually greeted by yawns.
@Brett Atkinson Being a crypto guy, my challenge is always with finding an advisor who have proven his/her mettle over time
@Brett Atkinson Right Brett. Ran a quick background checks on her and she seems quite legitimate. 've found her web page and would contact her

I commit about Kraftheinz is that you mentioned mostly heinz products. Kraft by itself has products in multiple sectors internationally. What kid hasnt heard of Kraft mac and cheese, Lunchables, and Jello. Campbells soup, Philadelphia cream cheese, Boca Burger, and so many more.
For dividends, SCHD > VOO
Tip 1% of the 🔝 1%
Did you mean SCHD is better than voo? How about sphd?
I was thinking the same thing.
DUK, SO, D are some good ones to look into as far as energy companies. if you find others, let me know!
How many shares of each stock do you have? I am getting confused as you are talking about how much they pay every year yet your title says every month?
hopefully oil doesn't go anywhere. having all of our cars running on electricity will allow the government to shut off our cars whenever they feel like it. So you won't get to choose when to drive your car if they shut your car down.
very well presented. both voice and content.
Great video! Same with me man, been getting much more in to dividends. Specifically dividend ETFs for even less risk but a high yield dividend (made some good videos on this for anyone interested)
Same here. I spread over high dividend etfs and stocks with 18% monthly dividend rendement.
I'm DCAing in MYSTICFLIP as well. ETH heavier DCA and ALGO. I'm taking your advice and starting Google tomorrow with a 50 dollar purchase and continuing Microsoft and Apple. VTI and VOO on another app and longterm portfolio. Here we go family!
MYSTICFLIP
Stock trading is the best 🔥
Lack of trading discipline is the primary reason for intraday trading losses it is estimated that nearly 80- 85% of intraday traders end up losing money in the stock market Experiencing loss is also part of the game but that don't mean you should give up. my advice to new beginners is trade with professional expert on profitable platform
I learnt from my last year's experience, i am able to build a suitable life because I invested early ahead this time.
@Loveth Gold how good is he, I think I wanna try him out?
Trading is mental game, that is why most people lose money because they cannot control their emotions. Because the prevalent idea of our culture is to effortless indulge and focus on their own pleasure and wellbeing, but controlling your emotions is unpleasant and painful
I have also experience his great work too, he is good can assure you of that
Hi Humphrey do you recommend investing in etf's or individual stocks?
How much do you currently have invested to yield $500 monthly in dividends?
$170,000 or so.
Man the bots really make the comment section a dumpster fire. Be careful out there folks.
Have you reviewed the idea of just investing into things such as SCHD/JEPI in order to diversify throughout their holdings while also having a high yield?
Your videos offer so much real value! Thanks for staying true to your video titles unlike many others who use cheesy titles to attract viewers! Thanks!!!
Looks like a pretty well rounded portfolio, but I think you should really look at some energy stocks for dividends. Some are SO, AEP, DUK, ED, all pay a nice dividend and tend to swing up when the market is doing poorly. People like to hide in these until the market swings back.
Not at ALL sure about Shel
thanks Nygold! good point
MReit like $ARR is a good BUY !!
Thanks for ur input I’ll do more research
Heinz sales are down because they abandoned their Leamington, ON factory. Canadian folks rallied against Heinz in support of French’s. Look it up.
Great video Humphrey! All solid choices. I've been buying the ETFs VOO and SCHD weekly. Loving the dividends and compounding interest.
a few of these companies shares are expsensive like home depo are at over $467 Aud so id be able to affor 2 is it worth going larger quantities of smaller shares or just buying big value lower quantities.
☝✍️
Mathematically, will need to own thousands of shares. About $250k invested in dividend stocks could yield $4k/monthly. That would be more than a life time of work for average sheep.
$250k invested paying out $48k annually would be a implausible dividend yield of 19.2%.
Surprised how quickly investors turn away from tech stocks, I bought Microsoft last year just before the sell off, didn't phase me one bit, I plan on holding for decades let alone years. A company like Microsoft is never going anywhere and clearly brings new ideas and iniatives to the table on an on-going basis.
I bought a bunch of Microsoft too at about $333 last November.
Disappointed I didn't sell in January when rate hikes announced and now stuck -25% but it'll recover one day I guess
Akoustis Technologies 😎
EPD has been one of my absolute favorite dividend stocks for a while now. Thanks for the content Humphrey!
Any stock can do that it matters how much you own.
Very informative video. What do you think of holding SCHD as a percentage of your dividend portfolio?
Personally love it. Also check SPYD
