      Disney copied it for "Beauty and the Beast" animation opening scene.

    Will people freak and send me death threats if I say Lubitsch is so overrated and this is a underrated masterpiece?

      It could be argued that all early silent era directors are overrated as all the things they invented have been perfected by other directors after. Lubitsch was initiated in his depictions of sexuality and attacks on authority figures, which Billy wilder latter mastered. Wilder even had a sign in his office saying "what would Lubitsch do". Also check out the mountain cat it is my favourite silent Lubitsch film.

      Just the really crazy ones. The normal ones would either keep it to themselves, say, "Huh, maybe you have a point," or not even care.
