Ash Bull ive been there for 4 months working as a teacher in a school located in one of the worst slums of Howrah - Kolkata. My India experience therefore is pretty close to the actual live the people have to cope with and also with direct expressions, and i hated it. The pollution, the absence of any order or understanding for logical things.. how should India develop, if nothing works? it's just a fucked up country. Worth the experience for a visit, that for sure, but nothing to endure much longer than that.

Somesh Redkar ....dude stop...why can't u guyz take criticism...it's true that India is a fucked up place...a day in Mumbai(my city) Delhi would tell u enough ...just calm down bro they are just expressing there opinions....I myself don't like hearing this shit.... instead hating I work for making this country great....and be open to criticism it's the only way u will ever know that ur wrong

this is one of those stereotypical videos one makes for india.. specifically Delhi.. what u showed was Old Delhi ...not New Delhi.... New Delhi is managed by the central government while the rest of Delhi (including old Delhi) is managed by state government.. so the whole Delhi is not called New Delhi.. only central Delhi (majorly built by British) is called New Delhi.. u guys were only showing the poor .. and cows .. Delhi is much more than that.. also the king cutting limbs of his workers is a big myth .. which even the guides over there have less knowledge abt.. ask those who are well versed and experts on the Taj.. or even have a look at the net.. Shah jehan never cut the workers hands... in fact he was put in a house arrest ryt afterTaj was built

you and everybody know that there are alot poor people in India. why not to accept it rather than writing excuses here ? and think, why do we have so many poor people ? because we sucked bro .

    • @pramedhindra5560

+Micheal Choudhary there are approx12% peoples below poverty line but off course it is a big no considering 1.28 billion population of India but India is growing fast and no. is decreasing gradually visit again after 10 years and you will see different India it is 3rd largest economy in the world on the basis of PPP and 6th largest on GDP basis

Pramedh Indra if by The poverty line u mean 1.25$ per day that is not impressive. Colombia's poverty rate is less than 1% if we use that standard and most people still consider them poor.

I don't know why western people are obsessed with those old dirty places in New Delhi.....Even people from Delhi often avoid to go one of those places and you portrays like whole India lives in those situations.....You got to show the real part which is even better than Western countries... Swanky malls, highways, corporate, lights, night clubs etc. are mind boggling and would put you in confusion whether if you are in India... But truly, if you won't show those cluttered, dirty places how would you gather views to your videos and how would you satisfy your taste buds????.....And hotel in just $15???? C'mon even middle class people in India avoid to live in a hotel room for $15.... Those $10-$20 hotels are specifically designed for westerners like you as we know you travel on a very tight budget!!! So, don't say its real India... You really need to speak about India??? Take Maharaja train which would cost you min of $ 6,000 for single journey which goes as high as $ 24,000 for single journey....I am sure, you won't speak about these things coz you may not have that much of money to spend... So better would be to shoot some cheap local places n show ohh you come from Western world!!!!

    • @Wawoify
      @Wawoify 8 років тому +5

I understand the frustration of this as an Indian but you see, when you travel to another country you want to see how people live differently to you. Yes there is a large portion of India that is middle class and even upper class and they live in western style homes and shop at western style malls but why travel half way across the world to see people living, experiencing and doing thing as you do. The magic is seeing how other people live and how this is different to what you know. Westerners don't come to India and take pictures/film of people who are poor or the poverty that is around because they are ignoring the other parts of India, they capture this aspect of the country because it is new to them, different and exciting.

So they should not proclaim that they are showing video of New Delhi; when in reality they did not even care to probably visit New Delhi. Showing video of Old Delhi in name of New Delhi is misleading. or maybe they do not want to change their opinions, come with preconceived notions so deliberately visit only those places which support their beliefs, instead of modifying them!

Women have to be careful and cautious..no matter which country...1.ideal timings for solo woman traveller is 7am to 7.30pm.. dawn to dusk in India..2.no night adventures 3. get 4g internet as soon as you land..such that you could Google for anything you want...4.get your antibiotics beforehand..incase you fall sick 5.if you feel people are staring at you..then just smile nd say namaste... people stare here mostly because of curiosity nd not to trouble you or any evil intentions mostly 6.women travellers carry a scarf or a shawl..u might need it in some conservative or religious places 7.to counter the spicy food here..you can have lot of yougurt..which is good for your health nd gut 8.to revitalize your energy..you can frequently have sugarcane juice, buttermilk..nd glucon-d( you get it in chemist/ medical shop )9.take uber or ola cab for travelling..but don't be so careless that you fall asleep in it 10.advisable not to drink or smoke publicly or any PDA 11.do not consume soft drinks or food offered by strangers..they could be vultures in disguise 12.you could ask educated indian women or girl students for any help or advice.. preferably 13.do not go to small lanes or places were no women is there..14.in metro cities there are women taxi..incase you need..15.there are Big bazaar supermarkets in most of the cities..which is a indian version of walmart 16.Basically you cannot stereotype India..you find every range nd diversity here.. poverty to super rich...Street food to five star hotels..filth to clean nd greenery nd calm places..17.india has conservative places were women are fully covered i.e sarees to modern cities like Delhi..Mumbai.. Bangalore..were you women are in jeans..skirts..modern clothing 18.welcome to India..just don't panic.. come with no expectations.. explore yourself..there is fun in chaos here😁😀 19.if you find Street dog here..just walk far from it and don't give an eye contact..and you would be fine 20.at religious places nd temples you will find holy cows..monkeys..just be far..and you would be fine 21.to reduce culture shock and to get acclimatized best to first visit Mumbai then south India then finally to North India 22. Best route could be Mumbai to Goa to Kerela to Bangalore to Hyderabad to Delhi..Agra..mathura...Jaipur.. Lucknow..Varanasi...23. India has two types of toilets..one is indian toilet..where you need to squat..it is good for bowel movement nd people suffering from constipation 😊 and the other type is western toilet where you can sit and surf on your phone 24. Hinduism is a major religion in India..along with many other religious practices..Muslims..Christians..Jews..Buddhists..Jain's..Sikhs..25.in India major languages are English and Hindi..and many local languages..26.most of the times you don't have to Google translate in India because most of the people speak English with understandable indian accent 27.install your Google maps in the phone for hotel and restaurant location and reviews...28.incase you travel in a tuktuk vehicle for transportation..do not fight or argue or giggle at them...because they are as such frustrated with this struggle for existence...and have very less patience for arguments 29.try not to argue with lower strata people for petty things..am saying because some tourist do🙄 30. When in Rome..be like a Romans...31.india is not what media/ news channels portraits as slums..dirty..filthy..full of poverty..rapes...you will know India ..only when you visit..32.have yakult probiotic drink, amul buttermilk,Amul yougurt, sugarcane juice, coconut water, bananas to avoid upset stomach..

I don't know but people from western countries especially go yo crowded and unclean parts of India deliberately. New Delhi is beautiful but they preferred to show parts of congested old Delhi. India is geographically and culturally the best country in the world. Yes it is overpopulated and chaotic but we love this Chaos.

      Global Degree
I just had a thought I figured I'd pass on. I bet your videos would get more views overall if you removed the "Episode #" from each video. For one thing it takes up space when space for the title is precious, especially in the related and suggested video column on the right. Also, I think people are less likely to click on videos if there's an episode number because they figure they should need to see the previous videos before watching that one.
My #1 tip for posting travel videos is: don't post for your subscribers. Create titles targeting non-subscribers. Your subscribers will still get to see and enjoy them of course, but the key to success is to get non-subscribers to be inclined to click on your videos. So treat each video as its own separate movie that you're hoping non-subscribers will want to click on because it's related to something they're searching for or just interested to see. Ok advice column done, just figured I'd pass it along because I do think it will make a difference in increasing your view counts. Namaste from Nepal and happy trails!

sunny Dabas hahaha are you kidding? :D animals are treated with the least of respect I've ever seen there. look at the cages of chicken, or how they hang them to hundreds from bicycles. how they hit stray dogs and cats. also the horse carriages, the drivers hit their horses, hurt them, give them unclean water. Asia but especially India has very little respect for those living creatures. And coming there will definitely shock you.

+Huevo Duro702 Well, I from India. I think cleanliness of water varies across different part of India. You could brush with tap water here but I think its not that safe to drink tap water (Its not like you get sick, but there are always chances of it). There are many Places that sell 10 - 20 Gallon sized Huge Plastic Containers.
Its normally like less than $ 1 for 20 Gallons of Filtered Pure drinking water so its pretty cheap.

In my honest opinion....you should not break that fight..you are a tourist, you are there to observe and learn, not to interfere. Don't get involved into stuff you know nothing about. They have different mindset and come from different background than you do. Maybe I'm wrong and just overreacting because I didn't really like the concept of the video - "epic" video title & misinformation - guys in india don't hold hands as much as you'd obviously like them to and what u showed in video was just old delhi..kind of surprised me cuz u guys seem to travel a lot...but this one was just about exaggerating and emphasizing cultural shock, cheap shave and being blind to all the cultural beauty and diversity right there...

atleast try to understand whats going on around you when you go to a new place with a completely different mindset and thoughts of people there. it is not chaos, its harmony in diversity. It is the law for people to honk when passing or turning. It seems like you guys came out of India confused rather than learning anything about the place. The sitar you were throwing around in the end is an instrument of the Gods, I felt so sick to be watching that portion.
