This was actually the first and only year the trucks ran at Talladega without restrictor plates. That's why they sound so high strung and aggressive.. 8500+ RPMs through the Dr. Gas Boom tube setup, absolutely nasty. This race was was truly special and something we likely will never see again out of the truck series, or any other series of NASCAR for that matter.
This is the first race I have ever heard the trucks run X pipes. But maybe that's just me because I didn't really keep up with the Truck Series back then. These trucks sound amazing.
