Anybody sitting here thinking how nice it would be to go over (I'm from UK) and join join the family, causally be the 11th child (I'm 32!) and just be looked after and be part of the family. 😁 I live on my own (my choice I love it) but with everything shutting down for the virus its kinda lonely at the moment. It's lovely watching these videos and sort of feeling included in something. Thanks for brightening my day 😊

Yeah, I am 61, not married and no kids. I suppose watching Amy is like my playing house as an adult...playing "my own family" and hoping Amy's housekeeping skills and energy level rub off on me. I learned how to cook about 10 years ago. There's hope for my organizing the freezer and doing more meal prep to prevent waste and the going out for fast food because I did not prepare a lunch. My mom did assembly line lunches for us kids and my dad. She froze sandwiches and cake. In the morning she bagged it and added fruit and the sandwich was thawed by lunch. She was my hero. Nobody talked about food prep 50 years ago.

I actually tell people that cheese and yogurt can be frozen and they look at me with a crazy face lol. I put yogurt in ice cube trays and freeze it then put it in a huge bag and mix it in my kids milk for added substance. Then I always buy big blocks of what ever cheese is cheap. I shredd it myself and freeze it in single serve bags. My husband always thought I was a crazy person having meals frozen and food stored now that we cant get to a store because I'm pregnant and have a kid with a suppressed immune system and a 12month old he is thankful for my knowledge of food storage techniques lol

I'd like to know how you cover them. Maybe foil wrap and then placed in a plastic bag? Also, How do you deal with freezer burn, if any?
Excuse the question but how about freezing healthier meals? Using olive oil or coconut oil instead of the bacon fat? Not using pre-packaged shredded cheese instead shredding your own. Do you guys eat fish? Sorry for the inquiries... Worried for your families health.

Just a tip for people who want to label their containers, I use green painters tape and fold a little bit of one end over on itself so its like a loose tab that doesn't stick to the container. And then I write on the table with my sharpie (what it is and the date) so I don't permanently mark up my containers and I can reuse them with out worry. And just take off the tape when you go to wash it :)

WOW AMAZING! Totally epic! Because of one of your last videos I bought a food processor and use that for my food prep. I mince a whole bunch of veg including tons of onion and zuchinni and store bought mixed vegetable slaw and then cook it over the stove into a veggie mush and freeze them thin in ziplock bags. Everything I cook (be it meatballs or even gravy) gets a chunk of the vegetable mush! That way if we don't eat a salad with our meal I know we r still getting our veggies in! I loved this video xoxo

ANY JAR: flip upside down before opening and SMACK the bottom of the jar with a little force flat-handed and it will release the seal on the jar making it A LOT easier to open! yeah, ikr. A LOT easier to open.

And- you know I like the idea of sneaking those veggies into any meal! Great job Amy! And great tips! Thank you!

The polish dish you were talking about is basically the same thing as Russian Golubsti... I totally get the process of boiling the cabbage and then having to roll each and every leaf... tooo much work!!! What I make instead is "lazy golubsti" and just shred everything and cook it that way on low heat on the stove and it come out just as good and so much faster!! Just spoon it out like fried rice and its great!!
