  • And this is why I rarely read on the weekends other than on the train. Had a blast doing the Tokyo Metro challenge with my best friend though. Highly recommended to anyone located in Tokyo!
    Books mentioned:
Cao Xueqin : The Story of the Stone - Volume 5
Keisuke Hada : La Vie du bon côté (Scrap and Build)
Yuko Tsushima : Woman Running in the Mountains

This video was such fun! We got to see glimpses of your apartment, your friend, your activities, etc... I certainly enjoy your book talks but this kind of gave me a little peek into other aspects of your life and I quite appreciated it. Obviously I am always curious of your life beyond books but would never think of asking personal questions (not my style) and so this was very nice. As i have mentioned to you before- you are the first person I have encountered (so to speak) who has shared so many of the same interests in books and read a fair number of the *same* books (in one language or another) as me and so I am naturally curious about you. I always wanted to live in Japan but that will not happen so I can certainly enjoy it vicariously, through you and other channels I watch of gaijin making their lives in Japan. This was rather a busy weekend for you and if this is per usual then I am not surprised you cannot read so much on weekends. As for me, at my stage in life (retired, in full) the whole of my life going forward is "the weekend" or as I like to joke: "Every day is Saturday".

Thanks! I don’t really enjoy filming in public so it’s something I’ll have to experiment more with and get used to.

My friend and I are starting to get into escape rooms. We've done one of those and now this mystery game. I think with more experience we'll start getting better and it won't take 8 and a half hours to solve. lol Definitely try out an escape room! Was lots of fun!

My left hand fingertips hurt just to think about such a long rehearsal! (Also, I don't pick up my violin nearly as often as I should!)

That's a good book! Thankfully there was no murder at the end of this mystery!
