Welcome to Lockdown101 recipes and today I amvery delighted to cook Binod's favourite Mustard Fish in other words called Shosher Maach in Bengali and Sorisa Macha in Odia if u are still wondering who Binod is just google him.
I am so expecting Binod to see this video and of course all my subscribers if you are too lazy to write comments like very yumm very delicious so tempting cannot wait to try and equally uninteresting words so puleez just write Binod ...i will understand

I have taken around 10-12 pieces of medium cut rohu fish a that we easily order from farm Fresh app ...if you are a non veg and still trying hard to get you non veg stock during lockdown then you must try Farm Fresh app and before all you food bloggers think that this is a sponsored post let me stop you right there ...it is NOT....I donot know why i am making this hand gesture...if you see this video till the end u will see me repeating this gesture again and again. Now i am sprinkling some salt just the way you like to sprinkle on your husbands wound just joking...followed by haldi or turmeric whatever you want to call it...and then finally sprinkling red chili powder just the way you want to slap it on that damn Corona Virus ...leaving any sort of violent behavior behind now I am going to toss all the ingredient together...just like this.. This is a hack when you are making fish and you do not want yellow nails at the end of the day. Now that we have marinated the fish it can go into the fridge for 1/2 an hour if you are trying to feed a hungry Binod at home or else you can easily leave it for a little longer.
While the spices percolate in the fish we will make preparations for mustard gravy . As you can see we will need 2 tbsp mustard seeds 2-3 chiles and some water...the other chilies are just for the aesthetic look. You can put them in the grinder if you want take any sort of revenge against your family members.
We have churned it for 2 -3 rounds and then we will get this sort of paste which am trying to put in this bowl and we shall keep this aside.
Now i have taken out the marinated fish and decorated in this white plate to show you the rich colour of the marination. Then I am heating up the pan and pouring 2 table spoon mustard seed...now u will wonder what an overdose of mustard ...well as i have told you guys this is a recipe of mustard fish and if you donot enjoy the zingy flavour of mustard them u must not eat fish at all ...alright moving on...I am frying the marinated fish in med - high flame till the time i turns golden brown on both the sides. I am using a tong to flip this and show off my cooking skills. Time for another show off I also toss the fish just like this to make it look more delectable and stylish...if you are cared of fire do not try at home.
Our fish fry is ready ...if you are fish lover you will at this point enjoy eating hot and crispy fish fry... Alright without deviating much I am taking another pan and letting it heat up as you are standing in the kitchen cooking and heating up you head. I am going to put 1 tsp of mustard oil and let it heat up. Adding 1 tsp of turmeric and 1 tsp of chili powder...let it cook for sometime in oil and then add 1/2 a cup of water and cover ..let it sizzle and spices cook in the water. Once done you can add some more water and boil it further. Now I will add the fried fish one by one into the spice mix in the pan. let it simmer in low heat...then i am going to pour the zingy mustard paste into the gravy and let it boil for 5-10 mins...you can cover it for best results add 2 -3 slit chilies to get the adequate amount of spice in the curry...Go easy on the chilies if you are feeding a baby Binod at home.
Now our beautiful mustard fish gravy is ready ...you can eat this with boiled rice or roti...actually forget roti...eat it with bhaat or boiled rice ...you're going to enjoy it so much...Do subscribe to my channel A Classic Mom...just like Binod did.
