Hello Adam! Of course I already subscribed to your channel. I was really surprised to hear my name in your clip. I had rather expected that other subscribers answer and not the boss personally ;-) You pronounced my name very well! Your explanation is very helpful. And also a motivating kick in the ass. I have an Instagram account and today I took a selfie! I want to try to implement your suggestions. So far this has worked out well on facebook. Now I will be more open- minded for the new tool Instagram and try to work on my own UA-cam channel. Great Videos! Keep it up! reetings from Germany! Detlev
I can say that before we became a band I had absolutely no social media. But ever since this band I've gotten an Instagram, twitter, and even the dreaded Tik Tok. We have gotten so many gigs from social media, gotten so many fans, and even sold merch because of our social media. Adamivy knows what he's talking about.
Yeah dude, just be prepared to work on this platforms for years with consistency before you get a decent folllwing and consistent engagement. Thats the thing all these gurus don't mention.. Like Adam says,, Its hard to motivate yourself and commit the time to all social media platforms all the time. For as long as we need to to get it done. I been at it for years on FB and about a year on YT and about 6 months on IG!
*Instagram, just like any social media is a tool that's as good as what you make of it, yet you need to understand how it works algorythm wise and such, otherwise you may lost a a lot of time*
well said dude! my biggest mistake was not allowing myself to be on social media for years, I have to admit I still don't really like being on facebook etc at the moment, but I definitely needed to be on it for my music and I wish I realised that years ago, been on youtube since 2006, only the last few years i really realised I should've been using it and posting music
Amazing video! As an upcoming hard Rock band from Mexico City, we want to share our gratitude to you Adam! After we started to see your videos we jumped from 100 likes on our FB page to 1175! And Instagram that was our real headache! We jumped from 2 followers to 135 in a few.... So to sum up we are here to say THANK YOU ADAM!!! And cheers!!!
You’re an inspiration. Just recently found your channel and you’re literally reiterating things I know but lack confidence in at times. Keep this alive man
I have only just discovered your channel and it is a godsend for me. Having been a musician for decades but not really putting myself out there I have recently had a change of circumstances that has made me reevaluate what is important to me. I use social media to keep in tenuous touch with friends and acquaintances but it is a scary thing to know that you have to build a fan base and following using social media. I am going to try and follow your suggestions and see where it takes me. Thanks again.
Just found and subscribed. How didn’t we find you before. Our team shared you with us. These videos are so important and powerful! Thank you and keep going! - Brian (singer) WHY 🇨🇦🙏
Felipe Moreno bro, I’m right up the road in Greenville, SC. Maybe we can COLLAB at some point. My Instagram name is lastname_ford. Be sure to follow me & if you’d like subscribe to my UA-cam channel.
hey man! loved every minute of it!! The power of positive social media... it all started on a music sharing page on Facebook and a post sparked something that led to a collab to create a cover of Hotel California(one of the most iconic songs ever) between like 8 - 9 people from India, USA, Vietnam, Finland, Australia etc. LOVE FROM INDIA!!!
Adam I have been watching your videos for a little over a year now and my rap group and I have been following your videos and taking notes every time. We just recently booked our first gig in Boise, Idaho. You have helped me out tremendously and I can't thank you enough. Much Love from Idaho
I don't usually comment or subscribe to anyone! I watched few of your videos, and I'm amazed with the way you explain stuff psychologically makes me stay there to finish the video! Keep it up man!
dude. the last video i watched, i watched at 1.25x, so i went to check the playback on this one, realizing that it was playing at normal speed. appreciate the passion, man, that’s a sub from me.
I only just stumbled across your channel here, this is the 3rd video in a row of yours I have watched. I must say, I am enjoying what I see so far. When I began writing music, it was 1999. Social media was still a twinkle in someone's eye, more or less. We were using sites like mp3.com for our stuff. By the time Facebook and Twitter were really gaining steam, I was just scratching the surface of them. They weren't really what I would call "artist friendly" at that point yet. By then, I was more focused on trying to make ends meet for the family, so music fell to the wayside (somewhere around 2007/2008). Nowadays, they are such an integral part of the process. I am kind of kicking myself for not staying as immersed in my music and building on my fanbase as I could have been. I recently began writing some new stuff, and through Distrokid, have put up our old stuff on Spotify, etc. (Where the hell was THAT when I could have used it 15+ years ago???). I'm looking forward to pushing new stuff with all these wonderful tools that we have now, as opposed to how much of a pain it was back then.
This video is my favorite Adam! I’ve finally figured out how I want to attack my UA-cam and Instagram to make it engaging and interesting for my audience! 2019 is all about learning and growth !
Thank you for the info and you're absolutely right. We should all be chasing the engagement. I look for a couple other things too like potential clientele, talent, inspiration, education and all that. I mean really, its more fun this way. I'm already following ya on the instagram. Looking forward to more of info!
Agreed. Well stated. Respect from a little band in Canada 🇨🇦

This was useful information about Instagram and now I've started following you! I've already noticed that Instagram is probably the most efficient way to get connected with people and get some following and since the beginning of the 2019 I've been really specific with the content that I post there. I've been trying to use UA-cam as a secondary platform and I've noticed that things that I think is cool to share (stories behind my songs) won't get any views but something like doing improvising around the song ideas seems to be a lot more interesting to see by people. I don't mind that fact because producing material like that is a lot more natural and faster to do and I'll get more time to work on the art itself.
I recently quit my job to pursue music full time and I just stumbled upon your videos, a god send. I’m having trouble establishing an action plan, I’m not exactly sure what I should be spending my time doing. Currently I’m writing a lot of music and going to open mics all over the city (getting way better as a performer as well as networking and meeting musicians in the scene) however I’m starting to feel discouraged because I’m not sure how this will translate into real success in the music business. I feel objectively like my songs are amazing but I don’t know how to get them out there and get myself heard. In this video you talk about joining UA-cam and using Instagram as a tool, I’ve tried UA-cam in the past but put my videos on private because I wasn’t happy with the quality they also didn’t get very many views. As for Instagram I have over 3000 followers but the more content I put out the less engagement I get? Am I doing something wrong? Please help!
Once you build a quality community and give the right content for each platform, they will follow you every where... I'm inviting some of my 15 years fans to my next studio session to hear the next album work in progress. A great reward for them, but also great content for the vlog and posts that will create engagement in our small community
Hi Adam I just wanted to say that this video hit me hard. You saying "I know what it's like to have nobody commenting on anything you're posting" a tear came to my eye. I have an IT apprenticeship which I hate having to go to and waking up at 6am just so that I can get at least some money coming in. I don't wanna do it anymore Adam! Could we perhaps talk? I love your videos and the energy and inspiration you give out and you have helped me from the very start to build up a brand for myself. You've shown me how to have confidence and that I can do this. You've shown me its not just for the big people it's for the little ones too! But I am discouraged and I don't know what I'm doing anymore it seems. Anyway Adam if you read this, thank you for all the amazing videos you've put out and thanks for reading :)
Just came across this video in search of something different, but I got exactly what I needed, not what I thought was what I needed. I have to say thank you!!
Thank you for this, Adam! I'm just starting my IG journey and often find myself getting too wrapped up in likes and follows. This is a wonderful reminder to put my focus into having real interactions and creating genuine connections.
Thanks Adam, I was just thinking of what a friend said years ago, he said, "You have a good voice unfortunately you do not know how to market yourself" one day I would like to run into him and say, "Well I am still learning!"
Hey Adam! Already subscribed and smashed the bell icon. I just wanted to share that a random person who saw my video came out to me about his sexuality. I felt really good knowing I impacted one person that day.
Thanks Adam! Thanks for the kick in the butt! Also, I have a question: you mentioned something about knowing which opportunities to take from producers and which ones not to take. Could you make an in-depth video about what to accept/ reject from potential managers or producers?
Weird to say but you have a very pleasing to the ear speaking voice. It makes listening to this great information that much easier. Keep it up man this stuff is all awesome!
I made a friend on Instagram through our song writing training and we still support each other and communicate on a weekly basis - I love the video's - Thank you Adam -
Adam, great video. It gave me some inspiration, education, and entertainment. I’m just getting started in my new music endeavor, and your videos are helping me.
Brilliant video as always Adam Thank you for the info We try to post very sparingly about our music and then other related images and photos relevant to our music
Thanks for another great informative video, Adam! My band and I just got into Instagram and we weren't sure about what to post other than gig photos lol. We'll work on being more active and post more on Instagram to connect more with locals and local venues!
Thank you Adam for constantly helping me find the tools & motivation required to get my first solo project up & running. I will go to your Instagram now! 🤘🏼
I found your channel today & it’s the best educational/ advice channel I’ve ever come across. I’ve been struggling with my original music mainly because I haven’t believed in myself. I’m inspired ✨ Thank you so much. I subscribed!
This channel is great and the information is so valuable. I'm trying to grow my instagram following a bit at the moment as I have more time on my hands and it is a slow and steady process for sure but the information on these videos helps so much. Thank you!
yo Adam I'm working on my music... finally taking it seriously... I've learned so much since I've subscribed to ur channel and appreciate all the great content thx for keeping it real!
First and foremost Jusbi, is some of the most comfortable quality cloths that I've ever owned!! I wanna thank you for this video Adam! I just recently broke the 1k mark on my IG followers which for me organically has been a great milestone. I have no lack of quality Content it just seems hard to turn the engagement into actual sales for me. I might need your coaching soon. It's funny what you said about not knowing your best friends in real life because my mentor right now I've never actually meet in real life but he has helped me in almost every facet of production. Funny thing is it all started over a mistaken identity lol I've been following you for so long in FB but I need to catch up on all these gems. Thanks again for all that you do!
On speed lol, I've just recently started vlogging myself or at least creating my content and the amount of times I get just a short passage wrong is crazy, so props to Adam for his ability to speak accurately nearly all of the time, even with the odd stumble, who cares, it's impressive. Thanks again Adam for your great advice, it spurs me on.
I fully agree with you and so does most of the industry. If you haven’t built your community then you have nothing to promote. For a lot of music makers, this seems like a catch-22, but it’s not. Thanks for your time and energy - Tim
Because of social media i've worked with artists from CA, FL, and Europe while being based out of MA. People from almost every country in the world where internet is available have watched my content in some way. It takes a while to build things up, but its worth the effort if you stick with it.
been using instagram to create a fanbase for my drumming, and it’s worked in ways i never expected. Came in contact with some of my inspirations, and have a foot in the door to bigger things. Remove the negative outlooks, keep faith, the drive, and things will form in time.

Saying "you" instead of "guys" makes it feel more personal. Great channel!
I'll take that tip, thanks!
The “hey, guuuuuuys” intro to every video is one of my biggest pet peeves, lol.
@@topangasideeye - Exactly!! I'm going to start making my videos with, "hey dude"
Is it weird that I see Adam as a mentor? I've learned more from this man than the books I've been reading. I can only thank this guy!
Yea I pull out a pen and pad before I click every vid. I hope you had an amazing year since this comment

Instagram has been my go to lately for better engagement. I'm glad you were able to clarify the subject better for me.

Just found your channel. Grt content brutha!
love your videos buddy. Keep up the good work
Great advice!
I have been blind to the "engagement" aspect. Ive looked at it like a business, instead of building relationships. Very informative! thx
Thank you Adam for constantly helping me find the tools & motivation required to get my first solo project up & running. I will go to your Instagram now! 🤘🏼
You appear a lot more confident in your delivery lately Adam. Channel's killing it congrats
I found your channel today & it’s the best educational/ advice channel I’ve ever come across. I’ve been struggling with my original music mainly because I haven’t believed in myself. I’m inspired ✨ Thank you so much. I subscribed!
This was very helpful, thanks for the insight Adam
This is solid advice! Strive for connection, not likes.
I love the fearless attitude you possess and share. 🤘🏼🤘🏼
Thanks so much. Starting a social media following is a difficult path but you are truest correct when you say that engagement is the key to growth. 🙏🏾
Holy shit im glad I came across your channel brother. Thank you so much for sharing all this knowledge with us.
This channel is great and the information is so valuable. I'm trying to grow my instagram following a bit at the moment as I have more time on my hands and it is a slow and steady process for sure but the information on these videos helps so much. Thank you!

I just recently broke the 1k mark on my IG followers which for me organically has been a great milestone. I have no lack of quality Content it just seems hard to turn the engagement into actual sales for me. I might need your coaching soon. Thanks again Adam for your great advice, it spurs me on.
I fully agree with you and so does most of the industry. If you haven’t built your community then you have nothing to promote.
For a lot of music makers, this seems like a catch-22, but it’s not.
Thanks for your time and energy -
Tim
I just want to say thank you for the vast array of information you continue to deliver!!!!
Because of social media i've worked with artists from CA, FL, and Europe while being based out of MA. People from almost every country in the world where internet is available have watched my content in some way. It takes a while to build things up, but its worth the effort if you stick with it.
Very nice and helpful dear, viewiing this is so energising positively for me and open my mindset
