His ashes are buried next to his owner that he loved so much and waited 9 years for. They erected a statue of him in Shibiya Station in Japan. A symbol of unending loyalty.
got to visit the statue in 2018 and its so lovely to witness everybody admiring and petting it. cried so much, its one of my most cherished memories :)
I think it’s impossible not to AT LEAST shed a tear watching this movie; I am a hot mess every time 😄
It’s more heartbreaking from it being a real story 😭
This was the very first film to make me cry, never cried before because of a film, but this one had me sobbing and even now, years later and this time Not even seeing the hole film, I'm still sobbing. You right, dogs and animals in general represent something so pure and innocents🐶
That last scene is heartbreaking the symbol of the light is basically him dying that he knew it was time to go so he walked that last time to the station, and he was going into the light as signal as he was dying.
I barely managed to get through this movie the first time through without sobbing and watching you get through this broke my heart all over again, especially knowing it was a retelling of the real Hachiko
NOOO not this movie!!😭😭 I watched it once as a child over ten years ago, and I still haven’t recovered from it💔😭
We need more people in this life like this man. Amazing
🙏
if you haven’t already, don’t watch a dogs journey , a dogs purpose or a dogs way home, your eyes will be filled with tears more than smiles
Unfortunately, for me, those dog movies doesn't really compare to this one.
For me, my top 3 dog movies are
1st place - Hachi: A Dog's Tale
2nd place - The Art of Racing in the Rain
3rd place - Arthur the King
That's just for me.
Have a nice day.
🐶🐕🐩🐺❤❤❤❤
As a dog lover, i cry my eyes out everytime i watch this, even now I’m crying with u😭 so that’s totally fine:) loved the reaction
I was sobbing through all of this movie. At the end I was on the floor 😅❤
I don't care how many times I watch this I ALWAYS cry we don't deserve dogs they are too pure for us.... That poor baby loved his owner so much he decided that he didn't want another family and he didn't want change, I guess it shows while humans live in the moment dogs see things as forever...
I had the same reaction as yours. When I was a young student in Japan, I would wait for my friends at Hachi's statue without knowing Hachi's story. The statue was a good meeting spot for us all in Tokyo. After knowing well about Hachi's story, I once again went to the statue and broke down in tears. Now the statue is a beautiful spot for my heart.
I brought a copy of Hachi to a friend of mine at work and she actually yelled at me the next day. She isn’t even a dog lover..lol!! Such a beautiful story. Hachiko Waits!
I’ve seen this movie once and honestly I don’t think my heart can take watching it through your eyes… I’m gonna bawl my eyes out 😭
Edit: oh look I’m 13 minutes in and I’m already a sobbing mess 😭
Gonna save this for when I need a good cry... 🥺
If you want another heartfelt dog movie, I recommend Disneys "Togo". It's based on the 1925 serum run to Nome.
I hope Hachiko can be happy with the Professor, but it makes me even sadder because this actually happens in the real story
LOL we named my dog Hachi after this movie, its my mom's favorite dog movie ❤
I watched this movie many years ago! I was sure that I couldn't watch it ever again, until today!
The thing that broke me most about the movie, was that he didn't understand that the owner was dead! If someone could have made him understand, he wouldn't have to torture himself for 9 years! 😢🥺
But I read something today, from akita owners, that made me happy! They think that he was going to the train station to meet his owner first. But then continued because of the routine, pets and treats he was getting! 🥰
Dogs don't understand the permanence of death. It's their nature
they showed us a clip of this in school years ago and I sobbed. its an incredible story
Like the man said it's got to be a purpose why the dog will fetch. And he knew what was wrong with him. he could smell it. Dogs have a better sense on things than us humans before we know things it's too late to do anything about it.
The one thing that I love about dogs Is there pure and loyal but there not driven by greed or hate like humans. They don't act human they are loyal and good companions. And will be there for you. As long as you treat them good, they will be good back to you. I love how smart they are too how to train to for recuse and helping out others.
The most heart wrenching story ever
I love your reaction... ❤ I cry everytime I watched HachI, now I watch reactions..I still keep crying. I can't help it. I'm really weak when it comes to animals😭
I cry everytime when I think about this
and God said, i will send them without wings so no one suspects they are angels
This film hits me harder than any breakup ever could. I absolutely loved what you said about supporting hoarders over pounds-I couldn’t agree more, 200%! As an animal rescuer and advocate-living in the Philippines where I admit life can be hard-I often feel obligated to take in every animal I can reach, even saving some from pounds. But it’s heartbreaking knowing I can’t save them all. Seeing someone else with such a deep compassion for these creatures means so much, and for that, I’m subscribing. Thank you for lending a voice for them! 🐶🐾🩷💕
♥️ 🙏 dogs in particular are part of my happiness.
@7DeadlyBananas same!!! 🐶💕
This movie is and will always be my Achilles heel!
Now excuse me while I put my pieces back together! 😭💔
Lmao "sh*t cat, stupid cat" hahaha
😂
i think only dog owners ever understand the impact of this movie.
♥️ 🐶
ok now i think you need to watch Togo LOL. its such a beautifully done movie. orrr a dog's purpose! that ones a good one as well.
David was brutal with this one
Bro what are you doing? I watched this one singular time thinking “oh cute dog movie”…. NO
exactly
Blame my editor 😂
Being already familiar with the story of Hachi I at least went into it knowing what to expect, lol. But it was still hard to watch
Are you gonna cleanse your pallet with Human Centipede?!😂
Oh god do I want to 🤣 but I don’t think it would do well on YT 🤣 🤣 I’d have to just watch it for Patreon.
You should definitely watch a dogs journey, the first 2 movies are amazing.
I'm definitely a cat lady, but I loved all of my dogs immensely throughout my life and I can't watch this movie any more. Just watching reactions has me bawling and becoming a blubbering mess 😭😭😭
This is possibly the worst movie b/c of how good it is at being a heartbreaking and heartwarming story at the same time.
We don't deserve dogs, or any pets really. This is one movie that can make grown men weep like babies. You'd have to have a heart of stone not to.
Every day he went to the station to wait for his beloved father to come home. The people around him took pity on him and gave him food. Some say he went to the station every day for food, but he held on to a glimmer of hope that his father would return.
Umm in that you said little wrong they don't give their all unless you treat them well, but if you do treat them like anyone who you really love then those animals give 200% back for sure.
goodgood reaction!
just same as me😢
😭😭😭私も何度見ても、いつも泣きます。日本より
🙌 🇯🇵 can’t wait to visit!
Unfortunately I saw this in the theaters and I was on a date and it was brutal everyone was crying in the theatre I wont to watch it again.
i’ve watched this movie once and can NEVER watch it again. i literally cried so much my head hurt lol, way too painful for me to watch again 🥲
У меня защитная реакция либо злость либо смех . Очень грустный фильм трогательный пздц
This Movie is just 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
I vote for Turner & Hooch 😉
Okay, this was just straight up cruel to subject you to this movie without any warning. Bad David!
😂 I said the same thing
