That blush looks stunning on you! It just convinced me that it's not going to work for me, but that's just fine because everyone should have an Hourglass blush that's perfection on their skin. Seeing this addition to the line makes me happy that they're taking baby steps. Not every product needs to work for me to appreciate it.
I bought the blush during the Sephora sale and I love it! It's such a beautiful shade (I agree, it looks different in person than the promo pics). Finally hourglass is making something I can wear that doesn't look ashy on my skintone!
Gorgeous blush... I LOVE the new PM Dark Star Mascara. I used to have a tubing mascara for my lower lashes but got sick of buying another one just for that.. so now I use a less expensive L’Oreal version mascara that looks great on my lower lashes.
Alicia, this blush is absolutely stunning--sophisticated, as you said, which I love!! I feel the same way about mascara (how I want it to look, brush type, etc), I think you pull off the Unlocked really well though. Definitely smart to use it on the lower lashes!! ❤️

I am with you on the mascara brush. I am old school and I prefer a traditional brush. But I will try the unlock for my lower lashes because everyone I use smudges on me even waterproof ones

Pretty! I have that same hourglass ghost face palette you showed on this video...the older one they released again at the end of 2019. I use that palette every day. I’m going to hit pan on the peachy shimmer blush shade in that palette. I love a light but shimmery cheek shade for every day. This blush looks beautiful.

I finally got around to watch this, gorgeous! I won't lie, I only wanted this because the promo pic made it look blood red and it's called "At Night" and I love nighttime. When I realized Temptalia has a bunch of corals as dupes, I decided to wait until I could see it in store (who knows when that will be?). Looks stunning on you!

Before I forget, because I will, that first swipe of blush with the Chikuhodo powder brush is perfect. If you just wore that and did no other cheek products it would look perfect and beautiful and be enough. Anyway, now I want to go see if I have to eat my words because I haven't seen the rest of the video yet. (Edited to add - chomp chomp, the bronzer and highlighter and the finishing buffer powder all look gorgeous. I know what you're saying about the "grouping together" of lashes the mascara is doing. It does look good but it's not fanned out enough.) p.s. You look good - you always look good and you are always up for whatever you're doing because you refuse to slack off. Despite that, I think you need a free day, a re-charge your inner battery day, a fun day. A small amount of the fattening food of your choice would also be appropriate. I don't know if it's still hot and humid in NY but I expect it is and that kind of weather just sucks the life out of you. Be well. (Edited to add - p.s. D'oh. I love tubing mascaras especially Thrive and I am really enjoying this one. Puerto Rico receives tons of Saharan Dust and for people with allergies, they are perfect because they do not move, not matter what. BTW, that blush would look awesome as an eyeshadow. Saludos!
apparently, the mascara is very much like the thrive causemetics one. and for the thrive, it is recommended to apply subsequent coats before it dries! maybe it's the same for hourglass?

I find that with tubing mascaras like the Hourglass, I have to stop at one coat. Anything after that doesn't work with the tubing formula. It begins to set up tubes around whatever I apply it over, creating those clumped together lashes. Much better separation with one coat!
I’m pale af but the at night blush is GREAT! You’ve definitely got to put it up the face and blend it down but it’s sooo good. I got it right when it launched and honestly one of my favorite red blushes. I agree it’s a surprisingly unique red. And I do love sublime flush but ofc I’m pale af 😂.
I love hourglass powders so much. I have used them in my freelance kit for years but unfortunately ive never used them on myself because i'm much darker than my usual clients. Imagine, loving products on your clients that you can't even enjoy yourself 😖
The blush looks lovely. I out reminds me of Patrick Ta’s red blush -same tone, which I just picked up. The mascara wand reminds me of the benefit bad gal which is one of my favs! I used to combine Hourglass caution and Thrive mascara all the time. For me the other benefit of a tubing mascara is that my eyes are very sensitive to mascara and liquid liner and tubing mascaras (and vegan mascaras) are way less irritating. I haven't opened either Dark Star or Unlocked yet, because I have a few weeks left on my last two, but was hoping for the same kind of Caution/Thrive combo with Dark Star and Unlocked. I don't like plastic bristles AT ALL, but I'm willing to endure them for a tubing mascara (or the sisley comb mascara, which is just stupidly expensive but gives me the world's longest lashes and doesn't irritate my eyes, similar to Chantecaille in the past. And this kids, is what happens when you can't wear false lashes without wanting to rip your eyes off but like big long lashes. (Or 99.999% of drug store mascaras). My problem, to the extent I have one, with Thrive is that its the opposite of all other mascaras in that it is the absolute best the first two months, third month is okay and then it gets meh. Hoping unlocked is less that, but its why I'm not opening it until I am fully go time with it.
What bronzer shade u recommended for a medium skin tone similar to yours from hourglass, since unlocked pallete isn't available anymore , does nude bronze light shows up on your skin well?
You have RUINED ME for all other powder blush brushes with the Chikuhodo Z-8. Especially for baked blushes. Last night I was putting together a beautylish "probably going to buy in September list," with some replacements and some new items. But I was like maybe I should get a maki-e or another Z-8. For blush. Because I wear a lot of blush. Maybe I need 2. Even though I almost entirely use goat or syntheic (because way less pick up) for bronzer. But Maybe I would use it for bronzer and finising powder. Obvs I need 2. Slow your roll Courtney. Slow your roll. This shade is perfection for the kind of dramatic, monochromatic looks I like in winter. Definitely on my radar, especially with my new divinyl lips!

The thrive cosmetics liquid lash extensions mascara is also a tubing mascara and it doesn’t ever smear or flake and it’s $24

Hi Alicia!!! Thanks for the review! The At Night blush is pretty and looks good on you. Vivid flush is also really pretty. I am also not a fan of spikey brushes, as they hurt when using them. I am going to get the Houglass eye primer from the Sephora sale. I was going to purchase this morning, but they got rid of Apple Pay, so that makes it less convenient. Your lighting looked good. I find that with tubing mascaras like the Hourglass, I have to stop at one coat. Anything after that doesn't work with the tubing formula. It begins to set up tubes around whatever I apply it over, creating those clumped together lashes. Much better separation with one coat!
Yes!!! I agree, as I loved how my lashes look after one coat. It’s not a building friendly mascara, and perhaps great for no shadow days!
I’m pale af but the at night blush is GREAT! You’ve definitely got to put it up the face and blend it down but it’s sooo good. I got it right when it launched and honestly one of my favorite red blushes. I agree it’s a surprisingly unique red. And I do love sublime flush but ofc I’m pale af 😂.
I love hourglass powders so much. I have used them in my freelance kit for years but unfortunately ive never used them on myself because i'm much darker than my usual clients. Imagine, loving products on your clients that you can't even enjoy yourself 😖

The blush looks lovely. I out reminds me of Patrick Ta’s red blush -same tone, which I just picked up. The mascara wand reminds me of the benefit bad gal which is one of my favs! I got the Marc Jacobs new mascara and it’s still waiting to be opened so I’ll have to put this on the list. Thanks for close ups!

I used to combine Hourglass caution and Thrive mascara all the time. For me the other benefit of a tubing mascara is that my eyes are very sensitive to mascara and liquid liner and tubing mascaras (and vegan mascaras) are way less irritating. I haven't opened either Dark Star or Unlocked yet, because I have a few weeks left on my last two, but was hoping for the same kind of Caution/Thrive combo with Dark Star and Unlocked. I don't like plastic bristles AT ALL, but I'm willing to endure them for a tubing mascara (or the sisley comb mascara, which is just stupidly expensive but gives me the world's longest lashes and doesn't irritate my eyes, similar to Chantecaille in the past. And this kids, is what happens when you can't wear false lashes without wanting to rip your eyes off but like big long lashes. (Or 99.999% of drug store mascaras). My problem, to the extent I have one, with Thrive is that its the opposite of all other mascaras in that it is the absolute best the first two months, third month is okay and then it gets meh. Hoping unlocked is less that, but its why I'm not opening it until I am fully go time with it.
What bronzer shade u recommended for a medium skin tone similar to yours from hourglass, since unlocked pallete isn't available anymore , does nude bronze light shows up on your skin well?
You have RUINED ME for all other powder blush brushes with the Chikuhodo Z-8. Especially for baked blushes. Last night I was putting together a beautylish "probably going to buy in September list," with some replacements and some new items. But I was like maybe I should get a maki-e or another Z-8. For blush. Because I wear a lot of blush. Maybe I need 2. Even though I almost entirely use goat or syntheic (because way less pick up) for bronzer. But Maybe I would use it for bronzer and finising powder. Obvs I need 2. Slow your roll Courtney. Slow your roll. This shade is perfection for the kind of dramatic, monochromatic looks I like in winter. Definitely on my radar, especially with my new divinyl lips!
