Its so easy to make the back of a painting look very old. 1. mix peroxyd with vinegar and steelwool in a bottle, leave it for a weak then use that watery mixture on the wooden frame. It'll oxidize the wood and make it look over 100y.o. 2. stain the back of the canvas with tea. 3. make labels, stain them with coffee and stick them on with regulay elmers glue. 4. write on them with chalk to make it seem as if it was auctioned. Tadah magical forgeries art. For the front, before you varnish, use coffee right on the paint to stain it. it will give the painting a yellow colour like old paintings. All good, its pass as an old 19th century painting. P.S: value has to do with who painted it not when or how nice it looks.

I want to have it appraised, but for sentimental values, I have hesitated for years to even have it appraised to keep from being tempted to sell it. I can’t bury it with me and my kids assured me that it will be donated or trashed.
