    Vera I really admire you! Though being sick you have still pushed forward when you can. I get rid of anything that makes me sad. I am not as minimal as you are but enjoy my home when it is clean and organized. I have struggled with some depression or discouraged during the pandemic but now I am over coming it by trying hard to get things done as I can. Have a wonderful day! You were right to keep the camera boxes for a while in case you have to send it back, or if you had a problem and needed the manufacturer to repair it. It takes m e a while to decluttet, and sometimes it requires buying something. For example, I bought a kind of coat rack. It's a piece of wood with hooks for coats or whatever. In the US South houses usually don't have a coat closet near the door. As a result coats get draped over chairs, beds etc as clutter. Now coats all go in one place. Less clutter!

    This video just popped up so I decided to watch it while I was at the gym today. I guess I have a love-hate relationship with keeping things that have past memories. I've held on to our paper wall calendars for every year since about 2008. I kind of regret not keeping them for even more years, from when our children were born because something about seeing those day-to-day routines and things that they did brings me great joy. I've never been a journal person though. I guess my paper wall calendar with the personal day-to-day notes is the closest that I can get. I feel like especially for instance if someone would pass away, it's lonely without them here with us and we don't know when we'll get to see them in heaven because we don't know when our time will be. So knowing that, that causes me to probably hang on to a few more sentimental items such as calendars. But other physical items I just have to let go of because sometimes the memories make me sad seeing a physical item.

    Vera, check out the Kibbe body types, I feel they work soooo much better than the fruit body type. I am a pear as well, but also a soft natural according to kibbe. It really helped me understand why I like certain items of clothing

    Love your chanel Vera! Have you ever heard of the Rocketbook? You can either whipe the pages clean with microfiber towel or microwave the whole book once the pages are full and reuse. I haven't personally tried it yet..just bought one for my husband for Christmas. Just a suggestion :)

    Vera, thank you for all your inspirational videos! I don't know if this was already addressed in the comments, as I did not read all of them, but I would love to see you do a video where you help a "real" cluttered person declutter. Your decluttering seems just a bit simple and not applicable to those of us with very severe clutter problems.

    How did you get a 'lifetime' of photos into so few albums? I'm 50 and have 5 Rubbermaid bins full of albums. Though my albums are so large, some bins only have two albums in them ( so I can still lift them off the shelf). Any tips/ advice on photos would be appreciated.

    • @chanboubou9245
      @chanboubou9245 4 роки тому +1

      I have A LOT of photo albums... I make them on line. I also digitalized old photos and slides to make albums, and store the lot on my bookshelves so they are easily accessible. The idea is not to own nothing physical, but to keep what is necessary for your own happiness... I love that word used by another youtuber, Erica Lucas: minimalish, not minimalist😁

    • @SimpleHappyZen
      @SimpleHappyZen  4 роки тому +2

      Hi Sarah! I decluttered all my physical and digital photos a while ago. I kept around 20-30% of them, only the best ones. The physical photos I put in an album, the digital photos I made digital albums and had them printed. That's also why they're all different sizes. But the best advice I can give you is to be critical and declutter the double ones, or the ones that are out of focus, or just not as nice. And only keep the best ones. Because then you're much more likely to look through them and enjoy them in my opnion :)

      I've been thinking about that actually! Like Zipporah Achieng Ke said, I'm normally not a basket or organisational tools kind of gal, I prefer to keep things like this on a shelf. :)

    • @asparrow5505
      @asparrow5505 4 роки тому +2

      I learned that for myself the hard way lol. I'll use a basket or two here or there to get stuff up high all at once or little pieces and because of cats but if I try to get too organized I end up leaving messes because it's too complicated. I'm actually decluttering extra storage boxes atm.

    • @geraldmcmullon2465

      Having a camera bag, or camera bag insert can be useful to grab everything as one and take to another room, move from one back pack to another or suit case for outings. Same with cables and dongles, charges and battery packs. One easy to grab "organizer bag" that you can place on a table and easily find what you need and just as easily put back on a shelf in a cupboard. It also keeps the dust of items.

      Haha if I could push a button and have that done instantly, I would. But after spending sooooooo much time decluttering my photos, I think I'll keep it like this. Another reason they're a different size, is that some have physical photos, but some albums are made digitally and printed.
