Thanks for showing the whole car FIRST and then gradually approaching the oil pan 0:26 and oil filter 1:34, so people will see where is the location...not like some videos that suddenly they show the oil filter and you don't know where is the location of oil filter
thank you for this video!! i just got a 2005 FE and im going to change the oil and filter myself because of your easy and simple to follow tutorial!!!! thank you again!!
before you install the new oil filter you must fill the filter at least half with oil to prevent the engine to run dry and damage the cylinders and piston rings.
George Capra thank you. Finally someone agrees. I always fill it up until it stops bubbling and going down. Then even when I start it up the oil pressure light comes on for a second or two
That's just an old wives tale. If you "must" fill it up then how do you fill it on cars that have horizontal or even inverted filters like the new Subarus have? That's right, you DON'T because it's not required. It makes zero difference...
Are you guys also experiencing water in the cabin after rain? Just picked up an 07 escape and I find a small puddle in the right passenger foot well and in the roof lining behind the sunroof. Not sure where to start.
Question for you.. my mom owns a 2003 ford escape. Now I hear some escapes have a PLASTIC oil pan? WTF??? as a true car buff I think plastic parts are DUMB. this particular vehicle has been tuned for launch control. I never really checked the pan but hoping it is NOT plastic or I will have to replace it with a METAL one.

Great video. From start to finish, one of the most thorough do-it-yourself car videos I've seen. Keep up the good work.

You might have to have a collision body shop have to do it headliner and plastic parts and some carpet moved near A pillar
you should prime the oil filter first before installing.
Not necessary.
I’m 14 and even I knew you need to put oil in the filter so it doesn’t dry start and mess up the car
When you change the filter you probably should’ve put some oil inside of the filter so when you start it it won’t be running dry asf
Thanks for the helpful video
For sure
