Jimbos failed miserably on my friends car. It did not out perform as advertised. Kind of funny considering he has tried other similar products Jimbo has tested (which failed on his torture tests) but in the real world they all performed and lasted longer than his own.
I get there's biased views on his part and quite rightly so. It's normal. But there's inconsistencies from bottle to bottle. I don't blame him but blame the company he is sourcing this from.
I mean beating chemical guys is not very hard…

When you have something like DIY's Ceramic Gloss coming in at right around 25% less dough there's really not much of a reason to grab this stuff as it is. It's got a solid base though, hopefully v2 puts it up with the big boys.
Came in a little late here to the comments section. But that's 'cause I was at Costco loading up on jumbo( or Jimbo?) sized 🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿.

Is that the spray head it came with? Something that damn expensive should have a Tolco adjustable spray head.
This was a pre release sprayer they do come with tolcos now 👍 and by pre release only by like 2-3 weeks

I remember posting in a video Turtle Wax was not going to be happy with hard as shell.
I agree Neil, I too commented on "Hard as Shell" in Jimbo's intro. to this product.
I think this illustrates the importance of both real-world and torture testing. Had really high hopes but it was nothing special on my test mirror either. Actually, on plastic it was outperformed by Adapt V1.
And that’s just their waterless wash, I think he will take this feedback and come back strong 🧼

Pretty sure in Jimbos video he says it hardens and protects more as it sits over time...applying it and washing it away instantly is a pretty disengenuos way of "testing" it...but at least it beat out hydro blitz in your test.
This is 48 hour cure time as stated in the video 👍 and this is just a water based spray sealant there is no hardening to a product like this
Do you think that hitting the product with the spray from the pressure washer could abrade it versus just washing it with a hose?

Chemical guy's products are not good and on top of that too expensive. You can try Meguiar's hybrid ceramic wax, it's very good.

Getting 2019 vibes from some dude named scott from dallas who told us all about "his" product line and how much better it was than all the other watered down stuff and he had more si02 and his yarn was the best in the bisiness and his yadda yadda... only it wasnt "his" or even close to his and their product was junk. Been thinking about this since jimbo started pushing his stuff the last couple months. Im barely sold on apex and diy detail products at this point. Scott ruined it for me. And now here we are again with more junk on the market. But "his" is the best...yeah sure... thanks for the real and honest review.
Sorry that was a knee jerk reaction. I should also say I've never used the product and no experience with it. So I shouldn't be slinging mud, but I have to call BS when I see it. He built this stuff up like it was better than most full blown coatings. Then again he was putting it up against cerakotes nightmare so that's not saying much.

I'm always skeptical now when I see multiple channels review the same product at the same time 🤔 lol. As we learned from the cerakote debacle... a little real world testing can go a long way. I also agree with you about DIY detail... I'm an owner's pride installer and their lineups are very similar. Both are simple and effective, and modeled after optimum. The biggest difference is OP like most brands markets the products, while DIY markets the process using the products so people learn and don't feel like they are always being sold to.
Just get some good old Sonax BSD, none of that ceramic mumbo jumbo, old school sealant that blows many of the new products out of the water.

So basically hard as shell is a topper/drying aid and not a sealant/spray coating. It Can handle a torture test but doesn’t last long real world. Easy to apply slick and glossy

After watching numerous videos of many products and using most of them myself in real world conditions, I got to say that none of them can hang in the real world as advertised. Not on a daily driver that doesn't get gently washed every week anyway.

Real world just means it’s tested on an actual vehicle and not a panel in your garage 👍 it’s fails at about 30 days

You applied two chemicals (one being a Chemical Guys product) to a panel and washed it for about 20 minutes, 10 times. That's a "Real world" test????
To me, it appears you are trying to make up, for talking all that smack in your first video. You are not doing Jimbo a favor, when the conclusion of your test is: It's better than Chemical Guys.
Jimbos testing methodology was very flawed from the start, yours makes no sense either! Vehicles are made for driving.......That's the real world!
@@julientaylor this was just a quick test to share my thoughts with my experience with the product so far, as with information gathered with others tests and results. The real world tests have already been performed. 👍 as you can see in this test in the short term it holds up great. Once again it’s a good product, but not great
