- In this episode I'm back at The Bushcraft Show, after almost 2 years of covid 19 preventing its planning. I'm joined by Tom from @BackGardenBushcraft & his Dad Mike for a 4 night camp in the estates 54 acre woodland.
We visit loads of great shops, talks and demonstrations and have a general great time.

Enjoyed that, you're such a humble chap. We went on the Saturday last year as it was a last minute thing. We were chatting to Dustin at the Wilderness Gathering and he persuaded us to go. May try and do the full weekend this year, are you going?
Got tickets for this year's bushcraft show. Looks wicked 🤙🏻 Proper buzzing for this one

It was a great show, I saw you guys and wanted to say hello but you was busy. Hopefully will get to say hi next year. Keep the vids coming 👍
Thanks mate!
Never too busy to say hello to a supporter, really hope we bump into each other next year. 🙏
What's the new lens you're using? Enjoying the aesthetics of it. Looks like a really good trip.
It was a brilliant show mate!
I was using the freewell wide angle osmo pocket lens & also Tom's nikon w/50mm 1.8f I think 🙏
Bushcraft show in UK is not for the average working man and his family as the price of the tickets is ridiculous! Never realised that Bushcraft is so expensive!
I guess it is expensive, but you do get all the talks, demonstrations, camping, facilities & some amazing people included. It's alot of people's alternative to a holiday and has become a pilgrimage. Hope you enjoyed the video despite the cost etc! Stay safe & thanks for watching 🙏
I appreciate your video, good video blog. Good description of Americans by Ray Mears. Zealots who police the world and tell off those who do it wrong. I will hang onto that statement. I've heard that he is not really a nice man, but who knows. He was hanging in when not many were talking about being in the wild.
Thanks!
He definitely hit the nail on the head with that, hence including that clip :)
The times I've met him, he has always been a true gentleman :)
So a fire bow drill, needs a bow, that's easy enough, and a fire board, made of a soft wood, again, easy. What is the spindle made from? Where I live there is no hard wood, like Oak, or Walnut or Ash, or Hickory wood. So I guess that's why most of the Indians, used a flint and steel. Oh, and no Birch Bark.
Hardwoods are good for bow drill, my favourite is sycamore or willow for both parts of the set, the heart board and the spindle. It's definitely temperamental and one that requires a good dry set to work, Flint and steel is a sure way to get consistent sparks & definitely preferred after it's discovery by native peoples. Tha ks for watching 🙌🙏🔥
Really enjoyed this.............Would you like to chat on Chris Thrall's Podcast.........???? Thanks and Blessings...........................
Thank you, glad you enjoyed it :) Definitely! That would be an amazing opportunity!!!
