I edited my original comment since I already state a simple mechanism but were you aware that just because it's a short stroke mechanism it can still have gas rings? Examples that come to mind are the FN Scar and Tavor 7. Some short stroke gas pistons still require gas rings. I was trying to emphasize that this design has no rings whatsoever.
Looks like a fine rifle arriving just a tad late to the party. I'm a huge fan of IWI products but I haven't seen any reason to purchase this instead of a CZ Bren...or even to replace a Galil with this or a higher quality piston AR.
bout time! Please bring us the Arad! Edited to add: Would be nice to see barrel removal. Any plans for 12.5-14.5” barrels? Also are the hooks on the lower receiver steel reinforced like a HK UMP?
Why would you want shorter barrels instead of an 18,5? M193 is utterly useless below the 3k+fps threshold. Longer barrel=more muzzle velocity=consistent and reliable fragmentation. M193 (the only affordable and worth while 5.56 round) won't do what it was designed for out of a shorter barrel, including 16", let alone all those carbine and pistol length barrels. Get an X95 18,5" if you want a small overall package AND 5.56 lethality is what I always tell everyone😃
Wonderful. Now, empower POS gunsmiths to resolve/correct the FPSB recall issue w/out requiring new owners, ( AKA loyal customers ) to ship back to you for, "4-6" week turn/repair. Absolutely, unequivocally love mine...but IWI recall/return solution is a quintessential fail. Judged not by the problem, but by the solution for the problem you created is solved.
Huge and shamelessly biased IWI fan here. Hard pass though on this one. Too much plastic in too many essential areas, folding stocks for example are the number one potential fail points.... There is a reason why the aftermarket fixed the SCAR.
@geckcgt7216 Okay? Point taken, thanks for the thought exchange. That's definitely something to keep in mind then. Technically I'm intrigued by the SCAR's mechanics, and the sights in particular are great.
Picked up my Carmel today! My IWI collection is growing! Feel free to send any freebies my way !
Can you please bring back the gen I galil ace? I promise to buy a couple vs. procrastinating this time around lol!
Love mine and appreciate the simplicity of the mechanism, how smooth it runs, and it's great balance. Thanks Tom!!

Well, the reason to get this over a bren is that CZ has stopped producing brens domestically. Thanks Colt, very cool.
Thank you for this Tom!!!
Tom is a stud.
I love thing and considering making it my main since spare parts are available!

Are you guys going to make a 308 version?
Very nice. Thank you
Why did you discontinue making the glilon?
How do you switch the charging handle to the other side? Thinking of getting one
There's a slot halfway back and you just push it through to the other side. It's pretty genius.
Sweet! Easy Peasy.
Love it. Just need a fixed stock version so I can bring one to the people's republic of New Jersey.
I know the sad feeling. I'm sure some shop in this state can pin it and add $500 bucks to the price to be jerkoffs
It really needs the original handguard!

Finally 😹
This rifle replaced the Galil, Gen 1 and Gen 2. That's old design and technology... This is current... Looks like almost a copy of the Beretta ARX 16
Don’t like that handguard.
Bring back the og rail. New one is ugly.
Crappy camera work

IIRC those metal endplates damaged the SCAR receiver

Are we going to get one in FDE? If not I won’t wait on buying one and break out the rattle cans. I just can’t own anymore black guns anymore.
I love your videos. You explain things exactly how I like, in detail. 🤌🇮🇱💙🇮🇱
